Going Dark, including 'should I go dark' (Official Thread)

I'll probably hang around and see what all comes out.
I don't really mind spoilers, and it will give me something to do while I wait for release.

I'm actually considering it myself too, I'm super hyped and I enjoy a lot reading the devs tweets and what you all think about it, but it's not like I need to know much more about the game, and I'm going to buy it anyway, so I'm not sure it's worth staying here until I find myself thinking one day "oops, that I didn't want to know" ... I was thinking it might be a good time to limit myself to the DA forums, and I could just keep an eye on their site for the next gameplay video, the briefings and Jaal's bio (if we ever get one) and when I say it lke that even that sounds like too much

But is always so hard to make this decision, the hype is stronger than me tbh though, I never thought I'd be here still, a month away from release

I also like shiny things, damn. Guess I'll be cautious about tomorrow. Hope it's mostly gameplay, and yeah I hope EA laid down some rules about info released.

The way I look at it, paying any attention at all to the "fandom" when new information comes out will probably make me hate life.

Difference with the watching is you don't pay the money just to experience the product.

With IGN revealing the first 13 minutes of the game, now I feel like I new to speed up going dark. Dang. Wanted to wait till like 7-10 days before.

Right! I'm tagging out until probably some time in April. Have fun in Andromeda my brothers and sisters and I'll see you all when I've delivered some peace to the Archon, Will Smith style!

I'll watch the CC bit but the rest I'll likely skip. I'll likely go dark soon but I want to give Sara's trailer a chance to come out first so hopefuly we see that in the next couple of days.

I'm actually debating this myself as well. I've kept away from long videos like the first 10 minutes of the game and any long missions, but I've seen all the main trailers and gameplay videos.

However, in an ideal world, I would lock myself up in a room on March 21st and play 10 hours a day to my heart's desire. While I could do that back in high school, that's not the case now that I am in university, with final exams and assignments starting in April.

The way I see, I have two options:

a) Play the game a little bit at a time like any normal person

Wait until April 27th when my semester finishes so I could binge the game in the span of a few days

While I would prefer option b, I also know that I risk major spoilers by waiting over a month. I would have to put blocks on every gaming site, and especially BSN, to avoid spoilers.

I was thinking maybe I could just survive off of MEA's multiplayer and the book Nexus Uprising till the end of April, but maybe I'll just have to admit my life no longer permits for day long marathon sessions. Ah, the joys of adulthood.

Can I ask how you can unlock it Monday AM? I'm probably getting it for PC - I think it unlocks there 9 PM PST on the 20th.

It's legal.

Works on anything that would be feasibly impacted by you routing your internet connection through servers to make it seem like you're located where you're not.

Just do a search for free vpns, find one you want to use, download it, run it before launching Origin, launch the game with it open to unlock it, and close the program when you're done. Don't use it to purchase games from other regions for cheap because if they find out, they'll invalidate your key and probably ban you and don't download/preload with it running because it'll be slower than an old man with a walker in a crosswalk.
