Fair enough. In my mind I'm thinking of something longer than what we've seen in those trailers. Like I said, it really only adds up to around 5 minutes, which isn't a lot. Also I hate to say it, but the CES footage was a pretty poor demonstration. There were parts of it that kinda made the gameplay look bad. I think a lot of that can be chalked up to the guy playing the game was just bad, but it's not good to see Ryder melee an enemy, and there's no reaction to it. Anyway, yeah, the grand total of gameplay is probably 5-7 minutes, but that's more than enough to show you what running, shooting, taking cover, and jumping will look like. Just a thought maybe they are doing this since ME3 has such pre-sale promotional fan-fair and we know what happened after that. They probably do not want the game to blow up in their faces if the game falls hard.
"So Bioware care to give us the behind the scenes on what happened with ME3 pre and post launch?" Bioware responds:

Bioware responds: That might be part of it. I mean the last two video game martketing campaigns has generated a lot of sustained hype, at least for me personally...and I think for a lot of people. Yet a lot of people were dissapointed. Showing more information so far in advance might have made us imagine things and build up the game in our own heads, maaayyybbbee they hope that this time by showing the info in a condencsed manner he hype will be less, and the judging the game will actually be more.

Fallout 4. Googled "fallout 4 gameplay" from January 31, 2015 to November 10, 2015. And there are no videos longer than 10 minutes that weren't shown at E3. Check and Mate. Next thread please. Edit: Shit, ninja'd by clayoh well. lol

I'm gonna go ahead and assume you mean 'in recent years' because otherwise the answer is 'a lot'. Going way back a lot of 'uninterrupted gameplays' (such as E3 presentations) aren't actual gameplay. It's all just a pre-done demo for E3. Hell some of those weren't even running at a solid frame rate and where rendered out slowly, frame by frame and assembled for the E3 presentation.
Recent years though yeah not much, since they usually start the marketting train well before this point. Usually with shit that isn't actually in the game or isn't entirely representative (the E3 shits). There going to, they've said as much. I have a feeling the 15 minute thing is being held back for whatever the shit IGN's thing is gonna be, but it may not.
Either way it's happening, if we're middle of march with out anything I'd definitely be worried. But what we've gotten hasn't been bad and we know theres more so... *shrugs* learn to wait better I guess?
Also, unrelated, but anyone waking up each day expecting major news/videos... they tell us a day or 2 ahead of time. People just gettin' all spazzy over nothing at this point lol.

Wouldn't mind seeing a demo seamlessly showing traveling to a planet, landing, and exploring an open world map to give a glimpse at the variety of features. Would like to see if we just teleport out of the Nomad like we did with mako if there are actual doors this time. Want to see a glimpse of crafting.
Again, would like to know if there is more to do on the worlds besides drive, shoot, and scan.

There's this but I want seamless. I also want to see if we're come across random non hostile wildlife moving around. Stranded aliens in need of help. Bounties! for both monsters (like FFXV) and rouge aliens. Resource mining. ......my desire for mechs...finger crossed. Dungeons or Ruins to find awesome, exotic weapons.

We'll probably see that three weeks before the game is available. The question is why they waited so long? People like to say "ah, Fallout 4", but not only FO4 showed more when it was announced than Andromeda so far but both DA2 and ME3 had this problem as well, especially the former. Andromda is not the first Bioware game that we get close to release thinking "we've seen too little!" Maybe they did want to change the marketing half way through it, wouldn't be the first time as well (it happened with ME3). But a simple explanation is that they are not confident in showing gameplay, and seeing the clunkness of the VGA trailer, it's easy to believe that. Sure, Andromeda will be available for early access, just like all (?) EA games. But let's remember that both DA2 and ME3 had demos.

Agreed the only thing for me thast hey haven't done yet is explain the power system and how all that works other than that for me I think they've shown everything else that they need to entice me in as I'm pretty happy with what I'm seeing. I assume that'll likely come in the 10-15 minute vid we've been promised but we'll see.

See here is my beef with it Even Bethesda who has basically publicly said "we are not giving any early copies of our games to the press for reviews" have at least done us the courtesy of providing LENGTHY unedited gameplay videos of say Doom or Dishonored two so that, whole the press cannot color the opinions of the public (and each other) prior to release the potential customers would be able to get an idea of the quality of the final product AND spent a good amount of time answering questions openly about the games and LISTENING TO FAN FEEDBACK (why hello enhanced ng+ in Dishonored 2) So what is the deal with Mass Effect Andromeda? Is this another case of Bioware being pouty about it with an attitude similar to the issue of Tali's face "whatever we will show you guys would rip on it anyway so we'd rather show nothing?" I am sorry, I tend to assume the worst when gaming companies go silent...usually it means that they know they have a product that would piss people off somehow Except we know they will release a gameplay vide and do exactly what you and Dutch are asking them to. Whether or not you and Dutch happen to like what they show or find some reason of how it does not match what you have been asking for all along, that is another matter entirely. And frankly it should not matter when gameplay is shown before a game comes out as long as gameplay is released to show people how the game will behave. I mean frankly at this point I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if they are waiting for the game to go gold before showing anything. Why? Two reasons: First of all I do think game companies are realizing, especially in the modern day of the internet, it does not matter when you show long gameplay videos because people will still buy the game...or not...whenever they will buy the game...or not. Videos can become widely distributed within hours posted to YouTube, Facebook, and a wide variety of news outlets. So companies are realizing...might as well show the game in the final stage when it is complete or nearly complete, becasue as DA I proved with the stupid reaction to the Crestwood video, people tend to pout when they hype something in their heads and it proves to not be the case. So, why cause yourself unneccessary grief by releasing a gameplay video weeks, months, years in advance and have people praise/ complain about elements of your game that might not even be there in the first place? If someone complains about it lets make sure its actually worth complaining about. if that is the case then they should NOT ask people to preorder at all and yet you know very well that they do. It flies in the face of the very principle of the experiment and, I am sorry, it seems anti consumer to as it is for anithing that is less than full transparency. Also, once the game is in feature lockdown your final point becomes entirely moot and since it has been proven that it can be done VERY WELL by numerous companies (case in point halo wars 2) I do not see why I should just take it silently. No complaints = no improvements

No complaints = no improvements The problem with your "not asking people to pre-order" is that people were begging to pre-order for months prior to them even opening it up. People have different priories to what they are looking for in a game or even the marketing and just because it doesn't cater to one person what they are doing doesn't mean it isn't to another. It has been proven with BioWare games that people are unwilling to accept changes after they see them presented, so I can't see using another game from a different studio as an example as it working. While with BioWare games people wrote articles in the hundreds of words explaining why BioWare lied or mislead them by using content demonstrations that wasn't in the final product while even labeled as early in development.
