The "we've been spotted" line is a combat cue to let the player know that an enemy previously placed in stasis is coming out of it. It's still a dumb dialog. And I've had it trigger when there were no "stasis" powers at work. Miranda and Garrus on Miranda's loyalty mission. Garrus and Thane (or Tali) on Garrus' loyalty mission. Maybe they're just broken in my game.

Maybe they're just broken in my game. It may have a bug associated with it; but I have found it extremely useful on insanity when my Shepard is equipped with stasis as a bonus power. I tend to put a stronger enemy into stasis and get busy fighting other ones... forgetting about the one in stasis. Shepard blurting out "we've been spotted" has saved my ass more times than I can count.

Haha, I've had the line trigger the other day while being solo in Arrival. Walked into the Project living quarters. There are three or four guys there. Shepard: "We've been spotted!!!!" Yea Shep, who exactly are you telling to? Are you talking to yourself in pluralis majestatis now? A bit arrogant, don't you think?

Yea Shep, who exactly are you telling to? Are you talking to yourself in pluralis majestatis now? A bit arrogant, don't you think? Possible... One could, however, also head canon that: 1) Shepard is talking to "Jessie" (his/her weapon)... making him/her more like Zaeed than he/she would probably care to admit. or 2) Shepard is continually talking to the ghost of the Virmire victim (evidence that his/her death is constantly on Shep's mind). (Unfortunately, they didn't record an alternative "I've been spotted" line to alert the player that the enemy is now aware and an attack is imminent. As "dorky" as the line may be, it does serve a purpose as far as the gameplay goes.)

When mordin sings
"I am the very model of a scientist salarian, I've studied species turian, asari, and batarian. I'm quite good at genetics (as a subset of biology) because i am an expert (which i know is a tautology). My xenoscience studies range from urban to agrarian, I am the very model of a scientist salarian"

Everything the enemies in ME1 say : "ENEMIES EVERYWHERE!", "GO! GO! GO!"*, "I WILL DESTROY YOU!" definitely belongs in this thread. *I had to laugh when Alec Ryder says this in ME:A.

My head canon is that it was only said once in the entire series... and it just keeps echoing across space like a misfired missile (per the drill sergeant's description in ME2)

Mordin's dorkiest lines are during the derelict reaper mission in ME2. First, after killing the last bunch of husks, just before entering the airlock to the ME core, Mordin will say "Only task remaining is to overload the core." But Mordin, we haven't found the reaper IFF yet, you know, the actual reason why we came here in the first place. Remember? Then, 2 minutes later when we actually find the IFF (conveniently just before you get out of there), he will say "Cerberus found IFF after all. Present location of research team unknown." Wait, what? We just fought through about 20.000 husks and we saw the dragon's teeth, hell, Garrus and I even commented on them at length. Who do you think you were shooting all this time just now? Dam, I always thought Mordin was the smart one but during this mission, he really has a brain failure or something cause he makes no sense at all.

Mark Meer's "Calm down Liara, I was only teasing" sound pretty damned dorky to me, in fact a great deal of the early Liara romance dialogue always sounds a bit naff. Fortunately it does get a lot better.

"Organic life is nothing but a genetic mutation" - well buddy, considering genes are building blocks of life, this is kind of an odd/pseudo-profound way of wording things It would have been fine of ME3 hadn't ruined it. Imagine if the Reapers were a cosmic force. No beginning and no end. They were simply always there to do whatever the universe required. And if they'd followed the Dark Energy idea it could have even made some sense. But as written, yeah, it ended up being pointless.

The line with Liara claiming "She's lost a lot of blood" about the Asari Spectre in the Lair of the Shadow Broker DLC. This implies that the next encounter will be two things: Quick and Easy.
Then proceeds to have the most drawn out boss fight and most health/armor/barrier of any character in the entire trilogy. It was easy even on Insanity, but anything other than quick.

Everything Shepard says in Shadowbroker DLC, really. I'm surprised there isn't a mod to cut out some of Shepard's dumbass "hi stranger my friend Liara is after the Shadowbroker" and "omg you were the bad guy all along no way" crap. If there is such a mod that I missed out on, please share so I can enjoy Hagalaz without enduring all that stupid dialog

" when you blew up the Batarian relay hundreds of thousands of batarians died!!" Typical Anderson can't see the bigger picture. He could take a cue from Hackett.

Mark Meer's "Calm down Liara, I was only teasing" sound pretty damned dorky to me, in fact a great deal of the early Liara romance dialogue always sounds a bit naff. Fortunately it does get a lot better. I was about to comment the same thing. A lot of the Liara romance dialogue is super cheesy. Even in ME3. In fact it was the reason I switched to Kaidan in my current playthrough - "I want to spend my life with you" is not something my Shepard would say. To anyone. You don't have that much control over Shepard's character. You act more like the witty sidekick on his shoulder giving suggestions to what he should say and whom he should fall in love with/lust after. Shepard has nightmares - this is most apparent in ME3, but even in ME1 a few lines of dialogue reveal that fact. It's not that "My Shepard doesn't have nightmares" but rather "I advised Shepard to keep the nightmares to himself": you can stay consistent with that even in ME3.
It's an inherent limitation of CRPGs - you can't have 100% control over your PC like in a tabletop. Making Shepard prefer Kaidan to Liara? That's definitely your decision.
As for the dorkiest lines? Half the times Jennifer Hale tries to sound tough. It just makes me aware that I could break her in two if I wanted to. Mark Meer is hardly a tough guy either, but he at least can sound the part. It's even sadder when you consider that she did a far better job in her first ever role as Katrina. Even with the compressed 90s CD Audio, she sounded the part.
QFG4 Spoilers: Both when she's pretending to be a peasant living in the castle who's inexplicably good at magic and when she reveals herself as the vampiric Dark Master. She nails both roles, both when she's trying to manipulate Devon, when she's angry at him (and Ad Avis later) and when she's genuinely concerned for his welfare, her tone is different - sometimes subtly, sometimes obviously, but always far better than whatever excuse for voice work FemShep is.

"I wouldn't be surprised if this summoned a Reaper" (or something similar) - Shep activating a console in Overlord. The way it was delivered was bad too, like some tipsy uncle trying to be funny at a family gathering.
