I'm not preordering ME:A, and I have unfollowed all Bioware accounts on Facebook and Twitter because of the forum shutdown, but Manveer Heir's personal opinions don't have anything to do with whether I'm going to enjoy the game, and while I have a lot of issues with the person who runs the Medieval PoC site, nothing that NK Jemisin said in that quote was racist. I most likely won't be buying the book unless it gets rave reviews from people I trust, but if anything, the author's "SJW" views are a good sign that she has empathy for others, which is always nice.

My view of Bioware hasn't been best after DAI's buggy release so I won't be preordering for sure, there needs to be some patches and fan-reviews (aka people like us in this forum, who like Bioware's games, but still speak up their mind on them) to get idea where the game is at. Other stuff doesn't really impact the game itself even if forum closing does suck.

I'll probably wait until it's in the Origin bargain bin... I only just bought DA:I a coupla weeks back since it was only about £15 - not actually got around to playing it yet.
... unless it gets totally panned by TotalBiscuit, ZeroPunctuation and/or PC Gamer (especially PC Gamer since they seem to love everything BioWare - if they pan it, it'll have to be really bad).

I don't begrudge people who boycott something because they don't want to give money to certain individuals associated with it. Your money, your business. Personally, though, I care more about the quality of the product itself. If it's good, I'll buy it. If not, I won't.

As stated on the official forums I will probably buy it regardless of said and did what that worked on it. Will I playthrough it as much as prior Bioware games probably not. If it gives me the same excitement as ME2 did then I will probably end up doing close to 20 or so playthroughs. If it feels like DA:I, which at times felt very tedious (looking at you Mage/Templar and escaping quest), then I probably do at least one complete playthrough with all dlc included.

Then why are you here? To troll BW? I mean, if you are just admit it. I've done it with Blizzard. I wasn't aware that having high expectations for Andromeda was a prerequisite for posting on this site. I'm here because i'm an old BSN user and I (for the most part) enjoy the community, and on the off chance that Andromeda doesn't suck dick I want to be here to discuss it. As you well know, you drive me nuts. However, I 100% agree with this post, and my reasons for being here are similar. Cheers.

The only thing I find a little strange is people who are fans of ME3 say they'll get this. I'm a fan of ME3 too and not a hater.. but it's precisely why I question this game. It seems to be made for people who hated it. Not liked it. Like they're trying a big "redo". When I never asked for one, personally.

I'll buy the game that won't change because I'm not going to deprive myself our of good entertainment for the buck. They will have to give me a very good bribe for me to preorder. Their actiosn will affect my spending in other areas. In ME3mp I spent real money a few times after they released very good free expansion as a way of support of the product. That won;t happen in MEAMP. I was also ready to buy a bunch more BioWare clothing but I won;t be doing that now.

I'll likely buy it as this, in a way, is to make up for the shortcomings of ME3, which i don't feel is necessary but will accept anyway.
Regards the specified reasons, my only real problem is with the forums, since this displays who has controlling interest in the PR. The author i'm actually looking forward to because if they're making things more real, why-dah-fuck not? I say it's good to know white people weren't the only ones suffering during the dark ages.

The original series was finite and in Hudson's own words, meant to end. This comes off like a desperate cashgrab or some way to appease people who hated ME3. If it's good though, I'll try to forget that.

BG series, half life, etc just give me a game I'll enjoy. (I'm not saying my view point is ore relevant than yours though.)

It was more plot based than some sprawling open world, like DnD. But I do care that Hudson's gone, at the very least. It was his baby first.

"How many of you have heard that epic fantasy or video games set in medieval Europe need not include people of color because there weren't any? I love the Medieval PoC blog for introducing simple visual evidence of how people like me were systematically and literally excised from history." So yeah, I think that N.K. "not enough black people in Medieval Europe-based fiction" is a racist. Part of me can't be bothered getting into this, but I feel I should. The problem is that there were black people in Europe, dating from at least the Roman times forward, and there is ongoing archaeological evidence of it. Although many originally went as slaves or conquerors, many later settled or were freed and continued as normal citizens. And again she is correct, not many fantasy stories include them, which I am guessing is why you didn't realise they lived there in that period. I guess I should also point out that humans in entirety originally evolved in Africa before diverse migration. I'm puzzled how you think her comments are even approaching racism. I really don't think you should be casting accusations at people, particularly when they are not there to defend themself, when you don't have a really good knowledge of all the facts. Can I give you 20 thumbs up for that?? I guess one will have to do...

I'm all about if it's a good game or not, which means I'm waiting until we get more information about it before I make the call as to if I'm getting it or not.
but if it's good then yeah, I'll be getting it despite my opinion about a few of the people they've hired.

Don't pay too much attention to TB. I've been following him for 6 years and he has a bias against Bioware if anything. He loved Origins and Jade Empire, but after only 10 hrs of DA2 is happy to announce to the world it's a pile of shit. In reality it takes that long to get going, and when played with Legacy DLC is not too shabby at all. I really enjoy it. He also judges the entirety of ME3 by 'pick a colour, any colour' and the day one DLC. Valid points of course, but in doing so he disregards 40 hours of pretty good gaming. Then for DAI he had, for many consecutive weeks, guests who said they were enjoying the game (including Jesse and Dodger) but loudly declares again and again that it's crap. As if his word is god, while Jesse just shuts up cause you know he liked it.

Okay, first, you're being ridiculous. If you boycotted every company that employed a racist you'd end up sitting on an iceberg butt naked, with nothing but some kelp to nibble on. Second, if the author was stating that there were black ppl in medieval Europe so they should be included in fantasy games, then duhhhh. There have been black ppl in England for 2000 yrs. She's stating a fact, not being an SJW or a racist. But then welcome to the Internet, where one statement leads to accusations of being both a SJW and a racist at the same time. FFS ppl, we're better than this....

About buying Andromeda, I mean. And when I say "recent actions", I'm not just referring to the forum closure (though that is one of them). Between the board closure, hiring an openly racist author (N.K. Jemisin) to pen an official novel, and Manveer Heir's openly racist and hateful tweets and comments (about his own co-workers, no less), have things like these influenced your decision to get the game? Personally, I'm not. Granted, I wasn't terribly sure I ever was going to buy it because of ME3, but those 3 things I listed up above have cemented my choice to not touch Andromeda, because I can't justify spending money on a company who employs people like Jemisin or Heir, it goes against my personal sense of morals. MEA definitely looks like a game that I want to play but oddly enough my opinion of BioWare has dropped SO much in the last 8 or 9 years. It's sickening how shitty their PR is and even worse about how full of shit most of their community team is. Closing the forum at first was a blow but now I'm over it and prefer BSNuf anyways due to the creative and freedom of speech we're more able to exercise here. Unless Andromeda is just terrible or they do something really retarded then I'll more than likely buy Andromeda. BioWare really needs to get their shit straight with their employees and make them shut the fuck up about their feelings on social views. Otherwise fire em', send them packing. SO LEMME TALK TO YA! I'm gonna name some dummies in or formerly BioWare. MANVEER HEIR: DUMMY, YEAH CHRIS PRIESTLY: DUMMY, YEAH MAC WALTERS: DUMMY, YEAH STANLEY WOO: DUMMY, YEAH BIOWARE MOD44234: DUMMY, YEAH CONAL PIERSE: DUMMY, YEAH And that's not an insult. That's just a fact of life!
