You know....the constant complaining towards Sara's face is getting to be kinda offensive.

I think all default females look meh in BioWare games, this is nothing new or any reason to be upset. Customization is key, and I love being able to craft a character look I find interesting or attractive. The only default I have ever used was Dragon Age 2 FemHawke, as she really had a great look.

It could be worse....you might be forced to play a disgusting, craggy MAN, with no choice for a female character like that other obscure RPG. What was it called again? ....Oh yeah, Witcher, that was it.

Nah, most of the criticisms I have seen (and not just here) is that she is ugly. The same for Cora, and Cassandra before that. I can't recall any of the male characters being commented upon thussly.

I agree that some of the animation looks a bit pants, but then Bioware have always been so.

A far cry form the one people choose to use a comparison - obviously she is still pretty, but at least you can start to see the imperfections that photoshop hasn't removed - imperfections everyone has.

I don't trawl the interwebs, looking for arguments about Sara Ryder's face, so can't speak to what the d-bags of the wider web are saying. I only come here to discuss BioWare games. There are always going to be fools who rag on this issue. That doesn't change the fact that it's a strawman when legitimate complaints about the in-game model and animation are shouted down by attempts to defend her looks. People who attempt to turn every discussion into a social issue simply stir up more contentions with their attacks, where none previously existed. That's mostly what I'm seeing on the BSN.

I'd assumed that the pic people are using as a comparison is her profile pic on one or another social networking service. I believe BioWare used it to announce the model, themselves. If so, they kind of asked for that. Either way, it hardly matters. Sara doesn't look like Jayde. She doesn't look very good at all, more importantly. (At least we have some common ground on the animations, at least, for whatever that matters. ) I'll be using the CC, so ultimately Sara's doughy face doesn't even matter. It's just another embarrassing effort from BioWare, is all; and I'm not generally one to give them a hard time.

I find it strange that I typed "Jayde" correctly at least four times, including two instances in the post you quoted, and yet you managed to focus in on the singular instance in which I either mistyped or got autocorrected. Then, you called me a blimey. Charming.

Also for what it is worth I don't think Bioware have ever done a good default protag - even Sheploo came across as creepy. Their efforts towards the female character can be described as piss poor at best, but at least they are seemingly trying as bit more. It's progress.
I for one use the CC anyway.

So true. And this has always been kinda off-putting. You want to create a character that sorta represents yourself as a figure in the game universe... and you wanna fap to... yourself? 

You're right. Bad animations is the real issue but everyone's projecting it to the actual look which does turn it into a social issue. There's a ton of people that actually dislike Sara because she looks ugly, as in, her face.
