It could honestly be just the difference in lighting and angle, but the jaw looks sharper, the nose is smaller, and the nose bridge seems more pulled forward Ok, now I see it. Those are super minor details but I see it.

That may just be for that specific armor, like ME3's Hahne-Kedar chestplate. Hey thats my femshep! This was by far my favorite armor, but not just because of the missing boob cups, the functional and realistic style..... (And way better than Cora's catsuit )

It's probably her best shot. It's Jayde there. But no, of course. Let's hate because it's what the kids are doing right now.

(And way better than Cora's catsuit ) This is basically what my Shep looked like but with the complete set ( and no overlay goggles). Yeah it's easily the best looking armor in the game. Made FemShep really look like a supersoldier of the future.

I've become more convinced that almost all the bad pictures and screen caps of Sara are due to a poor facial rig and bad lighting because her features look exactly the same to me other than makeup and eye colour.

Talking about faping, has anyone actually noticed that Sarah doesn't have a boob plate? Like Whoa! Praise the Goddess for that, boob plate is ugly and unrealistic.

The twins' character kits have been updated btw Yeah. Sara's face looks less distinct now, more average in terms of proportions, which I imagine some people will call a success. I think she's a bit less interesting now. Still not as plain as her brother Scott "white bread" Ryder, who's a good looking guy, yes, just in that inoffensive Nathan Drake friendly dude protagonist sort of way. Edit: Even if I'd prefer more unique faces, I think that they're both great looking young people.

Not trying to sound dramatic, but I really feel like it's getting outta hand. If Sara isn't a decent looking woman, then people need to start telling me just what the hell is, because I would date the shit outta this girl. The reason why I'm getting a tad bit offended by all this though, is because I'm looking at people pick apart little things like "Her nose is too big!" and "Her mouth has weird proportions, and her eyes look derpy." I mean jesus christ if people ever wonder why women obsess over their looks in our society, then here ya go. I'm not here to argue whether or not she looks amazing, but she absolutely doesn't look bad in the true sense of the word, so I don't know why people always gotta exaggerate. Furthermore it's funny that these same people complaining conveniently ignore the fact you can customize the look of your character. Something that's existed in Mass Effect since....um...the first game. Almost 10 years ago. Far as I'm concerned the Sara = Ugly thing is just a shitty meme at this point that people are just hoping on. Let them complain. The thing that should least matter in a female character is her beauty or her looks. She's not a model. She's an astronaut on a mission of high scientific value. Why should her being more or less beautiful value or devalue her as a character? The truth is that the beauty factor shouldn't even be taken into account. Ignore their complaints. These are people stuck in the 19th century, when women were still forced to be beautiful to be valued and loved as human beings. To even be considered women in the first place. Hasn't our society evolved to establish that calling a woman ugly or a whore is no longer a valid form of criticism? That this spans from a patriarchal mentality based on the oppression of women? So there you have it. A bunch of primitive men - and women, too, because some of them are still brainwashed by this harmful philosophy - are using the same old prejudiced arguments to try and devalue the character. The character is ugly is their eyes? Such a pity. As if the character was created to satisfy their personal standards of beauty. Or their sexual fetishes. It WASN'T. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

The face is fine as far as facial structure goes, nothing wrong with Sara there.
What gives off the uncanny valley issue in material released so far have more to do with lighting on the eyeballs, particularly in those character models screnshots they released, and facial animation being kinda poor in standard Bioware fashion.

The word 'Blimey' isn't an insult, it's slang for 'My goodness' or whatever. Just a little FYI. I just saw this belatedly. Of course we all had our laughs, earlier! I actually knew this, though I was having an American moment. (And maybe a BSN moment, too.) I suspect I saw blimey, and it registered as "limey". I thought, "Wow, that was harsh." 🙃

Imma guess the dudebros whining about Sara not being the "idealized beauty" are the same dudebros who used the "turn Isabella white" mod in DA2. Confirm/deny? Not sure. We haven't had either, here, that I've seen. We like Sara's face well enough, but her animations are shite. This sucks, since she's a protagonist. Scott, Cora and Liam all fared better. Thank goodness for the CC. For the record, I love my women in the caramel to dark brown range. A real-life Isabela would cause car accidents.

The character is ugly is their eyes? Such a pity. As if the character was created to satisfy their personal standards of beauty. Or their sexual fetishes. It WASN'T. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ *sigh* What the truth REALLY is, is that it's fiction, we like seeing pretty people in videogames (and other forms of media), that applies to men AND women, not because they are brainwashed, it's because in many respects, they are similar. You see more posts about females mainly because probably like 80% of players of games like Mass Effect are males. It's really not about devaluing someone's character, the looks is pretty much everything to comment on at this stage (again, they are not real people!). When we get our hands on the game ourselves and start playing and knowing the characters, it usually becomes much more quiet on that front because at that point they become more like people to us, not just pictures on the internet. And make no mistake, just because not every character looks like Ken and Barbie, great care is taken to make them attractive. Sex sells. I do however agree on one point, sometimes posts about someone's visuals do get out of hand. A little restraint sometimes would do anyone good.

You drank the kool-aid. You should've read some of the posts in question before falling for the OP's BS. I recommend starting with the post made by the woman whose post is right below yours. You can work backward from there to get an idea of what the complaints are actually. This is not a social issue. BioWare did a bad job animating our woman protagonist. That's the complaint. No one has called Sara any of the names you mentioned, or demeaned women that I've seen on the BSN in connection with this. The criticism has been targeted at BioWare's animators, not "ew, ugly female lead". The consensus seems to be that Sara looks quite alright when not moving or smiling. Bad animation, not persecution of women.
