Racial diversity amongst humans in andromeda?

Well, I'm going to go out on a limb and guess you're the racial majority where you live. And most characters you see on TV, movies, all the heroes, etc. are white. It's easy for you to say it doesn't matter. It's like a rich person saying money doesn't matter to a poor person.

Who's fixated? We're just observing that Bio's designers have been doing a poor job of matching the background characters to either a plausible projection of future population trends or to ME's own lore. It's not like they have to go out of their way to hire extras of different races. It's as easy to get this right as it is to get it wrong. Getting it wrong is a setting consistency fail.

The charitable explanation is that Bio needs to match the demographics of their primary markets. The uncharitable explanation is that nobody there has thought about this.

Are you insinuating that:

- Asian characters should not be allowed to die
- Asian characters should not be written as "loser" characters
- Black characters should never cheat on their significant others?

Be careful with this train of thought... Otherwise the Rock will never be able to eat a plate of chicken in a movie without a White guy eating it right next to him. (Great scene in that movie btw)

My children aren't going to be shunning white or black dolls because they won't grow up believing in that inferiority nonsense that so many others believe. You think those Obama kids feel inferior going to a school with mostly White kids? No. You know why? Because they were TAUGHT to not believe in bullshit like that. They were taught that all people are equal. They aren't worried about race nonsense because they were taught better. So no matter what garbage gets put on TV, or the movies or the internet they know better than to believe it. Indeed there was a time when parents taught their children life skills so that they could live and thrive as adults. Too many people have to google how to tie a tie (myself included) or how to iron a damn shirt as it is but I won't go there right now. At least some one is out there trying to teach this stuff...

The problem here is that the PARENTS are not teaching their children to rise above this garbage and so they just live with it and have kids that make their kids live with it and the cycle goes on and on until something miraculous happens and someone decides to question the things they believe.

Bioware adding Black people to a video game is NOT going to get rid of the inferiority complex. And even though this is really not PC at all, sitting around yelling at a bunch of innocent White people to put some characters in a video game is not going to change anything either. These kids need to be TAUGHT to not believe in such nonsense by teachers and others. But at the end of the day, teachers can't raise anyone's kids for them and the parents need to step up.

Let's take a little head count of the end states of every recognisable non-white characters in the ME Franchise shall we?

Jacob - cheater
Anderson - stereotypical black leader, also dead
Udina - evil, dead
Emily Wong - killed offscreen as part of a marketing campaign
Kai Leng - Evil, loser, dead
Kaleesa al-Jahlani - punched (twice)

Name me one significant Black woman or Asian man (Kai Leng excepted for obvious reasons) in this series. Go on

Jacob Taylor:
- served with the corsairs
- saved a colony of people form being abused by their de facto captain
- protects Cerberus refugees from Cerberus thugs as a bodyguard
- has a wife and a kid on the way

David Anderson:
- you had nothing negative to say about him which speaks volumes and you called him a stereotype which makes no sense at all. Unreasonable

Donnel Udina:
- humanity's ambassador to the council
- fought for human rights and more say in council business
- passes all messages of thanks from ME1 to Commander Shepard personally (not his damn job)
- provides resources to the Alliance Navy

Emily Wong:
- You had nothing negative to say about her either. So she died. People die. That's life. Do Asian people live forever in your limited view of the world? Unreasonable.

Kai Lang:
- He's a bad guy, you're not supposed to like him. Unless of course you think Asian characters are not allowed to be bad guys. Unreasonable.

Kaleesa al-Jahlani:
- stayed on the citadel while reporting the Cerberus coup attempt while trying to request help from C-Sec. Would you do that while bullets were flying?


All these characters did good in the Mass Effect Universe - even Kai Lang. But you continue your ridiculous notion that a flawed minority character is somehow unrealistic or a part of some agenda. None of the people you listed were saints but they all aided humanity in the story. Again you are being unreasonable. Give it a rest sir.
