It really makes you wonder why some people are on a BioWare fan forum if they're only here to whine and spout complete garbage about BioWare... I suggest having things you enjoy rather than defining your life around obsessive hatred of something because other people like it. Being a fan is about more than unconditionally loving something. It's also about giving a shit when the thing you love is being systematically ruined. I don't understand how Mass Effect is being "ruined". I think ME3's ending did a phenomenal job at that. If anything, Andromeda is salvaging a damaged franchise, and it's probably going to be better received than ME3 if anything.

In two days, the OP has posted two fairly negative threads with a pictures that supposedly prove what ME:A's final design/look will be like. I don't think you'll be able to keep this pace up, Wavebend.

Yes, the franchise is damaged because the trilogy didn't have the perfect happy ending no actual Mass Effect fan expected. As much as your worldview revolves around your opinion being the only one that matters, that doesn't change the millions of people who didn't throw a fit over the endings.

Granted the fit I threw over the endings was pretty...spectacular...in hindsight, time, distance, reflection, and growing maturity has hopefully given me some perspective on the issue. And since I am looking forward to MEA, it seems to have worked.

Yes, the franchise is damaged because the trilogy didn't have the perfect happy ending no actual Mass Effect fan expected. As much as your worldview revolves around your opinion being the only one that matters, that doesn't change the millions of people who didn't throw a fit over the endings. There's so much arrogance in your post I don't know where to start... Not having a perfect or a happy ending is not why the ending was received poorly. If the endless supply of critique posts and videos didn't clue you in on that for the past 5 years, nothing I say now will. So are you implying only actual fans of the series should've expected a dreary, poorly written, poorly executed, illogical ending, with a dash of tonal whiplash? How foolish were we to expect them to deliver a quality ending on par with the quality of storytelling the rest of the series had. You're making quite the assumption if you believe that's how I view myself and my opinions. You're pretty damn touchy over people's distaste of the ending. There's a reason why ME3 has a bad reputation in the gaming community. It wasn't just fans who voiced their disapproval of the ending. Sci-Fi writers have chimed in on how poorly written it was. Television shows like Silicon Valley have referenced it in a negative light. Were there people who enjoyed the ending? Yes, everyone knows that. But there was an overwhelming amount of people who didn't. Even Bioware themselves have admitted it was a mistake. They didn't outright say it, but they've implied it on more than one occasion. So I won't act like the opinions of those who enjoyed it don't matter, but please don't do the same to us either. When I say the franchise has been damaged, that's not me basing that on my personal opinion, but on the way Mass Effect is looked upon from the gaming community as a whole.

Not having a perfect or a happy ending is not why the ending was received poorly. The people who are wrong on every bit of whining they make about the endings but praise an illogical "theory" that revolves around entirely around deluding yourself into thinking there is a "right" option that doesn't involve any sort of sacrifice (and that people who think differently aren't just wrong but are completely stupid) says otherwise. One writer for a mid-tier sci-fi show and one line that was mocked by most viewers for being stupid are totally representative of the entire fandom. The difference between the millions of people who liked the endings and the few thousand who didn't is that the former group hasn't spent five years spouting their opinion every chance they get, without a shred of respect for people who never even asked for their opinions.

At least for me. Still kinda suck. Wish we had better endings but can't do anything now. So many things should have been different. It;s funny cause they did the EXACT opposite of what us fans wanted. I would have loved to fight TIM as a reaper creature.

Speaking of endings and DA:I in space... When ME3 first came out, I had a crackpot theory that the Catalyst was actually Morrigan's Old God Baby from Dragon Age: Origins. My new crackpot is that the big whatever it is in the middle of the Helius Cluster is a actually a giant portal that can be accessed by using the Eluvians in Dragon Age.

EDIT: I thought you pointed out something else. That's kinda lazy but it's nothing extraordinary. They also reused the Banshee screams for the Terror Demons in DA:I. When it comes to animations specifically I'm kinda immune considering just how many ME1 animations has been used in every game for 10 years now. BioWare are very lazy when it comes to game design and animations.

I think the 'scan three glyphs' quest is more indicative of it being similar to DA:I.

I think the 'scan three glyphs' quest is more indicative of it being similar to DA:I. Yeah, because we never had those before in ME games, right? I'm concerned about this and it'll means they didn't learn much of DAI if there's a lot of those, but one quest alone isn't enough to compare the two, because every Bioware game had those.

The only thing we do not know is if the fetch quest in question is a part of a larger story or not. If it connects. Which is the main problem with Inquisition, it didn't connect to anything. That and the repeitious nature of some of its quests. But we just do not know if the collecting glyphs is one part of a larger objective or if its one quest which ties into a story. Because yes, pretty much all of BioWare had a fetch quest here and there.

The quest is linked to making the area habitable: Seems like a repeatable / radiant quest for settlements to me.

The quest is linked to making the area habitable: Seems like a repeatable / radiant quest for settlements to me. It's not necessarily a radiant quest, each possible settlement location might have different side quests for colony establishment. My concern there is the amount of 3s I see, I hope these quests aren't too repetitive.

Says the person claiming that EA doesn't care about new IPs on the fan site for a developer working on a new IP. You're just here to be a sociopath to actual Mass Effect fans, so I don't think I'll care about what you think. Yep, only BioWare staff would be calling you people out on being sociopathic liars. You do know how pathetic it makes you look to anyone who doesn't live in a world of delusion in order to support their psychotic campaign against BioWare and their actual fans five years later?

Vanguarddokenm may I suggest a more judicious use of punctuation? You're sentences make my eyes bleed. And no, if quest structure in ME:A in anyway resemble DA:I I think that it would become a horrible, repetitive, ubisoftesque shitshow. Which is pretty much what DA:I is. Of course DA:I also has the further distinction of being some 14 year old girl's wank fantasy.
