The marketing isn't reflective on the actual game though. I agree the marketing has been bad, but we've known for awhile now that they were gonna go full steam with the marketing a month before release, as people like Shinobi have said. That doesn't excuse the bad marketing from earlier, but if what we're seeing now is the real marketing push, not many people are gonna deny they're off to a good start. The Combat trailer was met with widely enthusiastic and positive reception. From what I've seen so far, the characters seem like they could be interesting, the game looks beautiful, the combat looks fun, and the story seems to have the themes of discovery and exploration from ME1, with the lighthearted personal tone of ME2. So I have not been seeing any red flags with the actual content Bioware has revealed. The only time I cringed was Sara's facial animation in the VGA trailer. But I'm not overly worried about that because they supposedly polished facial animations a bit better since then, and in all honesty, the trilogy had it's moments of bad face animations too. If I could get over it then, I'll get over it now. Indeed there is a lot of potential in all the aspects you mentioned (characters, story, etc). We'll see how the final product turns out When I look at DA:I, I think that came very close to being a great game, but they made one serious misstep with it's overabundance of pointless filler. But what else was there in the game was pretty well done. If assuming the developers of ME:A didn't do anything really stupid by having one glaring flaw to the game that drags it down, I really think ME:A will end up being their best game in a while. It could easily be better received by fans than ME3. Some might say that's a low bar, but even then I would still classify that as a good thing. However, yes we'll have to see how the final product turns out. Until then, hopefully guys like you won't mind my desire to defend the game when I feel the need.

No problem. Here's an open world game from 10 years ago I LOVE that area! I just use the infinite ammo hack & give myself the rocket launcher to obliterate that place from that very spot. I LUUUUUUUV watching the shacks just implode. Having said that, I'll refrain from voting until I actually play the game. If I aim too high, I'll get disappointed. If I aim too low, my first play experience might be tainted because of the negativity.

There are certainly valid arguments for the game just as there are against it. Don't let me stop you from defending the game. Feel free to defend it as much as you want if you feel like what's being argued is not backed up with enough evidence, logic, and valid points. I'm here originally to help with the twitter, thread and to read other people's views

What are you doing on BSN? Seriously though, I agree with pretty much with everything you said. I hope the game will turn out great, but I'm prepared to the option that it will not be, and that the lessons of DA:I are not learned. We will all have to wait and see at release, hopefully the game will not be a buggy mess (my biggest concern ATM). I'm surprised there is someone here who I actually share my opinion about DA:I. I think DA:I got dragged down by the previous gen consoles, over-ambitiousness, and lack of experience with the FB3 engine. It had many things going for it though. There is alot to learn from this game and I hope Bioware did.

Since I have read the thread and seen that everything that I would say have already been said, I have 2 things to say: 1. I can't believe that I actually agree with dutchsghost7 so I assume I have enter an alternative reality. 2. On the thread topic, only this gif can describe my emotion. Thanks for the laugh anyway. I spent hours just throwing around things and collapsing the buildings, and I also tried playing catch with the boat in the water by throwing explosive barrels at it.

The General discussion section is just people crying about everything about a game unreleased seems legit............ It was such a breath of fresh air when the Combat Trailer released and everyone was positive for a change. But 48 hours later people get bored and it's back to the same old pessimism. Maybe because I am not reading every thread and it's comments in detail like I did in the past, but I got nothing but an impression people are positive and excited for the game here.

I definitely understand your disappointment, but I don't have enough information about the landscapes/planets displayed to really pass judgment. If the areas you posted are from sparsely populated planets, then there wouldn't be need for eye candy especially in relation to the desert planets. Even so I'm pretty sure you're probably just annoyed by the lack of good detail in some of these shots. I will say that it is strange how (in the second picture) the rocks in the background look better than those closer to the Pathfinder. Overall I think the game will be fine and i'm glad we're being given a larger number of more open environments like those they gave us in ME1. Never understood why they went away from that in ME2 & ME3. I'm going to push my PC's graphics card to the limit either way.

I agree that most of the environments we've seen so far haven't really inspired me (though the ice planet at night looks pretty damn cool). But overall not as interesting (to me) as the environments in DAI. That may be deliberate though, leaving the cool stuff for us to find in-game. Maybe all we need to do is turn around in one of those desert shots to see this... cdn3.dualshockers.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/11/CTPF8OHWsAA4Zgi.jpgAlso, in those combat videos, perhaps it was recorded in these barren areas to better showcase the combat itself (without a distracting environment)? That said, if we have to explore a bunch of barren desert worlds dotted with simple locations like those we've seen, that's gonna get old... fast. And I'm going to be more than a little disappointed.

There might be technical issues with rendering heavily detailed environments at the speed of the Nomad.

Beautiful looking skybox there: It is pretty neat, but did you notice they dropped the star pattern right on top of the planet, and forgot to mask it out? (Of course, the PS guy in me just wants to nitpick it apart. Don't hate me! I could point out that the light source is different for each of the 3 planets/moons, no cast shadow from the satchel on her hip, and wondering if that's motion blur or a stretched texture in the sky...)I like her hair though!

What I find worrying is that we see two of the exact same objectives in two entirely different environments (see pictures 3 and 4). This makes it look to me as if we will be performing several of the exact same mission types on multiple planet, which would be a bummer as I can't be bothered to do the same thing over and over again.

Yeah, but then again it's not really the gameplay people are worried about, at the very least not the shooting gameplay.

You're not the only one. Although in general the gameplay trailer gathered more positive comments then the previous ones, not only here. Yeah, but then again it's not really the gameplay people are worried about, at the very least not the shooting gameplay. Well, some where concerned on the gameplay too. But I agree that story concerns were/are more present.
