On a related topic, Ian said that they'll explain how squad commands work in the next video, and that he'll clarify later on if something won't be clear. Do you think there's the possibility is a bit complicated/complex? The pause feature to issue power commands has been removed for sure, but we also do know two new features have been introduced. Profiles and Favorites. It's entirely possible that with the addition of Profiles and Favorites, and the removal of Global Cooldown, that not only would pausing to choose squad powers break up the flow of combat, it could also create an unbalance. If you and your squadmates all have a 3 Power Loadout with no GC, then that's potentially 4 Combos you can execute in a short amount of time, if you had control over squadmates powers. I can see how that could make fights a lot easier. I'm not talking about that. They did say there are ways to order our squadmates to move, attack or use powers (in a generic way). They'll how that in the next video. I just wonder if the system is actually complex based on what Ian said.

They had uses before? There was satisfaction in consciously making sure my warp collided with Miranda's pull that I made her do, and though their weapons only had like 30% damage to the player's their abilities rocked as much as your own and some squadmates had their own special abilities too, like Miranda's slam which wasn't unlockable at first, and it was cool being able to select that. It's not the end of the world, it's just a change that is harmless to anyone who didn't use the system before but needlessly worse for those who did. We can only hope that our squadmates will try to use their abilities sensibly now, and attempt to complete power combos for us now. Otherwise, I expect people will start to monoboat their squadies to make sure they always use the same sets of "ideal" abilities, which in turn are "easy" setups to finish off. And that would make game play a lot more boring I'm afraid. Save
