I agree with your assessment that the trial will be key in finding out whether or not the game is in a good state, but there have been very few signs that this is the case, regardless of the potential reach of the trial.

Nose-diving and burning up every time did not teach Obsidian a thing. Every time they scrap cash to put themselves back together they make exact same darn game with exact same things that did not work for them in the past. I frigging love BioWARE. Andromeda will end up being an experimental failure like NWN1? I'll leave it be and check out the new IP. If both won't deliver, I will stop playing new games for a few years again. Big deal. Life's on, and all that.

It's all good know, no worries. I got concerned because multiplayer was my safety net. That even if the story sucks (unlikely) that I will still have multiplayer. I hadn't had to consider if this game was worth the risk in pre-ordering because of my belief in that. I want to get my hands on this game and the fact that my safety net was showing fraying caused concern. A completely reasonable reaction.

I'm getting early access and will use it almost exclusively for MP. Myself and others will upload lots of gameplay footage and you'll be able to judge for yourself. Since I'm a kraut, if my games with any of the burgers turn out to be total lag fests, then you'll know there's a problem. Enough time to cancel your preorder, fly to Montreal and take a shit on Bioware's doorstep.

I sunk over 1000 hours into ME3 and that game had lots of issues. The only other game I spent that much time on is Mountain Blade. I definitely got more than my money's worth with those games and if Andromeda multiplayer is just nearly as good as ME3 multiplayer, then I'll be a smug alien pepe.

Been a fan for many years, when the owners of Bioware sold out to EA I saw a lot of things changing I didn't really care for, many of us had become friends with developers on the forum, some of us had the opportunity to play with them also, it was hard to take when support simply stopped for the game I had come to love and it was almost impossible near the end to play pugs at higher levels due to cheating. But if we look at ME3, that game came a long way both single player and MP. Personally I am very hopeful they will just build on that. There is going to be bugs and glitches no question what we need to do is see how long it taes them to fix these issues.

Before using the term "sold out to EA" you might want to actually research what happened instead of just repeating something that is incorrect.

BioWare and Pandemic joined forces to create a publisher by using a private equity firm, EA approached that private equity firm and paid them almost double what they had loaned BioWare and Pandemic for their controlling interest. If anything it was more of a hostile takeover then BioWare selling out.

Most of these MP-focused people though also play SP.
I like to think of MP as an addition to the experience, but not the experience in and of itself.

Most of these MP-focused people though also play SP.
I like to think of MP as an addition to the experience, but not the experience in and of itself.

About half the people I played ME3MP with on console and about half on PC both haven't touched the SP campaign passed Palaven.

I met a guy at a potluck, weirdly enough, who said him and his friends bought the game solely for the MP.

I think there are more people that fall into that category than people realize. Representation on the forums is not indicative of the general audience. I'd even go so far as to say its actually counter it at times.
