Rock, Paper, Shotgun critical Preview and Skill Up response

It seems a bit over the top, like the writer has something to prove or whatever, I'd suggest people wait for the actual reviews, or don't even. Like reviews tend to be either overly favourable or overly negative these days anyway.

There's plenty of stuff out there showcasing the early parts of the game, seems like some of it is good and some of it is not so good from what I have seen. No need for me to go off someone else's opinion.

Well, it was bound to happen sooner or later. Like everything, its a matter of opinion. I'm sure the haters will quote this line for line as to why Bioware is surely dead this time. But for me, I like what I've seen of the game so far. I watched a youtuber stream a couple hours of gameplay and it just screams Mass Effect to me. The gameplay looks fun and the characters are interesting. For my money, Bioware's got my attention.

So one bad preview doesn't dissuade me in the slightest.

Doesn't that bias you against alternate opinions though? You expect it to be good and thus dismiss things which say to the contrary?

Its interesting how different those two people seem to experience the same Game... Subjectivity is always a huge part but its rare that you get totally contradictinary statements.

The Kotaku Writer says the Characters are Interesting, as are the Side Quests. Its exactly the opposite.. interesting..

As I commented on the article, a lot of the criticisms can be levelled at DA:I too, which they are using as a template/inspiration.

Yep.  I've historically like Bioware games so, in my mind, they're good until they're proven not to be (by me ).

I know you weren't attacking me, Vonuber (your question was perfectly reasonable), but it's like when I got called a "Naughty Dog fanboy" on another site.  You're friggin right I am.  They make great games.  Ditto Bioware.  I'm fully open to the idea that MEA will be a dud, but from my POV, that'll be going against a long list of great games.  I don't approach games from the point of view of a critic, and I'm not looking to punch holes in the end result like this reviewer.  I just want to be entertained.  If MEA can do that, I'll be happy.

Your own review is the only one that really counts.

Well he's not the only one. Peter Brown on the Bombcast today was pretty down on the game too.

Like others have said...this seems like the kind of thing that happens when the reviewer has some kind of personal vendetta against the game/company in question. 

He's trying too hard imitating Smudboy.
