From my point of view? Poor character writing, a rushed and exposition heavy opening, poor character introductions, continuity of overplayed tropes from the OT, another goddamn desert, DA:I in Space approach to exploration, and then of course, the animations and CC Not sure how you can say poor character writing when EA Origins Access barely covers the beginning of the game. The introductions of drack and Vetra were better than most in any of the old games. There's so much more life to them. You knew there would be two worlds as deserts. Eledin is the other. We knew it was open word exploration similar to DA:I but even bigger. Animations we can agree on. Everything else seems pretty baseless which is what I'm seeing from most of the negative previews And opening is fine. Would you really want them to start the RPG elements after playing the game for hours? What did you expect? Another Assassins Creed 3 with an 8 hour prologue?

There's really nice Ryders. The problem is that the CC seems to want to fight us every step of the way.

The majority of opinions I've seen have been positive tbh. In my own personal experience, I've absolutely loved it. I played the first mission to get try out the character creation and new combat system, but I won't be going any further until release so I can fully enjoy the experience. I'm as excited as ever.
Although the character creator is limited compared to past iterations, I've found I could make a good looking Ryder much easier. After having a play around for a bit I made a few great looking Ryders, and then managed to make a Donald Glover lookalike in about 10 minutes.
Combat is amazing. Sure the controls are really clunky at first, but I got used to them after half an hour. In the grand scheme of a 100-hour plus game, that's nothing. The movement feels great, and it has a lot more depth than previous systems.
Overall, the game feels like Mass Effect, and that's what I was most excited about.
Personally, I think gaming communities nowadays tend to make mountains out of molehills. Most complaints I've seen have been to do with subjective or relatively insignificant matters, but of course that makes it the worst Bioware game yet.

I normally completely ignore other people's opinions because there are too many salty retards in the gaming scene. I've preordered the deluxe edition, have NOT touched early access and have NOT watched any streams or vids aside from official gameplay ones released by EA/Bioware. BUT - I'm hearing A LOT of negative feedback pretty much across the board. Due to personal reasons, I'm not feeling much excitement in general so I don't have high expectations, deciding to make up my mind after I play it myself. So, hit me. What's wrong with Andromeda? Try to keep it all legible. Spare me the spoilers and keep it simple. I'm a fairly picky and critical and I would say besides the weird facial animations and more limiting Character Creator, the game looks great. It is a bit slower very much like ME1 introducing all the gameplay aspects, races, etc and it has the same structure of ME in terms the whole eden prime then go to the citadel, but it's also very much it's own thing. Expecting it to be like ME2 or ME3's opening is just dumb. It has its own tense moments but it's definitely at a slower stride. Expect it to be much more open explorable areas for the Nomad portions and more narrow with several deviating/ alternate routes during main story missions. I will say I was hoping the game was more seamless but at least the losing screens are cleverly hidden again like ME1

That's what I remember from when I played. Could be something more that I've forgotten.

I'm a scientifically minded person, I am not going to dismiss something without testing it thoroughly first. And it's not accurate to say I hate the game. I hate the setting and how it has ruined the franchise's lore (which directly impacts ME:A's story), but the game is so much more than that. With that said, even if I don't hate the game, there aren't a whole lot of things to like. The things I did like are the combat, the jetpack, the graphics (minus human faces and hair) and the Nomad. I found the Kett+Remnant storyline to be somewhat interesting, and I hope BioWare is able to deliver on that. The Nexus+Habitats storyline, not so much. Biggest problem with the story right now is that it isn't believable or clever. The Andromeda Initiative is propped up by some pretty big asspulls on the writers part. Plus, Andromeda as a galaxy has almost no bearing on the story. The Heleus Cluster could be located in the Milky Way and it would change almost nothing besides dialogue. That's not good.

I had a great time in the trial SP, lively combat (looking forward to being more badass, can see potential) loved the story and writing, good characters, wasn't fussed about the faces/lips issue people seem obsessed by, found the character creator fine actually, quite like the slow crafting/exploration process. Bit overwhelmed by crafting options. Weapons alone I think there are 750 craftable weapon recipes. There's also Armour and Augmentations to craft. And each one needs multiple ingredients.

The animations look absolutely awful from what little I have seen and the CC seems really barren. Honestly, I want to get it but hell I'm still playing Zelda so I might just wait for full reviews.

Honestly, it's not that bad. People gotta love complaining and whine about everything kek
Story is good and in a few minutes you need to know more. Characters are pretty sweet. The combat is super fun. The jetpack is love, the jetpack is life. The animations are not as bad as people are saying... Maybe a few characters are a bit rough but not bad.
I dont know man. I had fun. This feels like a ME game. Didn't get any DAI vibe. Im gonna play this game for +150h for sure!

Only on BSN and reddit is everyone freaking out that most people are saying game is bad, when in reality overwhelming majority of people who played the game are enjoying it a lot. Positives outweigh the negatives, plus most of those negatives can be patched out. In fact, CC is gonna get updated after launch.
It's almost as if Internet gives completely false interpenetration of reality for someone's agenda.

This is not much different than ME3 in gameplay and quality. I don't think its that bad.

I liked DA:I as well, but I want to play a ME game, not DA:I in space I guess every semi open-world is now a DAI clone. The Witcher 3 : Wild Inquisition Deus Ex : Human Inquisition Inquisition Of Mordor. DAI is the new SJW & "Bad Writing."

I've played for about 4 hours now. First things first: insanity really looks insane. I died immediately in the first fight. I died quite a lot. The enemy's aim is sharp and your health and shields low. Good. And the small bit of the game I played just left me wanting more, of everything. There's so much to do, so much to collect, totally my kind of game. I didn't find the animations that annoying to be honest. Dialogue felt very natural. But I didn't get that far into the game, because I don't want to get too hooked yet and it's kinda pointless, as I'll be playing the full game on my PS4 and not on my PC, so my progress won't be stored anyway (I had to scale down to medium settings to get my unstable PC to not crash...and I can tell, medium setting do not look good.. at all )

Personally I have been enjoying this game so much since landing on the intro planet till I was forced to stop on Eos. Really my only main complaint is the lackluster cc but on the upside I can finally be Asian. Personally I just got use to the animations but I will say the animation is still a huge step up from me3 and not just the facial animations either. Also, the combat has gotten more challenging and I love this coming from Vanguard god mode in me3 lol.
