BUT - I'm hearing A LOT of negative feedback pretty much across the board. Due to personal reasons, I'm not feeling much excitement in general so I don't have high expectations, deciding to make up my mind after I play it myself.
So, hit me. What's wrong with Andromeda? Try to keep it all legible. Spare me the spoilers and keep it simple.

The spoiler free reviews at the top of the board are probably the best place to look.
Basically, there are some glaring flaws, but I still find it fun. Character Creator, lack of free saves on critical path missions, facial animations, apppears unoptimized for PC. But, again, still enjoying it.

From my point of view?
Poor character writing, a rushed and exposition heavy opening, poor character introductions, continuity of overplayed tropes from the OT, another goddamn desert, DA:I in Space approach to exploration, and then of course, the animations and CC

There's too much that isn't good that I can't call it a good game. 5/10, 6/10 sort of thing.
Like, its just too DAI with space paint. But less polish than DAI had, which really surprised me.
I played on PC with a pinch nicer of a kit than their recommendation, and I still had some issues with performance.
Some of the decision making in terms of features in/out I just can't wrap my head around.

The biggest complains are about the CC and some facial animations. It's just a few people who dislike and tend to be more vocal because you know all the others are playing he game.

Well I'll say you shouldn't have pre-ordered but because of a separate issue than what your asking for. That said from what I've seen I will buy it once my new rig gets here I could barely play because my computer is a toaster so I will get to enjoy the glory of the game at 60fps on ultra (I hope, it's very likely but ya never know).

I complained about the CC limitations and quickly moved past it when I started playing the trial. I had noticed the facial animations were better and seemed to be more expressive than previous games. (The brows actually crinkle!) If this is the trade-off, then I'm OK with it. (They do need to fix the eyebrows though. They don't match the selected hair color as it stands so you're stuck with whatever the preset comes with.)
I have been thoroughly enjoying the game. I stayed spoiler free for the most part and have felt the full impact of pivotal scenes. I did get overwhelmed with combat because there was so much information being thrown at me that I was missing stuff, but it got easier as I went along. I don't feel pressured to scan for everything or to do every little side quest. (I liked DAI, too, so the DAI-in-space complaints have no effect on me either.)
If there is one thing to complain about, it's this: 10 hours is not enough. I'll be going in withdrawal for the rest of the weekend. =p I liked it better with the ME3 demo. Even though there was a hard cap in how far you could go, there was no time restriction. I get wary of reading reviews of others from the trial because I don't know how far they've gotten in their game compared to how far I got. I don't even know where the stopping point is because I did not have enough time to reach it myself.

j/k
I don't know I don't have it yet and I've given up on parsing the reviews/early feedback. We'll see in a week.

Not really.
It has issues, but no more than I've had with any BioWare release really.

I honestly don't get the hate, hate the facial animations are not that great, but who cares? I would rather have great story graphics and gameplay or that, and you get taht, I'm having so much fun with this game so far, I played DAI, no idea how people are comparing this to that.

I finally caved and checked out videos myself.
No, it's not that bad. A few lines of dialogue with poor delivery and janky facial animations are legitimate problems in some respects, and for the life of me one issue I've seen that has not been addressed is the map screen being a bit overly ambitious and taking too long to do basic functions.
What calmed me was most of the interactions on the Nexus, outside of some sub par voice work in side npcs the Nexus stuff had good side content, it felt very mass effect 1 to me.
Combat is very good, sound design overall is solid, and there is enough in game to justify you to keep going. I think the main arc of the story is playing it safe, but honestly I expected that going in.
I'd give it a 7 on a scale from 1 to 10 from what I saw. When I actually have it in my hands well see how it plays out.

I played 5 hours. The start, prologue planet, initial talkyness (I'm trying to stay away from anything remotely spoilery). I didn't start the Tempest and the bigger planet part of the trial, but I feel pretty confident I nearly completely covered everything you could do before that.
No, its not that bad.
But it nearly proves to me that I won't consider the game a 10/10. But I'm not sure if I'd even give any previous ME game a 10/10. Maybe ME2? Sorta? Bioware games never scream perfection to me, yet still get to be on my favorites list.
Of the content I did so far, it was at least a 7/10. So it was good, but not the most compelling.
There's the potential for the full game to be at least a 8/10, and that's with all warts considered.
I hope it gets that potential, but also more that really rocks my world, so I can consider it around a 9/10 and just have a blast overall.
The CC is disappointing and I want a fix and expansion to it. The animation is in a bizarre state of sometimes better than ever, while often stuck in the past or downright gross. I'm close to insisting on a major patch that focuses just on this. It'd help the state of the game in the long run (mixed with DLC, in a collection-pack version). The writing is... good but bad but intriguing but spotty? I could use so many words, good and bad, to describe it so far. There is potential for something I'll really love (even if I end up yawning at the structure of main plot), or it could be the most boring filler of a Bioware game in a series, ever. Characters may end up being the most generally endearing (or fascinating, etc) in a single BW game ever or in a long time, or they could be a sad attempt at doing a full-game version of Citadel DLC fanservice.
There's too much unknown, so I can just tell you, its almost certainly not what I'd ever call a 6/10 and I am very sure that I won't call it a 10/10. It'll be good to great. How great will depend on how much faults get minimized/fixed over playtime/patches, and it'll depend in how the journey progresses and ends. There's plenty of nice things to see here.
Oh and something came to mind - I like the scanner so far, and all the NPCs everywhere, and just the sense of 'place' that is happening. It may not be employed the best, but its there and it feels much expanded on from the trilogy. It makes me lament the idea of the Milky Way treatment never getting this sort of expansion.
