How in the hell did you make a caucasian character? Female preset 9 isn't pictured here. She doesn't look African American to me, but gives you a Morgan Freeman looking dad. The Bro preset 9 looks hardcore AA though. It's really the only one I could make into a semi looking me. I can't figure out how to post a pic from my iPad or I would show you.

I think a much better system would be if they let us choose the preset for our father, not have the game choose based on what we make. They should make thse fixes along with the other CC.

I can't make a pale skinned asian/korean that looks like me either. I don't know why they didn't consider lighter options and even some of the darker skins are not that dark. It's brown shades with little gradient choice on the opposite ends of the slider.

I can hear Manveer Heir laughing as he's reading this thread. Yea, sure, until he realizes this also means that if a person changes the skin tone of a white preset to black, they will end up with white Alec. It doesn't help anybody.

Considering the orginal trilogy was a White-Nationalist Valhalla it makes sense that the Andromeda series will be an all out mixed race utopia.
So far I haven't seen much light skinnned Caucasoids outside of the default Ryders and Cora. Most seems to have mostly caucasian features but with an unnatural orangebrown skin colour.

An utopia that seams to have failed from the start, I might add... make of that whatever you will. Good thing the white default Ryders are there to fix it all... Sorry, at this point all I can do is joke about it...

I would think the easiest way to fix this is for Alec's preset to track some of your options and follow it. If you choose skin color 6 for preset 9, Alec uses skin color 5-7.

Wait wait wait. I don't have early access, so can someone explain this to me? You can't make a character as pale (or paler) than the default Ryders? If so, there's another reason why they should have let us edit them! Ugh. Or, you know, given us a freaking decent CC

To be fair, color and lighting is generally all over the place in basically all areas of the game.
It seems like they made the game with 10bit color in mind but forgot that 95~99% of the people don't actually have an "HDR" display yet.

If so, there's another reason why they should have let us edit them! Ugh. Or, you know, given us a freaking decent CC The CC definitely skews darker. The slider is actually different on the different presets too. I used male Preset 5 for the basis of the guy in my profile pic. And my guy is the lightest that this preset can get: And his father was definitely not a default black guy. His skin tone did not seem much darker than my character (and seemed lighter than the preset, but I can't be sure). When I used this preset, I was able to make him pretty pale. Even more pale than the guy I'm using who seems more tan than pale. But this preset gives you really severe crow's feet wrinkles. I don't mind wrinkles, but these are pretty jarring and not well done, so I had to scrap the guy I made here (no pics saved, unfortunately). But he was a few clicks paler than the preset.

I like to make pale characters, often with freckles, like this: I know I can't do the latter, but maybe I can make something acceptable. Wish we weren't put in this less-than-ideal position.

Yeah, me too. To be honest, I think this thread is just a whole bunch of hyperbole and butt hurt, though. I've been able to make pale characters based on several presets. I've made five characters (four Scotts and one Sara) and all of the Scotts have been white. With the exception of my current guy not being quite as pale as I'd like (again, he comes across as a tan white guy versus a pale white guy), I haven't had any issues with skin color. And I've met Alec with three of those Scotts and his skin tone has been totally comparable in every case. But, yeah, the CC is not great. I never realized how important some of the basic stuff is until it's gone (like adjusting eye size -- that one just baffles me). It really very much limits how far away from the default face you can go. But I'm only planning three playthroughs (one per m/m LI and one with Sara as the PC), so I only need to make three attractive male faces. I made two (my guy and the twin for my Sara), but I'm not super confident about the third one. I wasn't even able to finish the trial because I played a little MP, spent a huge amount of time trying to beat the CC into submission, and then started over after the prologue planet when I decided that I just couldn't stand my original Scott (based on the blond default that I posted above). And I ran out of time so I couldn't get to the end point (was probably about an hour or two away). On a plus side, I've had ZERO issues with making great looking Sara's. I've made five (a twin for each of the four Scott's I made and my PC Sara) and they were all great looking and I was super happy with all of them. So that's good.
