The CC definitely skews darker.  The slider is actually different on the different presets too.  I used male Preset 5 for the basis of the guy in my profile pic.



And my guy is the lightest that this preset can get:


And his father was definitely not a default black guy.  His skin tone did not seem much darker than my character (and seemed lighter than the preset, but I can't be sure).

When I used this preset, I was able to make him pretty pale.  Even more pale than the guy I'm using who seems more tan than pale.  But this preset gives you really severe crow's feet wrinkles.  I don't mind wrinkles, but these are pretty jarring and not well done, so I had to scrap the guy I made here (no pics saved, unfortunately).  But he was a few clicks paler than the preset.

Yes, because it's not cool when it happens to anybody.

i just find it a little amusing that bioware has created a cc where you can successfully create a protag of other races...

Have you tried it? I mean, you can get white-ish, but not like the defaults. I just want the slider to go a couple shades lighter and then I'll be happy. Look at the default skin and then make a preset character at the lightest skin tone you can and tell me what you think.

Again, this isn't a deal breaker for me. I made a bombass babe last night who I'll probably stick with till the end, but it does annoy and I don't think it's a non-issue.

They've done this with every game. Only, with the other games you had more options.
