I'm enjoying MP - yes, that's right, some of us didn't gobble up the 10 hours in one or two goes. I still have about half my time left. Teach me your self-restraint. The moment I started the single player I could not bring myself to stop! Heh - I admit I posted with a smug smile (was looking for the emoji with the halo - interestingly there's a devil on this site but no halo). I'm rationing myself to about 2 hours per night. I'm in the UK so don't get the main game till 23rd anyway so I should keep myself ticking over until release. Well, maybe not entirely but I have two long work days on Tuesday and Weds anyway and am not usually much in the mood to play anything on those days.

I'll just have to find ways to amuse myself for the time being. Thankfully, the game is less than a week away at this point. Not too much more waiting is required. It's been a long five years waiting for this game...

No. No i did not. My in-depth post i made yesterday explains why... Yes it is bad. But the thing is whilst the most talked about aspect, the animations, although they are indeed awful and immersion breaking, are actually hardly the worst of the game's problems imo. To me this game is a mess in many more aspects, apsects that greatly effect ones enjoyment and matter far more than the facial animations. You've got to contend with... .Fan fiction level, cringe af, tween, inane, Z-list hack writing.
.Badly delivered, stilted dialogue.
.Rehashed, reused, nonsensical, self contradicting and very contrived plot that lacks any new, interesting or refreshing takes on meaty political and cultral intrigue n exploration and richness one would expect of being set in such a epic, far off new setting with this large a scope. (Personal Thoughts: It all feels just feels a bit old hat imo. I was thinking whilst watching and now having played it myself.. Why even bother going to Andromeda to begin with then if its just the same shit we've been there and done that and got the t-shirt etc?. The same shit but only not as interesting because the characters are nowhere near as compelling. Of course we know why we're going there, but it all just feels a bit pointless to me. There's no good reason for the game to even be set here, and then they fail to actually take advantage of this new setting any way).
.Lore pretty much retconned/ignored and too much of what should be important info and questions just hand waved away
.Asking for way too much suspension of disbelief
.Poor world building
.MMO style fetch quests
.Too much asset reuse and even using assets found on image search, instead of creating their own
.Broken AI
.Tons of content but with no depth to it(wide as an ocean deep as a puddle syndrome) etc The most damning thing for me though is that Mass Effect Andromeda it continues DA:I's singleplayer MMO structure, and that to me is a complete no go, as I feel like an MMO structure is just admitting defeat of single-player game design, showing that the player is just there for a streamlined grind. Its a design by committee feel to things. And it's a wrong formula to follow, especially so for Mass Effect. Honestly i cant believe how anybody at Bioware, all the interns and writers who cant write who made this game could be happy with the finished product they're putting out here for us. It decidedly does not cut the musturd in 2017, in a post Mass Effect 2, Fallout: New Vegas and post Witcher 3 world. Its just not good enough. And tbh this is no longer Mass Effect to me, its something else entirely at this point. And its no longer something i find myself liking either. This will be a wait till its cheap buy for me. Im still gonna play at somepoint though, as large scale science fiction rpgs are not exactly in abundance but i wont be rushing out to buy it. I just have to admit that these games are not for me or my tastes anymore. Im not the audience Bioware/EA are aiming for and want with Mass Effect Andromeda. So yeah thats my two cents.

Yeah I loved it. A few issues but nothing that damages my enjoyment. Only encountered 1 bug and a reload fixed it. Loved my 10 hours and can't wait for Thursday.

I don't have any early access/time trial to try but from what I've seen while people have been vocal about the problems that there are in the game the overall vote is that its still pretty dam good.

No. No i did not. My in-depth post i made yesterday explains why... So yeah thats my two cents. That's too bad. Well, BioWare can't please everyone. Being a fan of Mass Effect from the very beginning, myself, I'm enjoying MEA quite a bit. There are definitely some questionable game design choices, but I don't have any issue with the plot or the story. Originality is a trivial thing considering there really isn't anything truly original in storytelling. What makes a great story is taking something that has been done before and reinventing it in a new and refreshing light. I don't have any early access/time trial to try but from what I've seen while people have been vocal about the problems that there are in the game the overall vote is that its still pretty dam good. That's my overall feeling. There are some issues with the game design, but overall it's a great product that I think most fans are going to love and enjoy for many hours. It's not perfect, but then again when were any of the Mass Effect games perfect? Hopefully, some of these lingering issues can be patched and updated at some point.

I didn't even use up my 10 hours. But I did spend quite a bit of time in MP. Despite some minor issues with lag and disconnects, it was a lot of fun.

Yes and no?
I love it. Great characters, I'm already in love with half of my crew, dialogue and my Sara. I'm in love with Andromeda, as a protagonist, I have a sense of purpose after those 10h and I'm curious about every planet, the rest of the story and all that.
And no, because all those bugs... Were really irritating, I'm not even talking about my facial animations because in my opinions 1st Sara preset actually has really nice animations, probably even better than default because they're toned down a lot but dead eyes on npc are just horrible, lighter and colorful hair are horrible to look at, especially on Eos. Peebee's face when you meet her is just a mistake it's worse than that classic broshep creepy uncle smile. So I could actually even handle those bad animations but bugs making me quit the game via task manager or just quit and restart because my scanner/menu were opening and closing, infinite and unfixable in game slow motion on Eos, again, making you quit and restart the game, those were the worst.
So as much as I love the game (plot) I hate it just as much because you lose all immersion you had when you have to restart the game every half hour. I can't imagine having those problems later in the game when I'm on a mission with autosave only and I know the last save is like from half hour ago...

While there are definitely some shortcomings that the game suffers from (a restrictive CC and awkward facial animations), I absolutely had a blast playing through my first 10 hours of Mass Effect Andromeda. In fact, it felt more like two hours at best, and I can't wait to get back into the swing of things and finish up work on Eos. I spent most of my time exploring every nook and cranny and scanning like a madman, so I didn't even finish the story that was available in the trial. I am absolutely loving the new combat and traversal with the jump jet is fun and feels really good. I've been playing on Insanity and it's absolutely a blast and actually a challenge. My only minor complaint would be the stupidity of your squadmates, as they tend to have a propensity for suicidal actions. I also really feel that the Nomad suffers due to not having any weapons. It just seems like a missed opportunity I'm constantly reminded of every time I drive it. Overall, I'm already addicted to this game and I can't wait to invest 100 of hours finding everything. I was also really impressed by how fast the load screens are! It's night and day from the nightmare loading of DAI. I haven't played it yet, but I'm excited to. Was really worried about the negative press but it seems to be overblown. Also, I realized you are the former Revan Reborn!

It did what is was supposed to do, make me buy the game. I loved it, warts and all. Can't wait to get back into it, unfornately i live in Europe so have to wait a few days longer.
Anyways, out of curiousity, is it possible for console (peasants) to run their internet through smartphone or PC? And If they can, could they use VPN service on said device, if they wanted early access?

Still seeing the poll at mostly Yes (currently 103 yes and 9 no). that tells me despite seeing hate and venom and vitriol and a lot of criticism, the overall feeling is that people LIKE the game.
Still so similar to D3 forums where the constant hate posters spend hundreds and thousands of hours playing, complaining all the way...
"I HATE pizza so much... Yes, I want 2 Large Meat Lovers (wink, wink) and a small Diet Coke deliver asap, thanks."

Aside from my own criticisms (limited CC, tedious star cluster map mechanics, clunky menu UI), I enjoyed my time, for the most part. I feel like the time limit really hampered the overall experience though, so I plan on starting over again at launch, to play at my own pace.
It also doesn't help that the game introduces a lot of in-depth gameplay mechanics (profiles, crafting, strike teams, oh my!) in a relatively short span of time, and having a clock ticking down possibly made my perception of things more jumbled. I felt a bit overwhelmed. Playing the full game will give me the opportunity to judge these things on their own merit.

Sorta. Generally gameplay wise I did enjoy myself. SP aside from CC, saves, and certain stylistic choices of certain NPC has been enjoyable. Personally I am not a fan of the time limit as someone who tends to move through SP a more slowly and does not sit still for long periods of time. Single player should of just had its cut off point while multiplayer should of been the only time limited thing. There should of been a technical test for MP prior which would of identified some issues that was found by the public from first day of trial.

Didn't work tho. I've seen that before it just didn't do anything. Sometimes I couldn't even quit via task manager (ctrl+alt+delete) because the game would still run and the task manager wouldn't even show up so there's that. It doesn't matter now since my trial is over and I still kinda hope they get rid of at least some of the things I've mentioned, if not before launch, then at least in 1st week after.

I really liked it. Unfortunately, once I got past the initial few hours during the "tutorial" mission, the facial animations really started to bug me. I thought the opposite would happen. Still, I'm having fun with virtually every other aspect of the game.

Despite its flaws, the sum is greater than the parts and I want to keep playing really badly. The companions, story, the events of my last play session (I've only been able to play the trial in about two/three-hour chunks per night), the choices I've made, and my sense of who my character is and will be has been constantly on the back of my mind. IOW, it's a new Bioware game.

I enjoyed my trial far more than I thought I would for my hopes were not high at all so I took my time and nine and half hours later my SisRyder was level 5 and I enjoyed myself. Is it the 23rd yet?
