The trial and some gaming vids of later events sold me on the game. As my time was running out and I had to go to bed last night, I was already hooked and wanted to play more. 10 hours wasn't nearly enough for me! I was a bit overwhelmed by all the new aspects and still need to get a handle on them (like crafting, weapon and armor modding and such) but I look forward to learning about them. The jetpack controls were way too fun to play with. I also look forward to getting to know the crew.
As for the writing, it varied for me. Some parts were really funny and touching but other parts were kind of "Hmm, they could have worded that differently". I wouldn't say "hilariously bad", though. My headcanon wheels are already turning for my character. Can't wait to get back into it! :-)

The game lacks polish, in particular with animations, and folks are trying to crucify BioWare for it. I don't really understand the negative reaction given the actual response from most credible reviewers and gamers has been unified in MEA being fun and feeling like a Mass Effect experience. That's more than enough for me to be on board, even though I was already fully committed after playing the 10 hour trial. |

Some of them were people that were butthurt about DA 2 and ME 3. Some of them are trying to make it political because they think bioware has an agenda. I guarantee if any other developer had a game with these animations they would not have been attacked nearly as intensely. While some people might have legitimate gripes about the game a lot of it is just bandwagon hate. |

That doesn't mean I hate it. and I believe you are content in just not liking it, not buying it and maybe even advising people not to get it, but not spending every waking minute to tell everyone they should not play the game at all or ridicule it over every aspect of the game. I am just amazed at the outright smear campaign. Is this how its always gonna be from now on? A few people don't like something and the rest of the world has to suffer through their constant hate and discontent for all eternity? What is this, the 2016 Election all over? |
