This is actually a fair analysis. I never knew that poor Kaidan had less scenes for maleShep than femShep. But, yeah, I mean, Samara and Benezia's tits, Miranda's ass, they are built for straight white men. What about us gay-mers?

Not a lot of new info there truth be told.
Part of the whole thing regarding Mass Effect was the use of sexuality and how it plays with sci-fi tropes of Sexualization. Problem is, they dip into it a lot by playing it straight. Samara is an example of it; giant mid-riff and larger breasts than a normal Asari, but has a zen-like philosophy that is fascinating...her look doesn't match the characterization, but the look is iconic for a lot of players now.
It's sexualizing the character but giving the character depth. The question is, does the sexualization go too far?

I think Bioware does a poor job at sexualization in general with their games.

Straight guys are you overwhelming consumer for these types of games. It's like chick flicks for men. You might be able to make a male-targeted movie that has the aspects of chick flicks, but they are rare and don't often do well.
FYI, the movie I'm talking about is Brian's Song.

Straight guys are you overwhelming consumer for these types of games. Citation with decently researched figures required. Bioware revealed the stats themselves for both ME2 and ME3. 80% in ME2 played Male Shepard, 82% in ME3 -- and even if you account for female players rolling a Sheploo, the number disparity puts male players as the majority when it comes to the people playing Mass Effect. A poll by PCGamer found that the four most popular romance options were all females, with only one being bisexual: Liara, Miranda, Tali and Ashley. Hell, Garrus was beaten out by Kelly Chambers; though if it's any consolation, PCGamer also rated Garrus the most popular squadmate (he's damn near tied with Liara officially for usage). I mean, a lot of it's supposition and from different sources, but there's no easy way to track these things, at least not with Bioware's lips sealed.

This was the best thing i could find to do with numbers and percentages in regards to the video games industry, however they quite rightly did not include ethnicity or sexual preference as it does not matter.(also a few years old as well) www.theesa.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/ESA-Essential-Facts-2015.pdf

Females, and black straight male don't like that. Boobies and booties are a social construct made by white straight doctors. Fuckin' patriarchy. This is coming from the same children who stereotype gay-bi people after Cora's hair. Never change, fandom.

I think they did a great job with the male Shep and Kaidan romance... It felt very realistic to me, honestly. Reminded me of some of the times I've had with the guy I was with or talking to. And omg, they were just SO frickin cute together, it was perfect. I had some head canon that Shep had feeling for Kaidan since ME1, but never had the chance to act on it. So when in ME3 they get together, it was just perfect when Shep was like "Yea, after all this time... you and me. It feels right"... And I actually said the same thing when I was with my first guy "It just feels right". Idk, this one just hit home for me, and I used to find Kaidan so boring, now he is a favorite of mine.

When people compare the m/m variant of the Shepard/Kaidan romance with the m/f version, I find that they frequently leave out that most of the "missing" scenes where heavily gender-coded moments that would have carried a lot of unfortunate implications if they had been transplanted to the m/m version. The Extended Cut fixed the rest, so the whole thing doesn't bother me much.

My first trilogy playthru was of my Chinese female engineer. My second was of default male soldier. Had romanced (deceased) Ash in ME1. Tali in Me2. I hooked up with my best bro and recently restored wingman Kaidan in the Cafe before heading out to Rannoch. And was treated to all the emotions I experienced when my RL bestfriend came out to me at a pizza parlor back in high school, under the (greatly mistaken) impression that I shared his feelings and the same orientation. So .... awkward for me, so terrifying for him. Ahh...good times. Good times. Mass Effect, evoking the feelz in most unexpected ways.

I do find it humorous how patronizing bioware games have to be towards heterosexual males. Loved the segment on the "yes I'm really gay" dialogue choices as I always found this funny. If someone couldn't tell what was going on without having to say you are gay twice, you'd have be dense as hell.
Would be funny to see straight versions of these.
Miranda, while bending over to tie her shoe or pick up something she dropped or just because her chest is so heavy: "Do you want to sleep with me?"
MShep: Sure.
Miranda: Wow I never would have guessed you are into women. Are you sure?
MShep: Oh I misunderstood.

They do it well enough considering it's a feature and not the focus of the game. That's a good point as far as the romances go. It's voluntary and usually easy to avoid or at least put the breaks on it early. More importance is given to romance by the devs and other players than what I give it, but it's a voluntary feature. I was also referring to some of the comments earlier. We get jump suits, cat suits, no suits, lol, etc., and situations where NPC's are sexualized and displayed, or something sexual can easily be inferred from a situation. That's where I think it's overused.

So depending on geography, the percentage of gays is between 2%-11% of the population (or thereabouts). When it comes to consumers of video games, the percentages are likely the same, perhaps slightly higher. The representation in video games these days when it comes to gay romance and similar seems to go above 2%-10% in comparison to similar content aimed at straight consumers. So what is the complaint about exactly? You're talking in terms of quantity. The concerns being raised are also about quality. Not that I have any qualms about anything myself, especially since they've been improving on every iteration.

Honestly sexuality is such a small part of personality, people constantly talk about being represented and shit, and I don't feel represented in any of the bioware video games personally, even though I am straight and white and male, but that doesn't mean shit, bioware never allows me to roleplay the character how I would want to roleplay, the choices that they offer do not cater to my mentality, the reactions that the characters have in game in regards to different actions and situations never reflect mine, and that I think is much more important, yet you don't see me complain.
