In the light of mixed reviews: Pre-Order cancelled?

I take reviews with a pinch of salt. It's nice to see what people think of the game, but I'd rather be the judge myself than let other people's opinions affect me. I won't be cancelling after I enjoyed myself in the trial.

Where the heck do you buy your games and where do I sign up to be a co owner?!

From what I've seen, I'm still planning to buy after the first few post-releases patches hit.  Which was always my plan since all recent games have released with some pretty significant bugs and I just don't like having to deal with those. 

What has changed was my original plan to try to go dark and do my first playthrough blind.  Instead, I'm now watching what will eventually be a complete playthrough by a YouTuber I respect... One who I believe will give this game a honest and fair shot as opposed to some who are playing through the game in a manner just to trash it.  From what I've seen of his playthrough so far, I'm enjoying the story and the gameplay.  From his commentary, he also appears to be having a lot of fun playing it.

It is only the level of toxicity in the gaming community and, in particular, amid the Bioware fan base continues to amaze me and what has necessitated this change in my approach to pre-evaluating this game.  Fair criticism is one thing, but people sexually harassing Bioware employees over a misunderstanding as to whether or not she had participated in the animations in this game is quite another.   I can't give ANY credibility to these over-the-top rants about the game... and just won't even click on them anymore.  They can take all their sensationalism and shove it where the sun don't shine.  If I was an advertiser putting money in their pockets, I would pull my ads.

So, my decision now will be based on watching one source play through the game... and I'm good with that.

I think we should wait for the first Servicepack

Nope. Can't deny that all of this killed most of my hype, but the only thing I'm debating right now is if I should use VPN or wait until the 23th.

Pre order cancelled, wait for sale on the condition most technical bugs (frozen,sudden drop in frame rate etc. not poor animation and horrible writing etc.) will be panned out during first 6 months.

MEA will be important part of my Bioware collection - First stand up comedy from Bioware, or maybe the last one too.

75+ is not a bad rating per se, but let's face it, it's not what most of us expected. Still, I didn't think about cancelling my pre-order, I'm sure I'll enjoy the game. I'll make up my mind on MEA after playing it.

Bad reviews didn't stop me from seeing Batman v Superman multiple times in the cinema. I'm not going to let mixed to good reviews stop me from playing Andromeda, particularly after I really enjoyed my time with the trial despite some issues and a few bugs, and I've been itching to play past the progression gate. I'll see how the rest of the game stands up when I've played more of it for myself.
