will never depend upon reviews on a game, sure to see what they have to say but in the end should never depend upon what the reviews have to say. Should always use your own judgement, play the game formulate your own thoughts etc. I will not be cancelling the game because I do not care what the reviews have to say and there is nothing wrong with the game except for the CC which is lacking

No but I feel very lukewarm about spending that much money on it. It's not this game per se, it's more I also wanted to play Horizon and Nier Automata and I picked this which feels like it should've been the last one in the mix now.
I think I regret buying it on PC because my performance is super inconsistent. When I'm on the nexus or the tempest I can get high framerates but whenever I land on Eos or go indoors in other places it chops like crazy. I'm trying to optimize my setting and I simply won't put anything below "high" except vegetation quality and especially not post-processing. I'm having trouble finding the sweet spot with the resolution scale settings.

Did anyone else preorder it because they managed to get it for kinda cheap? While I appreciate why people get so mad at others for preordering - I'm getting a bit annoyed with all the berating for supposedly paying full whack because I chose to preorder this game instead of waiting. I didn't. I actually only preordered because it wasn't full price. I'll take the risk for thirty-nine quid.

No, my 10 hours trial were good. Now the flaws of the game are known and I can easily overlook them. Every Bioware game until now have glaring flaws, but those were excellent flawed games. There is a hatewagon blaming ME;A on some aspects as if those were new things (animation, break in pace, unequal writing) but those were always ME flaws. After 10 years of ME I don't expect to go "WoW" about every new thing (the joy of being a kid), but still can enjoy a good gameplay and story. I wish I could have tried the trial. I have origin access and it still won't even let me pre load!

I've cancelled my pre order. I will eventually purchase the game, when it goes on sale, but no way I'm paying £65 for the deluxe version I pre ordered on PSN.
I'm seeing DA:I all over again. I did and still do enjoy DA:I, but not to the extent I would pay £65 for the privilege to do so.
It's a shame as Mass Effect is one of my all time favorites and ME:A was one of the very, very few games I have ever pre ordered because, well, it's ME. No doubt I will enjoy it, however, like i said, not at £65. EA are slowly choking the life out off BioWare which is also a great shame.

Honestly, if it was any other developer and any other IP, I'd consider cancelling my preorder. The stuff I've been hearing and reading is pretty bad, and if even half of it is true, I can tell I'm gonna regret paying full price. Then again, I'm part of the minority that actually liked DA2 despite its flaws, and I hope this will be the case with MEA as well.
Maybe I've just been absolutely spoiled by the excellent lineup we've had so far this year (looking at you, HZD) and I'm just getting nervous over nothing, but if we were talking about any other game, any other studio, any other franchise... No way I'd buy it on launch after reading these reviews.

The reviews have zero effect on my purchase. It is still Mass Effect so of course I was going to always preordered and play the hell out of it anyway. Besides I liked what I played in the trial.

I played these 10 hours and I really liked it. I'm worried now about the story and too many fetch quests that will get boring but whatever, I have waited 5 years, me need some Mass Effect.

Nope. The trial was awesome and the games that got high scores from some of these outlets sucked, imo, so "proffessional" opinion means nothing.

If I let reviewers decide what I should entertain myself with, then I would have missed out on some of my favorite games and great movies. So...yea, still playing it on day one. Hell, I took vacation to do just that and damn it! I'm gonna do it!

After the Access trial and how Ryder 'feels', that feeling of they couldn't make up their mind whether he was a preset character or a blank slate, so gave us the VA of a blank slate and the dialog options of a preset character, so we get this bland mess, only able to select from a tiny range of emotions and to agree to do every thing, I doubt I will buy this game, I can forgive a lot for good RP in an RPG, I cannot forgive their being basically none.

I sort of did the opposite, actually. After reading through the feedback from the trial (which I think does a pretty good job of laying out a variety of different reactions), for the first time ever, I pulled the trigger on a pre-order of the deluxe edition late last night. I usually wait until games have been out for awhile, and have been through some patch cycles to become more stable and whatnot... but I just didn't feel like waiting this time. I suppose the new gaming rig I just finished building had some influence on this decision. Bit by bit over the last several months, I've been adjusting my expectations as more information came forth. There have been many changes since MET, and for the most part, I think I've adjusted my expectations accordingly. It's weird. I've never been on the hype train at all, but as the download nears completion, I'm feeling this odd mix of anticipation and dread. I don't expect I'll be nearly as attached to this Sara Ryder as I get to most characters I play - due partly to her youth and inexperience and partly due to the CC limitations. I also expect that I'll be pretty frustrated at times, especially wrt things like no saves and no mini-map (the former I expect will be patched), but I'm old and have learned to take things like that in stride and treat them as personal challenges. No surprise, really, that part of the "exploration and discovery" they've been referencing all along has to do with... the UI and how to get things done. In any case, although the game won't be all that I would have liked it to be, I expect it will provide me with dozens of hours of entertainment - which is pretty much the point. See you in Andromeda!

I have cancelled this morning on seeing the reviews Couple of reasons, I don't really have the time in the foreseeable future to invest time in a 100+ hour game, so it doesn't make a lot of sense for me to pay full price right now. Secondly, I'm very disappointed to hear how bland the characters apparently are and the word "boring" appears to be popping up in lots of reviews.
I will play it in a few months and form my own opinions, but yeah a little underwhelmed.

Nope, I look at the other games that came out on March that people seem to be praising and they're not 500 dollar games meaning mass effect is really my only option.
I'll play Zelda when Nintendo fixes their faces and makes a decent console. And horizon zero dawn once the inevitable ps4 pro God of War edition comes out and I buy that.
Until then it's mass effect for me. Even though I will admit some of what I've seen has me thinking I shouldn't bother, because what the fans put down as bugs, I put down as unskilled people doing a job they can't over people that can, and that's just one thing that pisses me off more than anything because I can relate to losing jobs over people with a 10th of the skill because they check some quota box that I don't check.
