In the light of mixed reviews: Pre-Order cancelled?

No, and never in doubt. I enjoyed early access, and I'll review it for myself.

This is the first game I've preordered in three years. I wasn't going to because I just felt like it'd be iffy. But it was going for a good price and I've been hankering for a game where I don't have to play as a generic beefy white dude.

When I woke up to the reviews this morning I did panic. Suddenly thought 'whelp maybe I should cancel and get HZD instead'. But then I checked my email and saw it'd shipped already. For the first time I might actually get a preorder before release day (UK here, 23rd of March is release day) and all my excitement for getting it is being completely killed with so much circlejerking on my Twitter feed.

But I'll get over it. I mostly play JRPGs so I'm more than used to games with endless boring sidequests and dodgy dialogue. I swear there were about 2 hours worth of skits about freaking Quiches in Tales of Berseria. QUICHES.
I remember being so disappointed with DA2 when I played it and getting swept up in the circlejerk for that. But then one day I wandered into a part of the fandom who had turned their frustration into humour and the glorious memes and jokes made me want to give it another go but doing so in a way I never had before - by playing as a male character who was a dick to everyone (I usually always play as a female that tries to be nice/diplomatic). I loved my asshole male Hawke. I ended up doing many more playthroughs with both male and female Hawkes doing romances and choices that took me out of my comfort zone that have since changed how I approach all games of it's type.

So yeah, so long as the glitches get fixed and aren't completely game breaking (I'm fine with some of the funny ones. I need more fodder for my reactiongif collection ) then I'm hoping it's going to be alright on the night. I've only ever truly hated two games I've bought; Watch_Dogs and Star Ocean: The Last Hope. They will take some beating.

I actually asked for a refund from Origin this morning, I bought the game again but this time on PS4 instead, will be getting the little nomad cast too Only reason was because I think my PC does not need the strain of this game especially because it is under spec. It was either PS4 or new PC...so tempted to buy a new one but I have a working one I don't need another I enjoyed the trial and I really liked the feel of the game,also the thing is with this is the game can only go up with patches, and DLC. Very Tempted to buy the guide book too

Well, I definitely won't cancel my preorder. I've been looking forward this game too long and in the end of the day it is my opinion that´s going to determine whether or not I will like the game. Out of curiosity I did read the reviews and unfortunately the comments as well. What strikes me as odd is that some people seems to have completely forgotten that the original trilogy had its fair share of cringe worthy lines, awkward animation, plot inconsistency. It´is for sure a masterpiece but it isn't without flaws. I remember back in the day playing the first game and beside the general plot; I wasn't too keen on the characters or the gameplay. I thought it lacked deapth to the characters. I was hesitent to pick up the second game but decided to give it a chance and I am so glad I did. The characters suddenly became more real . More interesting . But the thing is, they grew over the course of three games. I really don't think that comparing Andromeda with the story and character development worth of three games is necessary the best way to approach things. Its supposed be a new start. A new chapter and I really look forward to see that kind of character growth again. So I going to give Mass effect andromeda a fair chance, just like I did with the original trilogy.

In the light of the trial: Preordered!

I don't pre-order games... it's a bad practice. 

Didn't pre-order, I was worried if this game will be worth the price (in my country it's really expensive) unfortunately I was right. I'll wait for much lowest price, then I'll decide to buy it or not. Don't want to waste my money,but I want to try it myself. A real shame what this game become, because ME trilogy are one of my favourite games.

Didn't pre-order, played demo, waited for reviews. Nothing in the demo or reviews made me want to rush out and get the game. I probably will eventually, when its on sale and they've fixed all the bugs.

Still buying it. Played the trial and enjoyed it. I take reviews as a barometer but don't take much stock, if any, in them. Reason being there hasn't been one reviewer or review site where I've agreed it with them 100% of the time. And even if there was one, I'd still want to see for myself.

I will be able to buy it for half price in less than a month, thus making my Biower Pls MP for Half thread essentially true. I won't miss out on anything but bugs and hopefully bugfixes, and I can catch up to you guys.... or not.

But Amazon 20% off preorder, that was an internal struggle to begin with, is definitely canceled.

I think the mixed reviews have just convinced me to wait for a discount.
