When you have no level X weapons: Go to Bronze. Buy Two basic packs per extraction. You get two bronze cards per 1000 credits. Repeat until you have one or two level X weapons you can take to Silver and not be dead weight.
When you have at least one level X weapon and at least one level 10 character (preferably with level X weapon) Go to Silver. If you get annihilated, or you find yourself feeling like a toddler that is holding on to an adult's leg and getting dragged around, go back to Bronze and git gud/get more basic packs until you get better common weapons. If you extract, and you actually contribute, use the credits you earn in Silver to buy basic packs until you only have a few commons left to max. Then move on to Advanced packs
There are too many Black Widow I's in Silver, not enough Viper X's.
I was in one Silver lobby with us all using common level X weapons. It was a cakewalk. I've been in many Silver lobbies with a ton of people toting level 1 UR's, they made me wish I spent this money on adult websites instead.
Its getting tiresome. Get some half-decent firepower before going to Silver, please!

Black Widow I is what got me through silver in the first place. In my experience Silver wasn't too difficult, especially if you pick Outlaws

Depends on the players to be honest, I did a silver match with only 2 other people and they were only level 5 with low tier weapons. Mind you I was level 20 with a M8-Avenger X, so I did carry them a little.

So what, Silver is the new tryhard mode now? I recall playing Gold with common weapons and level 2 characters was usually easy in ME 3 MP It's probably a good idea for a beginner to get some basic gear up quickly, though. Thanks for the idea. I was saving for the biggest pack out there, but since I'm playing Bronze and credits take a long while to earn, I'd probably be better off following your suggestion and getting basic packs.

the game just launched, but yeah, I feel you. Im currently at that point when I've maxed all common weapons and got 3 chars above or at level 10. Silver lobbies are usually filled with lvl 1 APEx 0 players, which means this is probably their first match (very few players have alt accounts) so I just look for a different lobby (Im too impatient to host mine), if the game keeps putting me in the same lvl1apex0 group just switch to bronze to level up any of my other underleveled chars.

Depends on the player and to some extent their experience in mp3, concepts are the same, I don't have level ten weapons but I am getting extraction most of the time, if someone in the lobby looks like their first game, I can carry or leave. Best advise at this stage is play with friends. A PSA FYI the players you are referring to more than likely never herd of this forum.

When you have no level X weapons: Go to Bronze. In other words: It really depends on the player and skill. Of course that matches with better weapons/high level characters are (usually) faster and more successful, but that doesn't mean you are dead weight without these things.

I get why it's frustrating, but those players are probably quite new to the game which is something we'll just have to deal with. We've all been there at one point or another.

People seem to either forget or wilfully ignore the fact that this is a multiplayer game mode, and as such your lack of knowledge or ignorance is affecting 3 other people.

Spending an hour killing a basic mook with your Avenger I in Silver is not being a helpful and contributing member of the team. I see your point, but you don't exactly need level X weapons to be able to contribute in a Silver match. Even a low level player can contribute- e.g. help with objectives, detonate powers and revive teammates when he/she can. Not arguing with the fact that the match might take longer and be more difficult for the other players.

I've said before in another thread that I actually don't mind helping new and lower level players, as long as they try their best and help as a group I have no problem. Like you said we all have to start somewhere. Also just because you have higher gear etc does not make you a better player, seen many lower level characters with weaker gear perform better than others with higher levels in silver.

Its not just weapons, HP/SP will be lower, less likely to have access to the kind of resources you need for silver (i.e. weapon boosters, etc) and abilities and passives will be less productive.
Some people have the skill to jump straight into Silver at lower levels/gear, but the majority don't.
Its no different to MMO raids and dungeons. I don't care if you reckon you are the leetest on the server, you're not joining my heroic 10 man in 5 man dungeon blues.

I have to agree with the general sentiment of this post.
Moving into Silver (seems so strange to be saying this) isn't such a simple task.
It really is reminiscent of a Gold level match in early ME3MP.
You need to bring consumables and actually use them. Decent weapons with mods are a must now, IMHO. Could you do it without, absolutely. But it is going to be TEDIOUS. That isn't fun for me. That's why I was never a huge fan of soloing. It is monotonous, to me. But, each to his own.
I think they may have designed it this way to get more life out of the game, so to speak. People grind on bronze forever to get their weapons leveled up. Then move to Silver and do the same, rinse repeat.

Repeat until you have one or two level X weapons you can take to Silver and not be dead weight. When you have at least one level X weapon and at least one level 10 character (preferably with level X weapon) Go to Silver. If you extract, and you actually contribute, use the credits you earn in Silver to buy basic packs until you only have a few commons left to max. Then move on to Advanced packs There are too many Black Widow I's in Silver, not enough Viper X's. I was in one Silver lobby with us all using common level X weapons. It was a cakewalk. Get some half-decent firepower before going to Silver, please! You have been blessed with RNG. Nearly 1 million credits and no new weapons, avenger is level 4 if it matters (lol)
