They did randomly get puffy cheeks...I don't know maybe bioware thought it is cuter. Peebee doesnt look unnatural with it I agree Peebee looks fine. Lexi to me should have a slightly thinner face but again that's me. Sure maybe but that's just because her voice would make me wanna la~la (it's a song I swear)

I don't think it's that big of a deal honestly, Witcher 3 reused the same faces quite a bit.

All of the alien species have the same face aside from the different genders and specific characters like Jaal. Only differences are skin tones. They dropped the ball hardcore.

I don't think it's that big of a deal honestly, Witcher 3 reused the same faces quite a bit. Yeah but they're all human. When you have entire species with the same face then it becomes an issue.

While technically not "female", asari still somewhat classifies as such. And remember, BioWare is aiming to make female characters look more natural in their games now.

Clearly this is to demonstrate the low genetic diversity of the non human sentient species of the Milky Way galaxy.
Either that or BW took a shortcut. Hard to tell. Well not really.

IIRC, all the asari in the trilogy had Liara's face when they were not that important. It seems we've just hit another level.

I'm surprised thy didn't just recycle some female human npc face models for the Asari. It would have been an easy way to add some diversity.

IIRC, all the asari in the trilogy had Liara's face when they were not that important. It seems we've just hit another level. No, Liara's face was unique (based on a face scan of a real person). The trilogy did have like two faces that got recycled for most NPC asari, so doing the same in MEA isn't that unusual. I think the main problem is that it's also more or less Dr. Lexi's face, who should definitely have a unique look. Also, it makes sense that most asari look more homogeneous than humans, since they get all of their DNA solely from their mothers (the mating process merely randomizes the expression of some genes).

All Asari in this game are apparently on long term prednisone.

I was paying more attention to Peebee and realized her face is different. Guess that is why I don't find her to be as odd looking.

The Asari are supposed to be the sexy species. If they were gonna recycle, why didnt they recycle them from previous ME games and change them a little. If bioware wants to use more 'normal' characters, why not just throw out the occasional mediocre or overweight character, instead of making ALL of them 'meh.' Pretty women arent allowed in their games anymore?

ME2 had multiple face models for the Asari. So did ME1. In Andromeda you get Mrs. bloaty cheeks for every one. Except the Racoon.

Yes, Liara's face was based on Jillian Murray. So these are not Liara's face at all? No. And for gods sake these faces are so much better than what we have in Andromeda. I'm actually amazed. It's not like they have the same eyes, nose, mouth, face shape or anything.

I've been watching a no commentary walk-through and so far every asari I've seen has the exact same face as the ship doctor. Different colors and markings but same face. Am I wrong? Or did BioWare drop the ball here? Outside of Peebee you are right. I noticed this as well, and this shit just doesn't fly in 2017. It is just lazy especially since the original trilogy even didn't do this.

Yeah I noticed this also. They all look like Dr. Lexi, but with different facial markings. Peebee is the only one with a unique face. This is so lazy, I wonder if they thought no one would notice lol.

Why would they do that? I mean just use some faces you have created for old trilogy, backround Asari there had different faces. Now they all look the same.

I don't think it's that big of a deal honestly, Witcher 3 reused the same faces quite a bit. They did. They also did a good job making them look different by using different costumes, makeup, and hairstyles, and colors. Also, all of those reused faces were very attractive.
