Well I wasn't sure if I had to post my review here or on the dislike thread, tbh I'm in the middle ... but I like the game more than I dislike it, so I'll post here. + 50h of game, not finished yet, I like it, yes, but don't love it. The good things : well, Jaal and the angara first, I love them ! spoiler balise in case but nothing bad especially of you saw them already: they are emotive characters who share their feelings without any shame. As an emotive person myself, I find this very refreshing to have a society where you can tell and express exactly what you feel and don't be judged like a failure or a weirdo, like in our human society. I obviously romanced Jaal (romance I locked with him yesterday ), he's so touching and cute, I love everything about him so far The planets are pretty, strangely enough I like Voeld even if I hate cold. The crew, I like Gil (a surprise to me, I thought he would be boring but not at all, also he has a great dub and voicein french), Vetra, Drack (old good krogan XD), Lexi and Liam (and Jaal of course). Not fond of Cora, Suivi, Kallo or even Peebee but they are ok, I mean, I don't dislike or hate anybody. I like the Nomad too, I have some hard laugh sometimes, really. Reminds me of my dear Mako, I missed exploring planets for sure. I'm also now a specialist of the "space screencaps", I'm so happy they put a screencaps option on the PS4 ! I have a huge collection of planets and solar system XD I like the fact you can make the menu disappear and take a photo without any information all around ! Oh, and Kandros... I wanted you on my crew ;_; too bad............ Now I have to say, I'm not happy with THOSE DAMN BUGS. They totally killed the beginning of my immersion (like during 20h...). I get used to it, but it's a shame, really. The banter bug on foot (hopefully my characters speak on the Nomad), so many glitches on the siquests ! The NPC who never show on the screen (I have to Save/reload), same for the button you have to push that never appears (Save/reload again...), game freeze (reload...), Nomad stuck (reloooooad...), missing lines when characters speak : it happened once for suivi and once for Kallo. They spoke to my Ryder but nothing came out of their mouth. Also the sound of the voices when NPC speaking is very low, I hardly can hear many of them sometimes... Many useless (and long) quests but for the defense of the game, I found the useless quests on MEA far better than the useless quests in DAI ! I won't say anything more about the human modelling, all was already written. The CC took me 3h when my shepard took me 15 minutes and I loved her so much. I created a first character and she looks so ugly in game, I had to restart. My second character was ok but not great especially because I used preset 3 with big blond eyebrows... I restart. Finally I made my character with preset 9, she's ok but not like I wanted her to be, because I can't change her noise and lips... It took me hours to like her but well... Now I'm fine with her. I also want to say that Foster Addison have a terrible french dub. The girl, she's reading her paper and doesn't care about what she says.... the other dubs are nice hopefully. And I don't care about Ryder's familly. I tried but seriously the father is not attaching at all and the brother inconsistent. Things I regret : Angara are nice as I said but I would have loved to see many other new intelligent species... I mean, with different level of technologies, cultures, design.... Like the Milky way had. I find it hardly credible to only see Angara and Kett... I doubt there will be more intelligent aliens to discover.. wait and see but I don't really have hope. I find this new univers half credible, I'm surprised to not see more originality but well, not immersion breaking. Also, the story feels warmed to me on many points... but again, not immersion breaking to me. Musics are OK... well, when you hear them. Conclusion : nice game, still having fun, but I'm not blind to the flaws and his lack of intensity compared to the MEA trilogy (even if I'm trying to appreciate MEA as something totally different... ) I would have prefered a delay of 6 months to polish the game and fix all the glitches that gave me nightmares. It wouldn't have ruined my 20 first hours.... and I don't think we will have a patch very soon anyways. So not the big love I was waiting and hoping but I keep playing because it's good enough ^^

Guys, I don't get it.
Yes, it's a flawed game. There are plenty of bugs, the menu design is shit, and the animations can be pretty jank.
But guys, I just finished the main story, after having already reached 100% viability and done all of the loyalty missions, and I just don't get it.
I had a blast all the way through. This game amazed me. How can anyone not believe this is the best Mass Effect game we've had?
That's how I feel.

I think I was like you with the first ME, many flaws but I was totally in awe. I'm speaking only for myself, the magic didn't catch me for MEA like it did for the trilogy, that's all, and I honestly regret it. But as I said, there are good moments and nice things on MEA. I'm currently having fun exploring the planets and doing loyalty missions. And again, bless the angara and Jaal. Anyways I'm glad you love the game, always nice to feel passionate

Definitely seems like the ps4 version is more bugged than the PC. The only glitch I have had was a lighting shader that went wrong in a kett base (when I looked outside the screen went completely white) but I think that's maybe more nvidias issue. Quest wise whenever I return to the nexus it tells me to talk to Sid.. then completes the quest. Also sometimes the auto camera for the conversations zooms in and misses the person you are speaking too.
That's it really- I even get the (occasional) banter on foot, but a lot more in the nomad so I assume that is bugged.

Whole internet hates it, but I love this game and can't stop playing it. I never enjoyed playing a Bioware game this much. I feel like a badass super hero when I play this game. Mixing Powers to pull crazy combos never gets old. Game is not perfect, there are some issues but overall it's a fantastic package with good story and characters. Story and characters wise it's not as strong as Trilogy but still I think it's quite good and definitely worth playing. Every Bioware fan must play this game in my opinion. People should stop judging the game based on stupid meme on internet. Play the game yourself . Iam 40 hours in. Playing on Insane and Loving every second of the game. Playing as Beautiful Asian Female Ryder. Here are her Pics. Facial animation of custom Sara looks more believable than default Sara.
Default Sara looks plain stupid and ugly. Can't stand her stupid face.

The majority of people that complain about the game don't hate it. The game just has a bunch of really significant flaws, but it's still a fun game regardless of it's own attempts to fuck everything up.

I completely agree with you, I'm absolutely hooked to this game. I enjoy this game way more than fallout, skyrim and Doom. I have no idea why people doesn't like this game. Hell, I even enjoy this game more than the original ME series.

Loving the game too, and also playing it with a hot Asian gal. Only mine have flaming red hair. I dreamed about a character like that for ages, and the game is totally awesome. Every day while I am trying to work I spend so much time arguing if I want to see what happens next in SP or if I want to MP my Adept, it makes me uber happy.

I'm with you on this too ryder911 and I'm glad you made this post. I've almost never bought a game at launch without there being some things to be fixed. Like most of those games, this one will also see patches coming down the pike. Yes, there are some imperfections in terms of some of the dialog, chatter, etc., but I'm hoping this is the first of at least another trilogy.
Sure, I kinda' get it that some of the fans aren't happy. But it has to be remembered that we had three games and nearly 7 years with Shepard and a number of the recurring crew. They became staples in our game play -- "people" we knew somewhat -- we got use to them. Now it's a new universe, new characters, and in many ways we're back to square one. It's like starting at a new school with new friends, environment, etc.
I REALLY hope we see MEA2 as I know we'll be wanting to see the next chapter in this adventure.
I think of this game when I'm not playing and that's a damn good sign of a good game for me. This is Louis Ryder signing out!

I don't have too many bugs on PS4, only one mission so far (Kett base with infinitely respawning enemies) plus the issue with dialogue icon which sometimes doesn't show up and I need to reload, but it's not in all areas- Kadara has been the worst so far. The longer I play the more I like it, maybe it's a pity that the beginning is a bit boring, at least to me it was - I just didn't feel the atmosphere and the fetch quests felt overwhelming. I guess it may prevent someone less patient or determined to get to the better segments of the game. But now (about 50 hours in) I'm totally enjoying it, and I love the companions' loyalty missions. I can't tell whether I like it more or less from the OT, I guess I will need to reply it to cool down and really decide I do think that the new galaxy is a bit of a missed opportunity when it comes to new species, and that it is a little umm, too convenient that the only friendly species is so human-like, just looking different (but humanoid nevertheless). But I love the angara and Jaal so I can live with that

(level 30+ something and heading out to Kadara soon)
I'm starting to warm up to the companions. At first I found them a little boring to talk to and I still miss conflict and strong personalities, BUT after getting to know my crew better I'm starting to like some of them. Vetra and Pelessaria mostly. Before the game I was most excited to meet Liam, but he's umm too nice and generic kind of guy. Not really interesting. Not like Kaidan. Liam's just doing his own little thing and doesn't seem too interested about what the Pathfinder is doing. So yeah, he's kind of boring.
I wish the companions would critique the Pathfinder and question her motives and what she's doing. Now, like Liam, they're all just doing their own thing. Ryder is not like Shepard who already was a hero by the time of ME1 and simply commanded respect. Yet no one rarely ever truly questions Ryder and there have so far been no moments of doubt, no mistakes, nothing. But anyway, this was supposed to be about what I like about the game...
Lexi is my favorite of the Tempest crew. She usually has something interesting to say and can give insight about the companions. I also like Gil though he doesn't do much. I wonder if he will ever figure out how I beat him at poker.

With the way they handled loyalty missions in this game, being more like DA 2 then Inquisition or ME 2, each companion is going to actually get their own story instead of having basically everything avaiable and wearing on their sleaves. I really appreciate the way they are doing this. And watching my SO play last night and playing myself I am really starting to warm up to Jaal and Drack.

I really like this game. I didn't care much for the original Mass Effect trilogy, so I bought the game with absolutely zero expectations. I was expecting to get the usual "friends and romance" (to quote the user phoray) package along with some cool exploration and perhaps some nice action. This is pretty much what I got, so I'm happy Sure, I can name at least 1,000 flaws which should and could be addressed, but it didn't stop me from enjoying the game. I liked the main plot, although it felt a bit too short. I just played the last mission yesterday and now I'm feeling a bit sad that it's over, because I still have so much exploring to do and doing all that after the epilogue feels rather weird. But I think my sadness just reveals how much I enjoyed the game. What's more, this time I actually liked the protagonist, in contrast to MET. The character personality feature is great, and there's an overall whimsicality to the game which I really enjoyed. I really appreciate a good sense of humour, and MEA delivered in this regard. At times the original trilogy felt so dry, but MEA never takes itself too seriously, especially if you choose the humorous dialogue options. So I don't really understand why people don't like it out there. I guess if you have supermassive expectations then it's bound to be a disappointment. Same thing has happened to me with a few other games, and nowadays I know not to make the same mistake. I think on balance MEA might place second as the most enjoyable BW game for me, still light years behind DA2 but a clear notch above DAI. I think I'll have more to say after I've had more time to process my thoughts about the game. Now I'm still pretty much trying to get over the fact that I've already finished the main story :'(
