I feel like shit now. I stupidly picked Sloane during the Reyes reveal event. I think I am going to have to reload the game and fix my actions.

Kadara is my favorite part of the game (thus far). Just everything from the planet itself, the characters, (most) sidequests and factions vying for power. Even dialogue was mostly better than it's usually been. Only the Vaults effect weren't quite as impressive as they've been in some other worlds. My Ryder romanced Reyes and I have to say the romance was everything I hoped it'd be. Awesome character. Can already say it's my favorite Mass Effect romance, period (never much cared for the ones in the original trilogy, to be honest). So that's something I definitely love about this game.

Just finished Kadara, and if we had strongholds, that would be my world of choice! I felt so accomplished when I finally got my outpost! Loved the faction's, environment, atmosphere, story and characters. If I had to gripe it will be that Sloane was less represented in the story than the opposition.
I had to use walkthroughs, first time so far. That planet was not as accessibly laid out as all the previous worlds for someone OW/exploration impared, lol. But, boy was it cool!
I dunno what has to happen for me to stop loving this game at this point.

Yeah I'm a fan of Kadara. I love interacting with everyone, and while it's frustrating that we can't tell everyone "Fuck you too!", the game at least gives us a good reason why. Reyes is a fun character, and I liked his dialogue with F!Ryder. Wouldn't romance him (interestingly, the face model for him is made out of the same preset I used for Ryder's brother lol) but he's definitely an outlaw bestie if I ever saw one. The little Your Highness bow charmed me for sure.

My favorite part of the game is the angara and their worlds, that includes aya, voeld and harald, this is the new fresh elements from mass effect andromeda, The thing is is that while I think the story is done all right, I have already seen salarian and krogans hating each other, I have already seen criminal underworlds, I have already seen a huge space station where most people live on. I am not saying it was bad or uninteressting in MEA, I love kadara or eladen that are full of nostalgia. BUT What I did not see in the previous games was the angara lore, their culture, their religion everything was just maginificient, and there is also Avela : These eyes Remember Bioware, if we ever need an archivist or historian aboard the tempest, we definetely need her.

I fixed my mistake on Kadara. I let the sniper kill Sloane. What can I say, I like Reyes as a character. It's a bromance thing.

So did ME: A bomb, like people keep claiming? Sales wise? Still early to say. It hit #1 on UK but sold less than ME3, physically, which is a given considering how digital media is dominating since the 8th gen of consoles began, not mentioning PC...

I finished my first playtrough as Scott and started a NG+ as Sara. Overall I enjoyed it and I think it's a good start for a new saga. The facial animations and the bugs do need fixing, but personally didn't bother me that much except for one bug that happened during Peebee's loyalty mission. I think the side quests that weren't fetch quests were pretty interesting and I had a lot more fun with the combat than in previous games.

I loved this game personally. Despite the issues the game had it never took away from my overall fun experience playing the game.
Likes:(or generally ok things) The story. I liked the story over all and it left me wanting more in a good way. I think it did a good job setting up new lore and building another big mystery to unravel in future games. I enjoyed combat immensely. A lot of satisfaction with those head shots. And the combinations you can pull off with the different powers was enjoyable. I like the combat and tech powers so far mainly overcharge in tech and concussion shot with its homing ability in combat. I cant comment on biotics because I dont tend to use it ever in my play throughs. I generally liked the characters. In terms of squad Drack and Peebee I liked the most and I put Cora at the bottom. I liked most of the dialog from peebee and drack and a lot of the banter between characters while driving the nomad. Vetra was ok and Liam had some funny moments and lines. Cora and Jaal were just too bland to me. They werent interesting enough to me to want to bring them along at all or keep talking to them between missions. The crew i put generally OK. Suvi's accent is a natural draw from me cause scottish. Gil, Lexi and Kallo were more meh for me. They were all just OK for me. Speaking of the Nomad I found it incredibly enjoyable to drive around. I was not the biggest fan of the Mako personally but the Nomad was genuinely fun for me.
Dislikes: (or things that just bothered me) The asari npcs in particular. What bothered me the most was the fact I felt Peebee is the only asari with a unique face model. All the asari I came across all seem to have the exact same face. Salarians too all generally looked exactly the same. It felt like how in Dragon Age 2 (which I also enjoyed) they just reused the same dungeon over and over. It felt like it was just a shortcut making all the npc races (asari and salarian in particular) look the same. This is a given that the animation was definitely lacking. I think the random eye movement bothered me the most. Character customization could have been better for sure. Id have preferred more options at least and....better beards. I like making beardly characters and the beards were just blah. In the end I did like how both my Ryders looked but more options would be better. I had a few moments in cut scenes where characters were overlapped on top of each other and that really took away from the moment of what was transpiring. And primarily the frame rate drop and lagging out which seemed to primarily happen every time I would interact with the research and store kiosk on the tempest. The crafting i felt could have been better streamlined but was alright. The only time I would get bored was during planet to planet travel. The animation to shift from each planet in a system I felt was too drawn out. When you want to 100% scan all planets I dreaded it cause of the constant too long animation shifting to each planet and anomaly. I would have liked an option to turn that off or skip it all together.
Overall for me I give it 7/10. More because of my love for Mass Effect in general. Being the 4th in the series it could have been a lot better for whats supposed to be a AAA title. There is definitely fixes that need to be patched in and stuff to look at going forward with future games. But overall I genuinely enjoyed and loved playing this game despite my personal issues with it. My first play through was male ryder and im on my second one with female so i can see all the opposite decisions.

They bring some considerable, uhm, assets to the game. And add a little diversity to the Asari, yeah totally that too.

The Asari faces.....I'm not too concerned about the non-interactable npcs repeating because every big rpgs does that. But the bartenders and the reporters looking like twins was really disappointing.
I think that might be a result of the rumored upper management bumbling things and saying faces are okay because you KNOW people who were building the game on the ground floor were aware of it. There's so many nice callbacks and small details in the world that shows how dedicated the team was to the franchise. That's not a tiny bug hidden in some corner 5 to 10% of the players will see.

There's a really frantic pace to the combat and a bit of chaos that I really love in ME:A as opposed to the clunky tankiness and more methodical approach of the previous games. Flanking an enemy by jet packing over and behind him is amazing.

Makes me wonder how viable being a sniper is. What do you mean? I main sniper in every game I play when given the option, but for MEA, they are extremely powerful. I can take out half the post before they even have a chance to fight back.

So i took out the Kett base on Voled...holy shit that was intense. Haha! I did enjoy that encounter. I really enjoy bases. Playing on Insanity, it amplifies any mistakes I make. The enemies keep coming, so mistakes must be kept to a minimum. Get caught being stupid one time, and you're playing the rest of the mission with very low health. You feel like a boss when you check your health at the end and see it untouched. Perfection achieved! "Intense" is a good word. There is plenty more to be had.

They need to release a patch that gets rid of the rubbish puzzles. They got rid of them after Mass Effect 1 but now they've brought it back and made it even worse. It slows down the gameplay and it's not fun. Who actually enjoys doing them? I know some people simply dislike puzzles. In those cases, I'd recommend bookmarking a page with all of he solutions and just cheating through them. Also, you collect a ton of those Remnant Keys that allow you to open without solving, so you can use them often. I thought that these puzzles were at least well integrated. The glyphs are insanely dense data packets, and we have to decipher they language and complete a text, in order to get into a given monument, crate or whatnot. That's a pretty cool way to frame Sudoku.
