Get hyped as fuck.
And... it's not a main quest...? Memory triggers. Keep an eye open for them.

I thought the game as a whole was great. I loved all of the characters even though I thought Peebee was going to get on my nerves at one stage and become a Sara. The problem I see at the moment is Bioware are putting annoying stuff in the game where it really doesnt need to be there. For example, I dont need to be nagged 15 times in the space of 3 minutes to go to a marker. I'll go when im damn good and ready. I also dont need to be verbally told of mining areas or that I am in a dangerous environment every 30 seconds. I can see it written on my HUD.
However, the amount of side quests is gross and im loving it. There is always something to do in this game the script is well written and very funny at times. All in all a solid 8/10. Good job Bioware.

The technical flaws are well documented, I don't need to go into them but they are plentiful. They are the only thing that served as a hindrance to my ability to appreciate the game fully. Well, that and the fact that my beloved race of blue space honey-buttered love biscuits now all look like Walter Matthau. Who do I talk to about requesting for every Asari in the game to not be blue Walter Matthau? No, but seriously. Where do I take this and who do I need to speak to when I'm there? Is there a form to submit non bug related feedback? Because the rest of the game was quite enjoyable. Once the obvious technical things get hammered out, this is kinda what I hope they'd work on.

Quick question: Already thinking about my second PT and one of the things that keeps on coming back to me is should I try to put an explosive augment on a Black Widow. Now the question is sticky grenades, regular contact grenades, or the normal ammo for the Black Widow is better? Which has the fastest time to target? Does any of them effect the damage noticably? Is there a noticable difference between the quality of one or the other?

I wasn't too thrilled with my grenade aug sidewinder though. Still kept it along for specialised situations.

- I just started Drack's loyalty mission and so far it's a blast. After couple of days of not playing, I'd almost forgotten how much I actually enjoy this game. I've liked most of the missions and sidequests. Haven't been bored by almost any of the side content this far. Very solid game, that way. I think it does so many things so well - but also is terrible at few crucial things like dialogue and roleplay. So it's a love/hate thing almost. At times I love the game and others not so much. Hah.
- I like my squad the more I spend time with them. Sometimes it's just small bits of dialogue that remind me of why I like some of them (easy to forget when there's such a long periods when they have literally nothing new to say). Still wish conversations and interactions with them were better. Feels like banter is almost the better way to get to know them here (which is not necessarily or probably good). Only one I feel almost total apathy for is Kallo. Perhaps it's just that no one can really compare to Joker, but somehow he just feels like the most bland and boring crew member yet.

Honestly, I was sort of thinking that it would just be audio logs and such, and while there's plenty of that, it gets pretty meaty. But what I really love are the memories that unlock as well.

After some disappointments with other augments I'd tried, I decided to carry the Scorpion (pistol) for those times I wanted to shoot grenades. Different strokes, YMMV, etc.

Also, I enjoy the Archon a great deal more than Saren.

I had a long chunk of time to play today, and while I find the rest tolerable to entertaining...
Man, vanguard with charge and backlash and a bunch of passives. Holy schnekies. Also, I quite like my team and they're very chatty.

These games are definitely getting bigger, but the waits are growing pretty long. A half decade is very long and hopefully it's not 5 or 6 years for the next one. I'd be willing to shave the overall size down by a third and get a new game sooner, honestly. Esp without modding to keep it going like Skyrim.

I finished the game yesterday, 99%, the only things left are 3 tasks that got bugged so I can't properly finish them. Now I'm here sitting and looking at my massive backlog and trying to resist the temptation of rolling a BroRyder and start a second playthorugh, instead of waiting for a while, at least until I read Nexus Uprsing (which is waiting in my book backlog lol) as I had planned. So yeah, I liked it. A lot. My body is ready to investigate that distress call, Tiberius, just saying. You know which one.

I love the size, the amount of quests, but if that experience comes with a 5 to 6 year development period I could easily forgo it for something more streamlined and story focused. Honestly, if I can get 40 to 50 hours out of a game I consider it a worth the money spent. MEA was definitely that, but the wait...damn.

I finished my first playthrough a week ago and all of those last five years were a rollercoaster of emotions. I was so angry after ME3's ending, that I thought I would never play any ME game again, but it started to calm down after every DLC. After Citadel DLC I was reminded what was really important in a trilogy - that it wasn't an ending, but a journey and friends we meet along the way. So I started to feel hopeful for the next installment, but somewhat cautious. The more info on Andromeda I got, the more hyped I became and just before an end of embargo on reviews I was hyped as much as I was for ME3. And then those reviews started to emerge... I was shocked, I was angry and I was afraid. It seemed Andromeda was just bad, bad characters, plot, everything. But I thought that still, this is a game of franchise in which I invested over 1000h, just in games, and I don't even count books, comics, fanfics etc. so at least what I should do was to try it myself. That was the best decision I could have made. I loved Andromeda from first minute to the last (almost). Yeah, it's not a perfect game, you couldn't skip travelling between planets, not very memorable music, minor bugs, but those problems never made me think "shit, I really can't stand it". The things I care the most about any game, especially ME game, are characters and plot, and both are great in my opinion. Great enough, that despite all of those weaker parts, I still give this game 9/10. I love every single crew member and I never expected that I will see them as my family - OT needed three games to emulate that feeling. Ryder in my opinion is even better protagonist than Shepard and I might started to develop a slight obsession over her . Almost every supporting character is well developed, so I might not like them, but always for a good reason, and often enough I still have respect to them (*ekhm* Addison *ekhm*). Plot was very interesting. Those mysteries about Angara, Remnants and later parts really sucked me in a plot, like a black hole. I barely slept that week, 3-4 hours per day and I still woke up as if I had a full night of good sleep, ready for anything that Andromeda was there to give. And while I never really cared about our main villain I see a great potential for future games - about his race and inner politics. Also about the Scourge, Benefactor, Remnants and many more. It's for me like ME1 in Andromeda and that's why I love it so much.

I'm liking the game a lot more than I did at first. Faces still aren't perfect and the lighting is still driving me crazy. I wish there were more cinematics, more Renegade interrupts narrative actions, and less auto-dialogue. But ultimately the main + companion quests + some side quests are really fun, and I love how new things pop up unexpectedly (ex when you scan the satellite and it opens up a whole new quest). I don't think it is up to the MET standards in terms of writing, but Ryder has also grown on me and I like the character. The game is a slow burn; it doesn't wow out of the gate, but roughly 1/4 to halfway through it really picks up steam and starts developing its lore and enemies and all that. The Metacritic average is a little harsh. My 8 has now become a solid 8.5. I think it is maybe more enjoyable than Fallout 4, but not more so than TW3. It is a good game, and it's sad that they had to rush it out before it was ready.

I think the game is fantastic, I'm enjoying it as much as I would any other game in my games library.
It's visually stunning, the gunplay is satisfying, character movement is fluid, a lot like Watchdogs 2 movement but with the added ability of a jump jet pack, could be better though, enemy AI is impressive with enemies flanking and staying in cover when hurt, exploring the beautiful planets is immersive, characters are interesting and engaging, banter is funny and missions are excellent because of all of the above.
There is so much more positive things I could list and a few negative that we all know about and are hopefully soon to be fixed in a patch.
Those who have slated this game are insane because they have failed to notice all that is good about Mass Effect Andromeda.

Oh, it's great to know! It was hinted throughout the game that he is different, more adventurous, while she is more nerdy, and it's good to have it confirmed. I'm now replaying as her again for romance reasons, but Scott's PT is somewhere in the future for sure! I'd say she's slightly more bookish and he's a bit more "Alliance marine", but it's not forced upon you too hard. Scott can be as interested in science as you want him to be, for example; though he even says, at least a couple of times, "Sara would love this," or "My sister follows <such and such>". They're pretty equal, in terms of adventurousness. Ohh... that is really quite wonderful. I might just make a Scott-PT one day. I just really like them being connected and caring for each other.

Hi everyone! It's been a while, so I hope everybody's good! Now I still havent completed the game (I'm about 50h in and I've only just gone to Kadara) but I had to break cover and talk about just how much I love Andromeda. I'm loving the new crew (apart from Liam, but his loyalty mission was great!) and despite the CC's best efforts, I've managed to create a Sara that I'm really happy with. Also I think the Angara might be my new favourite species! So yeah! Loving it!

Kadara, a 'hive of scum and villainy' to be sure This game is so big, and I've enjoyed the heck out of it - don't want it to end. So I'm just exploring, (just got to Eladeen) and taking my time.

It's incredible. No matter what I do in the game, I discover subplots, big and small that are simply interesting as well as fun to play and have characters that feel alive and appeal to the emotional Q. I've just done large subplots with Salarian and Turian Arcs, the Meridian, Ryder's personal story and then went into a tiny subplot for Salarian Arc, and I feel both invested and curious. And then there was a tiny Gil-Kallo stuff, really insignificant to the whole plot, but OMG, so good.
I have never seen a game with characters being that alive.
Just... so good. I feel like committing a crime and admitting I love it more than ME2/ME3, despite Shepard and Thane being forever seared in my heart as the most beloved ever protagonist and LI. Yes, so weird. Love protagonist and LI much, much, much more in ME2/3, but the world of the game itself, all the characters (including the Ryder) make me love the Andromeda more.
