This thread is awesome! Before Star Wars... before Star Trek, the original series... I watch reruns of this, on an old black and white TV set: (and I actually thought the musical theme was kinda catchy...)

I was just thinking that as a young kid, there was so much sci-fi around for me. In addition to things that were mentioned here, there was: And: Oddly it all went a bit quiet in the late 80s, with the notable exceptions of TNG and Red Dwarf, until the mid-90s and DS9. B5, Space, Above & Beyond etc... Loved the re-booted BSG. Never saw the original series, my mum was a fan of it tho. My uncle loved Red Dwarf, could never get into that show myself. Also, I'm surprised this hasn't been mentioned (or maybe it has) Fawlty Towers. Oh hey also, Morecambe and Wise

So all the oldeies, what are the oldest computer games you own/remember? I'm thinking PC games, not console. Baulders Gate is a baby. I remember playing text adventure games. Zork type. Then: Star flight A Bards Tale (back when EA didn't suck!) Wizardry Wisards Crown Ultima I through IV Civilaization series Master of Orion So counting a ZX Spectrum as a PC as it was a personal computer, mine came with several arcade clones, like a version of Pac-Man called Haunted Hedges, and a version of Frogger called Frog Hopper, and I then played several games such as Jet Set Willy, Atic Atac etc. The first game that really grabbed me so that I played it again and again was Laser Squad. It was by the same people who went on to make UFO:Enemy unknown/X-Com, and basically consisted of the combat from those games without the base/tech building side. Playing the Moonbase Assault level against friends was such great fun, as the two sides were very evenly matched. Once I moved from Spectrum to Amiga, the game that really grabbed me was the original Civilization. The day I got a hard drive (I think it was about 240 MB! ) for that computer and no longer had to swap four discs to load it was a joyous one.

While I loved Buck Rogers as a kid, I was alittle too young to fancy Erin Grey at the time. I think my first sci-fi crush was Tasha Yar/Denise Crosby in TNG: Of course then she got killed by a blob of tar...

'V' the mini series and the tv program. I did like the program better because Michael Ironside added his awesomeness to the show. And while others know Robert Englund a Freddie Kruger, to me he'll always be Willie.

1969 I was 5 years old in Grade 1 and then they herded all of us into a giant room with a tiny black and white TV at the front and I saw this 'That's one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind.' I thought it was boring at the time.

That's pretty funny. I've never seen it before. The only Monkey God I know and like is the one in Journey to the West, a China production in the 80s.. It's a faithful adaptation, a good one too, of the classic novel. The actor who portrayed Monkey God is the best I've ever seen. It's hard to convey anger and mischief, etc, under all that makeup but he did it. This reminded me that I thought I'd heard about a more recent adaptation, so I looked it up. Wikipedia tells me there was a new Journey to the West series in 2010, and then another in 2011... and several movies in the last few years. This has been remade a lot...

As a active boy growing up in the seventies, I constantly had scabby knees and bumps and bruises. I remember that these were the only medicines my Mom had in our medicine cabinet. Mecuricome Campho-phenique and Solarcaine The Trinity fix all!

Logan's Run with Michael York. In Lothering in DAO the lead bounty hunter looks a lot like Michael York - it feels odd to kill him Jenny Agutter was a hot one.

Growing old is great - you can still goof around just like age 12, but now nobody can really reign you in anymore . Plus we have all those completely useless memories that are fun to reminisce about and feel really 1337 doing so : Like this: Crap...I actually get that. Too bad you didn't add the big ass, nylon tape storage media cases everyone had in their car back then. Course, I easily qualify for the thread since I still have my Vic 20 and Commodore 64...sigh. Age, you can't hide from it, just reap the benefits...like lower car insurance.

The fact that a) I recognized OP's screenshot as King's Quest 3, that said recognition made me squee at how much I loved that game and c) that I bought all of the Sierra games on GOG not so long ago and have actually replayed a few of them, not minding having to type the commands, should tell you how much I belong in this thread.
