I regret I did not take any of the optional computer course in high school in the 80's. But I recall not know what to make of them or even guessing how big an impact they might have from that point in the early to mid-80's. Same for me. There was an optional computer course, but it wasn't well developed, now I somewhat regret that.

I knew one guy who had one and he played those text rpg's of the time and that seemed to me what people wanted them for! I do regret it. Not that I'd have gone into IT or anything but it would have helped me contribute more to the bit of modding I did a few years ago.

I have to admit I've never sat through a Humphrey Bogart movie, or Clark Gable or Cary Grant...that I know of. My mom was Charlton Heston/Yul Brennar fan so I watched things like The Ten Commandments, West World, The Omega Man, The Planet of the Apes, Earthquake, The King and I, Soylent Green and so on. My sister is the Silver screen buff in my family and could give you a critique on all of that, me, I'd rather watch Godzilla vs. the Thing because cheesy giant lizards and moths/caterpillars are my thing. I watched a lot of movies from Raoul Walsh, John Ford, Howard Hawks,(another yet ), and others I forgot. My Dad is responsible, I discovered some gems the cinema has created by his side while watching TV. But why do not tell us about some horror movies you consider the best? Did you saw the frenkenstein movies? (stupid question) Does it was on the megadrive? and what was the games you remind the most on this console? ....... cheese surrender monkeys...tss tsss tsss.. Nasferatu was the creepiest movie from that era IMO, yes I saw Frakenstien, The Bride of Frakenstein and Dracula but Nasferatu was the one that gave me nightmares. The next one after that was Salem's Lot. That kid floating outside the window was creepy. Aside from those two movies, horror movies don't really scare me and now that I'm an adult, those shows don't bother me either. By the time I was teenager I became desensitized to horror films and now I cheer on the axe muderer, shake my head at the idiot who stays in the haunted house and laugh triumphantly when I correctly guess which character is haboring the parasitic alien. My favorite recently made 'horror' flicks have been Alien vs Predator (because I love the concept of an ancient pyramid under the antarctic ice and how the story ties into Inca/Mayan type history AND I LOVE, LOVE LOVE the structure and carvings on the pyramid. That design is gorgeous.) and the new version of 'The Thing' that came out a couple of years ago mainly because it was an interesting prequal to the 1982 Kurt Russel version.

Exactly not necessarily for a job, but in order to modding, bios settings, etc...even if I'm able to build a PC by myself. I know that it's no enough for me.

This is how you program kids! *Hangs head in shame* I have another confession... I am barely computer literate....and the only thing I remember about these cards is that we used them in art class one year to make a Christmas wreath.... Staple the corners of one end together, then staple the other end to a cardboard ring, repeat aroung the cardboard ring ,keep filling in the ring until the it's all filled in, then spray paint with festive colors and add plastic holly, some pine cones, a fancy ribbon and some garland....yeah, when it comes to computers I am a noob.

R.I.P. Gene Wilder, 1933-2016. I really hate 2016 :'( I was a big fan, and my friends and I are still known to respond appropriately anytime we hear someone say "Where wolf?" My favourite performance of his was back in The Producers: ( link to clip)

I remember studying BASIC in high school but that's it. Can still count in binary and hexadecimal though, which came in handy when playing Rama.
As for horror movies, vampire flicks scared the living crap out of me as a kid. Still not a big fan unless it's Buffy the Vampire Slayer/Angel - type vampires. But give me some cheesy "Empire of the Ants" monster movie of the week and I was all over that after-school special. Also, Godzilla and King Kong ftw.

At work, too many to count. Learnt a couple by myself as well, ie Access, Basic, Delphi. First program I wrote was on punch cards in Fortran.

2016 is just a wrong, wrong year.
Speaking of old horror or scifi, when I was little I watched a movie that really creeped me out. It left an impression for years. Somewhere in my 30s, I think, a guy in the office was talking about old scifi, and I described what I remembered of the movie. He said, "Oh that's Five Million Years to Earth" and he loaned me a copy on videotape. In the UK it was called Quatermass and the Pit. Watching the UK and US trailers now it looks laughable, but when I was small it was just creepy and weird.
I remember a time when one of the early movie channels had a big Hammer Horror weekend, and I just sat there for hours.

I've memories of some other SF shows but I cannot remember the titles. One was about a police officer (I think) investigating a series of disappearances; most of them sportsmen. I recalled a man all in black with a woman who carried a briefcase. They would visit sports centers, gyms and find ways to speak to their victim alone. The woman would direct the victim towards the dark suit man who would then open his coat and somehow engulfed the victim. The victim vanished, all that was left was his clothes which the woman then picked up. Towards the end, the officer caught up to the couple and confiscated the briefcase. He was shocked to find the miniaturized victims, all still alive, gagged. The camera panned to their chests and I had no idea what it meant; were they being kidnapped for organ harvesting or something? The second was about a crew on a ship who discovered a strange planet that seemed frozen in time. There were no people, nothing was moving. They found a complex full of columns. Later, they came across a console which they then tried to operate. They accidentally opened one of the columns, revealing where the inhabitants had gone or some of them. They were either hibernating or frozen in time, I think the former because the being (with a big brain btw) spoke to the captain. I forgot what he wanted, I think it's something bad since there was some heated discussions. The captain decided they had to restart time or something on the planet.
