Old enough to remember when the gas station attendants pumped the gas...

Woot! I wondered where this thread went! And yeah, I remember gas station attendants too. I was always fascinated when they squeegeed the windshield. I also remember Tim Conway and Harvey Korman on the Carol Burnett show...those were good times! That show had some REALLY funny skits!

Just came across this thread and I am well and truly over the age limit to the point I posted yesterday about Bioware needing to release games faster as I'll either be dead or just too damn old to play them. Yeah. It’s a mixed bag. You want them to spend time to do it right but when people nonchalantly talk about 5+ year gaps I’m like I don’t have that many more of those left in me anymore.

Nah, that elhanan guy from BSN Prime was old. He still played DAI. The thing I hate about having turned 40 in October, is less than a week later, and every morning since when I get out of bed I stretch and make an Oooooh sound... What the hell is that? Why can I not get out of bed without sound effects?

I remember watching this with my mom. I think that's probably the most remembered skit of the show. I loved how they would crack each other up... Tim Conway was always good at that.

I view age as just a number. I doubt I will be too old, as you call it, to play games, but I could see my interest declining. I've met people in their 80's playing games. A couple of them knew more about a few games than I did. Some play video games to keep up with their grandchildren and great-grandchildren. For me, being retired, and having a lot of free time to spare, playing video games fills up some of that time.

Maybe the videogames will miss me. hahahaha

So if I get 20 more years, while after that it doesn’t matter In that 20 years I’d like 10 great BioWare games not 4.

I remember the moon landing. Awesome. Hopefully we can get back to the moon again. Maybe I'll still be around when we go to Mars.

My mother has hung onto this for 40 years. Those were cool. I had all the Disney stories on view-master. Disney also had a 45 record with a storybook and you'd turn the page when Tinkerbell rang her little bell.

I think it's cool Elon Musk wants to build a "MoonBase Alpha" up there on the moon. I hope he does it, too.

Oh man wait till your 52!!!!! I stretch religiously having played a lot of sport and the creaks and cracks and groans from me are like a terrible symphony!!!! Yeah. While I mock the youth of today and their over protected lifestyles I recognize I’d be in a lot less constant pain if I was a less reckless youth. So yeah, helmets while biking, don’t build rickety jumps out of lumber you find in the neighborhood, skip rock tag and stick fighting with oak debris in you yard, don’t test to see if you can parry an arrow with a staff, fireworks Wars are not advised etc. So many concussions and broken bones I could have avoided. Don’t get me wrong my youth was a blast and I probably wouldn’t trade it for the world. But, damn the wear and tear adds up over time. Wow that brought back so many memories!!!! Did you have sling shots, god only knows how we survived those things as kids without losing an eye. And hell yeah fireworks wars were the best, we had a shop near us where you could actually buy the individual components and make your own. We also had a cement making plant near our house and they used to dump the waste into a creek that ran next to it, (the horror can you imagine that happening now) and it would make the creek semi-set and we'd run on the top and see how far we got till we sunk up to our chests. I can't imagine what was in the mud and how someone didn't drown.

Well I have a similar view re age but one thing that always grounds me is when I walk onto the baseball field. My mind might think its still 21 but the body knows exactly how old it is!!!!! My biggest problem with gaming going forward is learning to deal with not being as good as I used to be reflex wise and speed of cognition. I already get frustrated way to easily, its something I need to work on.
