It literally feels like some parody, before the game came out people were saying no bigots all the time I thought it was some joke, when i saw the text word for word in the game i nearly lost my shit.

Okay the cringe levels are off the charts. Why are all my crew and companions spilling their guts to me. Since the get go it's been nothing but emotional overload. Aren't these people supposed to be professionals handpicked for this? It's seriously hard to find a good conversation without listening to someones sob story. Cora, Liam, Peebee and Jaal are non stop in this mood. Only Drack and Vetra have been decent enough to do their damn job without crying every second sentence, I guess it's why I've stuck with them in the end game. Seriously this is getting paradoxical. Shepard had to go to great lengths to earn the respect not only of his companions, but of the other major characters. Ryder is basically a puppy surrounded by people who supposedly are better qualified and more experienced, yet they behaving like morons. Even the god damn asari doctor, who is probably hundreds of years old needs my reassurance. Come on, the writing has to be more solid than this... If it bothers you that much, why do you get into personal conversations with them? Just don't do it unless you like one of them enough to get into some sort of intimate relationship. In ME1, I totally ignored Ashley right after I had my first conversation with her. The game didn't penalize me for it and I didn't have to listen to stuff I didn't want to hear anyway.  |

The other thing that wrecks immersion is the fact that all races behave like humans in this game. Turians the militaristic civilization? Nope. Asari the long lived and experienced hot chicks? Get patronized by a 30 something year old Cora. Angarans? Hipster humans that like hugs. Thank god for the krogans! Wish I could play as one... THIS HOLY SHIT its annoying as fuck Every single race acts the same now even the salarians speak more normal and even the krogans behave less like killing machines brutes and are soft spoken traders |

Every character in the Mass Effect trilogy had Daddy issues. Some like Miranda, Tali, Jacob and Wrex literally had Daddy issues. Thane was his own walking Daddy issue. It's not SJWs, it's poor writing and poor voice direction and BW putting their B team on their most poplar franchise so their A team can work on the new IP. It's like they learned nothing from the TOR experience. (DA2 was a rush job due to BW focusing too much on TOR).

The trilogy wasn't like this at all, conversations were more normal as you would expect talking to someone you just met and you had to dig deeper to find more personal stuff. Here? I've not even asked and they already told me everything about themselves. It just doesn't make sense to me that they would behave like this in such a situation and it's not only the companions. Not that it's easy to avoid, when basically every door you open on the Tempest starts a cutscene with a companion. I'd have to do only the main quest to avoid all the nonsense. Is it really much that I'm asking for? These people signed up for this shit, we came here and it didn't work out as planned, but we have a job to do. I don't HATE it or anything, but it can get tedious.
Help Dorian with his daddy. Help Miranda with her daddy. Help Jacob with his daddy. Talk to Garrus about his daddy. Help Thane be a better daddy. Then, when you are done with that...
Help Grunt go through puberty. Help Cole become a real boy. Help EDI become a 'real' sex-bot. Help Joker decide if he likes EDI the sexbot. Seriously. Bioware has you rolepaying a shrink with a gun (or a shrink with a sword) in every damned game they make. Well, at least in DA and ME games. The difference I think that folks are feeling is that Shephard could tell his/her crew to toughen up instead of babying them so much. Seriously, I so wanted to yell at Cora after her loyalty mission "You are an ASARI HUNTRESS, fro frack's sake. Quit being such a follower and get your shit together!" I really do miss renegade options...  |
