Krogan that let themselves be captured are just salarians in disguise. Might as well go for the pathfinder.

I saved the salarians because in no way I was going to let the Archon get a Pathfinder. Drack made me feel a bit miserable later though, but I stand by my choice.

No. It was a no-brainer, no emotional qualms thing. I've chosen Salarians over Krogans back in ME2/3. Raeka >>>> Drack.

I made an emotional choice : I saved the krogans.
And I remembered that the salarians were the only ones to not be on my side on ME3 because I cured the genophage (exception of Kirrahe of course, best salarian ever with Mordin)... the krogans, in the contrary, were always by my side. So yeah, krogans forever and I really have no regret.
Now I have a team of pathfinder newbies (Avitus, Hayjer and Vederia) and I'm perfectly fine with it.

Saving the Salarians seems to be a much more logical choice. Their Pathfinder is really capable and they need the leadership. Drack's scouts aren't that important in the grand scheme of things.

I always saved the Krogans and wasn't going to stop now. This mission (I suppose you could argue over this on any mission) points out the flaw of not ever having the choice of forming two teams.

Captive Salarians + the Salarian Pathfinder is more valuable than the few Krogan Scouts. Besides, they're Krogan. They could've easily fought their way out. Or at least died trying.

I was playing Ryder as someone who makes spectacularly poor decisions, so I figured he'd be the type to save the scouts just to make Drack happy. It just felt like the right choice for the character.

Saved the Salarians. Salarian pathfinder was more important to my eyes than a handful of krogan scouts.

The binary choice in that mission was pure shite. Cheap angst. Storytelling bile. Feeble attempt at drama. A wasted opportunity to make having squadmates be in ANY way meaningful to the story. I could keep going, but I have ranted about this particular mission enough already, meethinks. I chose the krogans. They get screwed over enough as is. But it was a garbage decision either way. It was the stupid ass equivalent of Stroud versus Hawke in DAI. Atrocious. Lazy writing. Crap. Utter crap. Ridiculous crap. I don't have enough adjectives or energy to keep going... Breathe...think of pangolins...sweet, happy pangolins....Come on timebean stop holding back. Tell us how you really feel

I saved the Krogans but I didn't do it for Drack, but because an army of exalted Krogans seemed like a really fighting outcome. But I still felt guilty about losing another Pathfinder and was afraid to go talk to Kallo. Especially since I took Gil's side about the ship, I was thinking he must certainly hate me by now,

Not even a little. They were soldiers and knew what they were getting into. The Salarians were just civilians that are having the worst morning of their lives. Was a no brainer for me. Also Raeka is great.

Save the salarians instead of the krogan. My first time I saved the krogan but this time I wanted to try the slarians instead. I felt horrible for no other reason then drack's response. Poor guy. Anyone else have this and will never choose the salarians again Na - I felt sorry for Drak (both times), especially since I had him with me (I dreaded a Wrex-Genophage-Scene the first time (where I had to threaten him with a gun or something)), but a pathfinder (especially an original one, not a replacement!) is worth way more than what basically amounts to some grunts (Krogan or not) So no...I kind of feel good about saving the Salarian Pathfinder, despite the game IMHO trying to influence you to go after the Krogan (in a kind of: Stupid Salarian, you should have stayed put! Didn't I tell you to stay put?) greetings LAX

Felt like a hard choice right away, but when I thought about why I wanted to save them it was really no contest. I wanted to save the krogan because of Ryder's friendship with Drack and the Salarians because of their pathfinder. The first choice is an emotional one and the second a rational one. Drack will get over it. I choose salarians every time.

I saved Raeka because she's the last original pathfinder alive and the scouts are, well, scouts. What I really didn't like is how the game is treating the choice more as a krogan vs salarian scenario, and you can't explain it beyond saying you're sorry. Drack reacts like a child and acts like you betrayed him even if you were the best of friends and it locks you out of his final companion quest. It felt really off and petty coming from him personality-wise and considering I gave the krogan the drive core, so the usual victim complex was misplaced.

Anyone else have this and will never choose the salarians again Most people are extremely uncomfortable when faced by (justified) anger/displeasure by people they like. It's quite normal, and one of the key aspects of social conditioning, where people choose actions based more on the response of other people than their own sense of right and wrong. It's a staple of Bioware writing, but only rarely do they point sympathetic anger against a player for a reasonable choice. Usually choices that anger companions are 'for their own good' sort of things- where the player can feel morally secure in their choice until the companion comes around to appreciate them for choosing the right thing.

As for the better than/worse than choice...
One thought on justifying it is that you aren't saving Raeka necesasarily, though she's certainly an asset. You can justify it in that you're keeping a set of SAM implants from falling into the hands of the enemy.
SAM implants are supposedly a Big Deal, and in rather short supply. Probably not the best thing for Kett to get their hands on, even if you didn't catch that the Archon knows about the AI in your head.
It doesn't actually matter, of course, but it could be a factor that makes Raeka unique rather than exxpendible.

It's very hard decision because it become personal to you (Since Drack is your friend and with me in this mission). But I choose to save Salarian Because this is not just any salarian. Raeka is Pathfinder, that why she is more important & valuable than some Krogan scout. If she is just some scout, I will choose to save Krogan for Drack 100%.

Raeka made a massive judgement call, and the Ark shouldn't have been in that situation in the first place, so while it was hard to leave her behind, it was a lot easier than leaving the Krogan scouts.

I could care less if a few salarians die but I would never leave any of my Krogan brothers to a fate worse than death. Pretty sure my Ryder was a Krogan in a past life.

I'm sure the kett can make something creepy out of the salarians as well, but I'd rather they don't have attack krogans.
Also, I told Raeka to stay behind because I had serious doubts about this genius plan of Fronline Attack Salarian Who Has Been Defrosted 10 Minutes Ago. Her "rescue" scene was hard to take serious because by the time she showed up, there was a whole of two normal kett soldiers left on my field my primary concern was why Jaal and Vetra were screaming WE ARE GETTING OVERWHELMED (I was playing on normal and not exceptionally well, so I'm not sure what happened there). She got advice from my Ryder, she didn't heed it, and then the consequences happened.
I think it was too easy to replace Pathfinders. I knew they could just stuff the salarian SAM into the next guy, so losing her personally was not that big a deal.

Krogans. I will save Krogans every time I can. Krogans are my favorite. I'm sure the kett can make something creepy out of the salarians as well, but I'd rather they don't have attack krogans. I would never save Reaka.
The Kett are ready to make a Krogan Army, I mean who in their right mind would be okay with a Krogan Army just to save a Pathfinder? Every Pathfinder is expendable.
Furthermore staying in Stasis and fooling the Kett that the Pathfinder is dead, wasn't even her idea. What exactly did she do that makes are so amazing?
No, Captain Hayjer is the right Salarian for the job.
