Okay, I Take It Back (Vanguard OP)

Considering the vanguard in this game is alot more durable than in previous tittles I don't mind him zipping around the stage as much as it was a problem in ME3. I remember my first silver game in ME3 having a vanguard that talked mad shit in the lobby promising to not let us get any pointsand went down in wave one rage quitting after. At least now they can hold their own with such a brain dead tactic.

Nop i dont care what people play. And if i have to make a choice among playing whit Vanguard and Engineer i would take the Vanguard any day of the week.

Right now, the two most successful builds are melee and snipers with vanquisher.

The nature of the beast is that we're gonna be in each other's way, due to playstyle.

As long as they are doing objectives and helping out with reviving, I don't mind the minor annoyance of having my targets sniped right before my killing blow.

Likewise, I do the objectives and revive and use consumables. I'm doing my best to help the match be a success for everyone.

If I get in your way sometimes while I'm trying to kill targets, my bad, but you'll just have to deal with it.

With that said, I do try to hunt away from others during survival waves and rez myself if I go down away from the team.

I don`t care what other players do as long as they help me get easy credits.

They can play Vanguard, use Krysae and do Hydra glitch if they want.

It`s only a game. If I don`t like them after they help me get credits I will simply leave the lobby.

Yeah nova guards are just as annoying in this game as they were in the last game. I am playing them more but I get annoyed a myself for playing them.

Being that I am, by nature, a frontline in your face kinda guy, Vanguards have always been my thing in ME. First few days of MP, yeah, I zipped all over nailing stuff nad probably irritating people. As I got better, and learned how things work a bit more, I attempt to seperate from the main group (sometimes other sides of buildings or whatever in the map) and do my thing there. I draw most of the aggro, and let the rest of the team kill at their leisure. However, the mindset that there is little risk to vanguards is simply untrue. If you dont get a charge in when its available, you die. if you cant land that punch, you die. vanguard is really kill or be killed moment to moment. Add to that the cheap ass sync-killers that dont even have to be anywhere near you, and will target the vanguards over anything else, and its not as easy as youd think to stay alive.

Shrugs. Ill play with anyone, its just a game, and we are cooperating not competing. Just sit back, have fun, and thank anyone that makes your life easier.

Nope I don't mind meat shields.

I have noticed that all the Vanguards now run away from the hydras on gold.

I also wanted to add this. I am a scrub, and know little of games. But I kindda believe that this still holds true:

the faster we kill what we came to kill, the likelier we are to succeed
focused fire kills the fastest

hence, I'd rather have a lively Vanguard charging into my primed target and my detonator misfiring, than a vanguard quietly bleeding out on the other end of the map out of misguided reading of the honor code or because he does not keep up with his own mobility and over-extends.

Same goes for guys who actually can shoot the sniper rifles straight and fast. By all means, darling, please one-shoot any number of mooks across the map, if you also are instrumental in the boss not devouring the rest of us alive

It's really only annoying with the Kroguard. You can shoot around the human vanguards most of the time.. but not that fat Krogan hump. So yes.. I agree with the OP that it can be annoying.. but I'm not going to kick anyone for it, or not revive them. BUT.. BUT.. if they don't help with Objectives or refuse to gel during wave six.. I'll kick them out of the lobby afterwards.

I know how it is to want to snipe something then have it disappear to a Vanguard's melee or charge. I am a courteous Vanguard. I charge big stuff that needs assistance. Like in Left 4 Dead 2 where Coach yells "We all gotta shoot the tank!" I run to the side of the map where my team isn't. I try to kill there. If I fall flat on my ass, I get myself up and don't wait to be rescued. That doesn't happen often though just sayin'...
