PROS: Will instantly solve all gender-related protagonist problems by putting it out of equation. Lore justification for having all sort of romances without the need for #gendergate, and no issues with a displeased this or that crowd, at least in context of romances. Lore justification for lack of classes and justification on how non-biotic character can suddenly do biotic stuff (all Asari are Biotics) Dozens of other pros I have not bothered to list
CONS: Virtually none, unless you are filthy xenofobic bigot and dare to have different opinion from mine (!!!WARNING; THIS PART IS SARCASM AND WAS MEANT AS A JOKE!!! just saying because seeing how easily offended, squareminded and satire/irony/sarcasm insensitive some ppl are here, so they don't get instantly triggered)

I would want to have sex myself as the protagonist. 0 plot progression after that.
And...
I can do that at home.

I think the option would be nice, they could just use the same voice lines as the female human protagonist, just with variation where racial differences are necessary.

I think the option would be nice, they could just use the same voice lines as the female human protagonist, just with variation where racial differences are necessary. What I meant was to be able to play only as Asari, with no human protagonist at all. All things considered, I think it will be too time and resource consuming to make playable protagonists of different races in the same game, and will ultimately detract more from from quality than add it.

Sure, why not? I'm all for more options. It's just taking away my option of playing as a human is not 'more options'.
DAI tried it. If you ask me - it was a waste of time and resources, but some people love playing as 'non-boring' qunari or dwarves. Even if it makes no fucking sense lore\setting-wise. ElfQuizitor does not make much sense either, but there are SOME things that make such a PT worthwhile.

Cons: Asari are a mary-sue species and nobody likes mary-sues. People liked Shepard though! I'd love different player races like what DA:I did but Andromeda was the game to do that. I want to see the Ryder character return because they have a lot more potential than Shepard ever did for long term significant growth and development.

The whole game centered around elves and elven lore. If you also consider the Solas romance and the impact it has on the story, the Elf Inquisitor actually makes the MOST sense as a protagonist. Also, I don't think implementing different races into a game is a waste of time at all. If anything, it only enrichens the game and increases replayability. And since Dragon Age is all about races, I would be pretty bummed if I was forced to play as a human.

I think it would be nice to take a DAO/DAI approach to the protagonist in the next MEA game and have multiple races available. More choice is always good.
That way the alien lovers get their fix and the xenophobes can stick with a human.

Qunari was kind of ham-fisted, but elf and dwarf made sense I thought.
In general, races are fun. I liked my -1 Charisma dwarf in NWN, he was funny.
Asari would definitely make sense. Why don't the big studios do smaller spin-off games? Every game has to be Ben-Hur. We can enjoy a smaller story about the cold days and hot nights of a fiery, passionate Asari commando.

I would like that. I mean, why not? It would be refreshing to play as something else than human in a Mass Effect game. So as long as they don't make the Asari feel just like humans. I think all races in MEA suffered from this. They didn't feel alien at all. I mean I was never a fan of how unoriginal and one-note the alien races were in the original trilogy - but in hindsight and after MEA... wow. At least they felt somewhat different back then.

Playing an Asari, or an alien in general, would be awesome imo. Not to pander to the hypersensitive community whining about the lacking shaggability of basically 75% of all npcs - really, go to rule34 if that's all you're interested in this game - but because the alien races in mass effect are cool as fuck and I want to play a witty krogan diplomat with a big ass hammer.
That was not meant as a penis metaphor, but literally as a krogan with a huge fucking warhammer.

I've got a short word for you. It's 'lore'. Elves are basically the 'quarians' of DA (actually it's vice versa, I know, it's not important). Lore-wise ElfQuizitor makes no more sense than a quarian taking place in ME Council or krogan being promoted into SPECTRes. Same true for a qunQuizitor. Dwarf probably is the least fucked up one...as long as you ignore him using his green hand magic, and as long as you don't mind the most hilarious cut-scene in the series, which is - the Halamshiral balroom dancing.
Watch how she floats up at 1:25 and 2:00. And the dance move at 2:33 should've smashed Florianne's head againts the floor (after breaking her spine first).
As for Solas - I've already mentioned that there's a thing good enough so that you may want to mislook and ignore the rest of the inconsistencies and BS happening around. It does not add any extra sense, though.

It does not add any extra sense, though. Okay, fair enough. A Krogan or a Quarian becoming a Spectre would be pretty random. But the main story in Inquisition revolved mostly around elves. The Well of Sorrows quest solidified my belief about that. If your character is a Dalish Elf, they will be much more in touch with what's happening around them, since they were raised to believe in the elven gods, taught to speak Elvhen etc. Plus them taking the Well of Sorrows just seems more "right" than a Qunari (the Qunari Inquisitor did feel sort of out of place, I must admit, but if someone wants to play as them, why not?) Which race makes the most sense, then, according to you? Humans? If so, why?

Technically - it's that very 'boring (noble) human', which had been the one and only PC before the marketing had tossed in 'hey, let's make some races, shall we?'. Like it or not, the entire plot had been originally desinged around a human. The Human, actually - initially Hawke was supposed to be part of the 'Exalted march' DA2 exansion. Rest of the races had been shoehorned into game pretty late in development. The result is - lore had suffered AND the race-sensitivity is almost non-existent and cosmetic, even for the elf (which does not understand the Elvhen speech and asks hell lot of stupid 'who's Mythal' questions). Huge budget was spent on 8 different models and 4 different VAs. Male\Female doubles the costs, here it had been quadrupled. And some things could never be fixed (like those scenes, where dwarf had to 'fly' and qunari had clipping issues).
Was it worth it? I'd say 'no', but you hear how some people 'don't wanna be dat boring human'.Apparently, being a 'short human', a 'horny human' or 'human with pointy ears' makes The Difference. Basically, that's what non-human Inq was 98% of the game. But since my 'boring' option remained - I'm fine with that. Still, if there was a chance to repurpose the budget for more in-world activity and interactions instead - I'd rather have that instead of the 'PC diversity'.
