Yep... and for those who weren't aware, there was a *major* exploit in the last build. Maxed out XP & Gold with one quest.
DANG IT! WHY DO I KEEP MISSING THESE?
If you play on a console, I would agree - HOW CAN YOU EVEN AFFORD TO MISS THESE? Greetings from the PC Master Race corner. You get the exclusives, but we can mod the crap out of our stuff! I won't even play ACOD again if I don't have my options for full horse speed in towns and the always available tweaks to just about anything (10x exp rate? Sure. But I wonder how 24x feels...let's go nuts! Hey, a place without a quick travel point nearby - Scottie, beam me there now!).

saandrig I do play on PC but have never modded my game. Any game for that matter because I'm too nervous to do it. Afraid I'll mess it up.
Nowadays it's so easy that you really have to know what you are doing in order to mess it up Often it's not even mods, but tools like Cheat Engine, WeMod, trainers, etc that are all kinda plug and play. Ever tried ME2 with an unlimited ammo Cain? I did once. It was a blast
Yet as budgets have increased, the price point for end users remains the same -- roughly $60/£50 for a new release. If Ubisoft is trying to make bigger and better worlds, is this model even sustainable?
"It is sustainable, because the world is big and the number of players that can play our games is immense," says Guillemot. "What we've seen in the last few years is the number of players that play our games is constantly growing.
"New markets are opening up and games live a lot longer than before. So at the moment we see that we can continue to increase the investments because we know we can have a return on investment that can be quite long[-tailed]."
He adds that the 60 hour average play time for Odyssey proves that "players got a lot from their investment in the game, a lot more than they got before."
- Personally, I've really enjoyed AC:O & AC:OD's open-worlds, so I'm actually happy they're carrying on with this trend.
Assassin's Creed @assassinscreed Experience the world of Classical Greece in Discovery Tour: Ancient Greece. In this educational mode, explore the world as a living museum, travel to over 29 regions, and embark on 30 guided tours led by charismatic characters such as Leonidas, Herodotus, and more!
My 11 year old son finished his class study of Ancient Greece like just over a month ago...
When he went into the menu, though, and that choral music started playing...I have to admit...it was tempting to jump in again...

LIES!
Going by how long to beat, the average - all playstyles average - is 85 hours... The rest of the sentence is accurate, lots of content for the price.

I mean, in fairness - he said "play time", not "average time to beat the game". Not everyone who plays it will complete it. I remember on BSN Prime one of the devs once shared an anecdote about completion rates in DA and it was an astonishingly low number.
But - yes, a very, very good time played:dollars spent ratio.

I still feel bad for admitting this because I freaking LOVE Assassin's Creed, but I'm still having trouble getting into Assassin's Creed Odyssey to really consider it one of Assassin's Creed's best games. It's a great game! Worthy of being one of the greatest games of the year! But I think my reasons for not getting into it are more based on personal preferences. I find the beginning pretty slow and the character's motivations rather lackluster, plus I'm generally not as into Ancient Greece compared to other historical settings. I prefer Origins, but that's just me.
My Rules: THE BOOKS MATTER. THE EXTENDED CUTS DO NOT MATTER. THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS OBJECTIVELY GOOD STUFF. THE WORST THING SOMETHING CAN BE IS BORING. THE WORST ATTENTION IS NO ATTENTION.
So I trudged thru Atlantis, perhaps 30 hours for all 3 areas, only to be decidedly underwhelmed at the end when it came to Kassandra's journey. The hints that your actions in Atlantis meant something came to nothing, again, and even the other versions of the last fight all ended the same way. As for the final scene with
bitch-face Layla turning into a psychotic loon (oh yes, let Kass wait 2500 years to give the staff to her, great idea)....well, it was hogwash, and badly written hogwash at that
I'm going to go finish up the tales of ancient Greece, but the 2 main DLCs have killed off the plans I had at the end of the main game to play again. I just can't go through all of that again, it was a grind. Too much content, too much busy work, too much of the same old same old.
Ah well, I enjoyed a lot of it. And now I have Origins to try.

I'm still only have about 12 hours into AC Odyssey. I had no issue getting into Origins, but Odyssey start is kinda boring...and I do like Ancient Greece personally.

I did a few hours of Atlantis and it didn't grab me. I'm fine with doing forts and all that in the "real world" but not fine with Atlantis since what's-her-name said it's a simulation. So why the heck am I doing the simulated grind for a staff, alt powers, cheesy bam bam and having to look at a modern day protag I'm are not interested in? It's all filler, I feel. It would have been better if 90% of the DLC is story. As it is, I decided I'm not going to play the Atlantis DLC.

Yep. Every now and then, when meeting an old character or making a decision, I'd think 'but this isn't real' and it totally ruined it for me. It takes the emotion out of what would have been meaningful encounters.
I much prefer the tales of Greece as they're more story driven, way shorter, and with different themes. Giving us more of the same open world in Atlantis and First Blade is not what I want after 100 hours doing all that stuff already

As much as I enjoyed playing in Greece and looking at Alexios *cough* I much preferred Origins. The only thing I liked better about Odyssey is the combat. I really want them to get rid of Layla. I have a strong hatred for her and the longer they use her the more I dislike her. Why did she get the staff? She sucks, imo
I finished Greedfall so now I can finally get into the tour thing. I've shelved my Kass pt. I'm just not invested her for some reason. I'll mess around on Alexios and then maybe get back to my NG+ Origin that I dropped win Odyssey came out.

Wonder when we'll get word of the next AC game?
It's Viking themed and the rumor is it's slated for next gen.

I imagine it'll probably be a cross-gen game given that it should release right around the time the new consoles come out.
We'll probably get an official announcement at E3 next year, as that's what Ubi usually does. Then expect an October release, or with the new consoles.
