It's historical fiction, hence the lore of twists on history, everything is not accurate. They make that pretty clear, especially with "the ones before."

And now we're back to my earlier post about eve being a rebel slave, who stole the apple and ran off with Adam to start a war with those who came before.
It's still right up there with "would you kindly" for me.

I just started playing Syndicate today. It's my first Assassin's Creed game, so I have nothing intelligent to add to this conversation. But I do have a dumb question! Is it possible to die in the game? If so, does it just reload the last checkpoint? Or what? I've only done two assassinations so far, but the fights have seemed really easy and I didn't even notice a health bar anywhere. The worst that happened was Jacob having to scavenge some knives off of corpses because he ran out.

You "desynchronize" (these games made me hate this word) which is basically dying (or failing, or being spotted in some cases). When that happens you will get the old annoying DESYNCHRONIZED screen and the game will reload the last checkpoint. BTW it's much easier to die while climbing than in combat. Sometimes the characters are just dumb and jump in the wrong direction...

Sometimes the characters are just dumb and jump in the wrong direction... Oh god, yes. I think it was in Assassin's Creed 2 where you had to do a race across the rooftops in Venice and had a timer. And you had to do this mission. And I failed so often because Ezio wouldn't go where he needed to go. Controllers were thrown across rooms often that day.

Sometimes Ezio was just the dumbest.. but at least he did not instantly die when touching water. Wasn't able to throw anything sadly because my mouse and keyboard were both wired. Damn, I really want to play AC2 again but thinking of this (and other things.. leonardos flying piece of shit) effectively keeps me away from doing another playthrough.

Thanks I'm currently trying to destroy some thugs' carriage and almost "died" twice (so far) in the process, but fought several guys at once with no problem. It's hilarious. I got some sort of "wanton destruction" badge as well, and there's part of a lamp post stuck on my horse's head. I love this game so far

It has (imo) by far the best combat of all ACs so far. And don't worry. When you try out the older games you will see the DESYNCHRONIZED screen a lot more often than in Syndicate . There are way more "get spotted and you die instantly"-sequenzes which can get quite annoying.. especially when you managed to kill every guard but one in a big room, then you are sneaking up to the last remaining guard, but in the last second he turns around, sees you and you fail even though it was the last damn guard in the room, wasn't able to call for help and died one moment after he saw you. The older games were true masters at making me angry. Have fun playing one of the (imo again) better (not as good as AC2 or AC Brotherhood) AC games.

I'd rather say that "It's not Assassin's Creed unless the Assassin is very confused and can't follow simple orders". If they had a mind of their own I don't think they would jump to their death so often. Except they know that we're playing and they want to end it.. now I'm confused.

I always liked to say that about Connor in Assassin's Creed 3, I swear the chase and running sections in that game made me want to tear my hair out sometimes. That, and those very annoying optional objectives on some of the missions. *cough* Charles Lee chase *cough*

That, and those very annoying optional objectives on some of the missions. Oh god, yes. Those objectives could be so annoying. I usually don't care too much about them, but I decided to do a 100% playthrough of Unity one time, which was a bad idea, because sometimes the objectives wouldn't show up. One time I stealthed my way through Notre Dame and did everything perfectly, only to find out on the assassination endscreen that I missed an objective I didn't even know existed. Awesome.

I was in a rush yesterday, so I didn't get to mention that I was playing through Black Flag again. I was at about 76%. Was working on collections and such last time I played. Started up the game.......NO SAVE! NOTHING! All gone. Has anyone had that happen before? That was a first for me. I looked everywhere and couldn't find a save for it. Had to start over. Not so bad since the game is incredibly fun and I'm at 59%. But every time I start it now I'm afraid my game will mysteriously be gone again.

I played the first Assassin's Creed since I was in the 11th grade, and the game is very deep in a philosophical sense. I loved the conversations about their code of their Creed to liberty and justice. And as matter of fact there is a such thing as a genetic memory. I wonder is it possible that there is such thing as an animus to delve into the memories of our ancestors...

I started another playthrough of Unity today. Have been feeling like running around Paris again and haven't played the Dead Kings DLC yet. Say what you want, this game is really, really beautiful. Hopefully I'll be able to find some other players for co-op or get good enough gear in time to do them alone. The curse of being a completionist.

I loved AC1, the setting, the missions, just everything was perfect for me (I can still happily play it today), but the ones that followed were a let down and I eventually stopped buying them. Recently I received AC:Syndicate for my birthday, which renewed my AC love. So I am slowly working my way back through the catalogue from newest to oldest.

I've not ever played co-op, but I do play all of the AC games pretty regularly. If you want to add me on UPlay send me a msg and I can give it a try. Fair warning...I'll probably just be dead While I do love Ezio the most and thoroughly enjoy AC II, I've probably spent the most time playing AC IV. I love Rogue and Syndicate very much. But Altair has to get the credit for starting my love of it all . Enough rambling for today *slips into the shadows*

I really didn't like etzio myself. I liked Altair, and I wish they had done more with his character. But etzio was just paiful to play.
And I always felt the combat was way too easy after the first one. I even tried looking for a setting to increase the difficulty, but I coudln't find it.
one other thing from this series, is the finishing moves seem more and more elaborate. I would like a simple move to kill off some guy, not stabbing him in the stomach 3 times, slashing is throat once, slicing him in the back, and then running him through again. Give me one of those, and I'd be happy.
I haven't picked up any Assassins creed games since black flag. Mostly because I don't have a beastly machine that can run the one based in France. And I am curious about the one based in England, but I'm hesitant because it looks to be just another assassins creed game. Nothing special.
