I'm pleased to see this thread. I most enjoyed: - Assassin's Creed II
- Black Flag
- Syndicate
Good to see Ubisoft are taking a rest, though.

Ezio/Desmond as a protagonist was the time when AC was at its best. Sure Black Flag was great but the others....pff

Wouldn't exactly call myself a fan. I've played 1-3, Brotherhood, Revelations, and Black Flag.
Only ones I really enjoyed were 1, Brotherhood, and Black Flag. (I'm a sucker for the era of Pirates and I loved the sailing)
Was Rogue any good?

I'm loving hi definition memory lane. Although, it's not Assassin's Creed unless you're yelling at Ezio for having a mind of his own when you tell him to jump one way in a timed tomb and he jumps the other way.

Many things happened that are either not in history books or are false in history books... I don't know if I would want that responsibility! Did you guys know that if you purchase the Ezio Collection you get a free ticket to the movie? Booya!!!!! So excited to see!!!!

Nothing is original, everything is sequel. I played first and second, had fun with them actually, but after them this cloning machine just becomes unbearable. Tried Rogue hoping it would offer something new - nope, same goddamn thing with different icon on PC's chest. I think they reached point when franchise could use a proper funeral long time ago.

I love the Ezio AC games the most, but Altair is what hooked me on the series. I know that most the other games get bashed and I don't really care. I enjoy them for what they are, I know what to expect and that's what they deliver. Connor gets way more hate than he deserves. Arno, for me, was the most bland, boring, snoozefest character ever. Rogue is pretty good, but it's mostly just black flag 2.0. And, imo, Syndicate was incredibly fun to play and I thoroughly enjoyed and liked Jacob and Evie. I also know that a lot of ppl didn't like the modern day stuff, but I for one would love to see how that plays out. I didn't know that about the movie ticket Obliviousmiss. I'll be going to see the movie with my daughter because we are both excited for it, but I haven't gotten the remastered Ezio games for the Xbox one yet. Soon (tm).

I haven't played an AC game in a long time. I played the first game and all the Ezio titles, but I spoiled AC3 for myself and lost interest. I actually got Black Flag, but never got very far in it. Call it franchise fatigue, the most recent lackluster entries were not sufficient incentive to draw me back.
Am interested in the movie though.

Syndicate was surprisingly refreshing if you ever care to play it. You could get it super on sale if you're skeptical. I did not enjoy AC3, Black Flag or Unity at all. I only finished Unity out of those 3, and it was mostly out of spite. "This has GOT to get better by the end!" It was like a train wreck....I couldn't look away to see how it ended, and it ended badly. I gave the series one more shot with Syndicate, and I was pleasantly surprised!

This audio recording of Desmond is very deep and it made me think about not only people kept on repeating history, but I personally believe that it has something to do with the whole reincarnation thing, because if you die and come back to be a different person and you never have no knowledge of your past life that you have learned that means something is very wrong. It's like someone deleted all of your memories of your past life and starting over again without knowing why, and I think that's why the world is fucked up because of it.

I did like Assassin's Creed, but I stopped at Brotherhood(I got a little sick of Ezio hogging the protagonist seat, and Desmond was just a boring guy to me). Funnily enough I really liked Altair, mainly because of the discussions he has with Al Mualim, and I actually liked the little motive speechs that the templar leaders had and sorely missed that from 2 and Brotherhood.
I'll probably end up seeing the movie, but I think it's pretty goofy that the Animus goes from a thing you lay on into that robo-arm (is that a thing in the AC games I missed?).

That's probably to aid with the bleeding effect. Where in the later games the bleeding effect in canceled out by canonical regular breaks so you don't get fucked up, in the movie the bleeding effect may be one of the goals. We don't know yet.

I saw the film last night, and I think the critics are crazy. They're attacking Assassin's Creed like none other..... calling it hokey and baseless...
I can see where the problem is though. They didn't put enough of a foundation in there about the Assassins for people who hadn't played the games. So I can see why critics wouldn't get it and be confused...
BUT STILL. THE ACTION WAS GREAT! The acting was great! (Albeit, the script at first was a little cheesy.) And the music was awesome! I'd recommend any AC fan to see it.
Is it a must see Blockbuster like a Marvel movie? No.....but it's a step in the right direction for video game movie adaptations.

Saw the movie earlier today, and I thought it was fine. My mom and aunt came along too. Aunt thought it was good, but she seems to always say that about movies. My mom thought it was fine too, but she felt it was somewhat hard to follow but she did piece it together during the movie and after asking a few questions.
Funnily enough, I liked Sophia (Marion Cotillard's character) and was rooting for her to not get killed off. I wish there were more scenes in 1492 Spain.
I still think that the robo-arm is goofy.

I love the dynamic deep philosophical conversations of Altair and Al Mualim. I've learned so much about their creed and why they're standing up against those who seeks to dominate the world, but I understand the Templars as well because they are a whole lot of people who need rules and order because they refuse to be free.

Some maybe news about the next AC game: linkAlso, I finally got to watch the movie and I thought it was fine. I can see how if you didn't really know about the game it might be really confusing and I didn't much care for the animus arm thingie, but I guess it was more exciting than watching someone lie in a chair, lol. Anyways, I'm excited for a new AC game. I missed having one to play.
