The Sobek trial is available now, I'm wondering if anyone has tried it yet? I'm going to try to get around to it tonight or tomorrow. Thanks for the heads-up! I'll knock that out tonight or tomorrow as well. I wonder what we get? EDIT: I completed this trial on both my saves very quickly. It was both easier and more interesting than the Anubis trial. (Both are incredibly easy. Difficulty is clearly not a goal in these trials.) I received a Staff/Scepter on my Save #1/original PT. It, too, was Anubis-themed. I'd kind of hoped it might be Sobek-themed. The blurb implied all of the gear will be Anubis-themed. My Save#2 is actually my favored or preferred save. I have an even better arsenal and gear assortment from my second PT. That save was only level 12 when the Anubis trial ended, so I'm one weapon behind in the collection for that save. I'll complete my set when the reruns begin. When I logged in, I also noticed that the Horus Pack is live. I immediately started gathering stats. I kind of want this, though I'll not buy it yet. It's part of the Season Pass, or available separately for $6.99. The outfit makes Bayek look like a Paladin of Horus (or maybe a Jaffa of Heru'ur). It's not unfitting, given the "divinely sanctioned" justice the medjay were empowered to dispense. It comes with a pretty cool camel and two top flight legendary bows. The shield is not as good as the current three best, but it looks so badass and is very good. I want to hold off on buying any "packs", since I'd theoretically be willing to buy the Season Pass if the first DLC expansion is great. If not, I might eventually cave for this gear. It looks pretty much exactly like this in-game, from what I saw.

Fought the Gallic brothers. Felt like an homage to the WWE. Then I got into a fist fight and burst out laughing when I discovered Bayek does a fucking drop kick as his special move. I hope there's more street fights in addition to this quest. The quest line in Crocodilopolis is my favorite so far. Grim stuff but it all ties together nicely.

I fired up ACO tonight as well, intending on only doing the Sobek fight. Four forts, half a dozen (?) and 3 side quests AND the Sobek fight later I am done for the night I liked this fight more than Anubis, probably because it didn't have stupid hyenas! lol. I will probably get the season pass too, after Christmas. The Gallic brothers is the only arena stuff I've done. I didn't enjoy it I did, however, love the street fight Anyways, so pictures of Sobek:

Thank you but Australia is usually screwed with the pricing, its discounted but still $75 dollars here. I can get it cheaper using Uplay points Just bad timing a few bills have fallen in our lap and I could just buy it but I am trying to do the right thing by our budget

Cool! Does the standard let you access all those trials you folks are doing or is it just the base game? Edit: oh, pc version is not on sale anyway.

Brotherhood: just did the first Romulus Tomb that is a part of the storyline. So far the game is linear, which is fine with me, but I am getting a bit itchy to get a bit more freedom and start climbing viewpoints, etc. I had a good laugh when I saw that 100% synch required 8 min completion. It ran out while I was getting out of the first room in that tomb. I love platforming very much in this game, but I don’t do it fast. Heh.

Cool! Does the standard let you access all those trials you folks are doing or is it just the base game? Edit: oh, pc version is not on sale anyway. It sucks that PC isn't on sale. Are PC versions generally cheaper, or is that my imagination/ignorance? "Trials of the Gods" is a community event open to all. It started the second week of November with Anubis. Now, we have Sobek. I'm not sure how many trials we will have, but each awards a piece of legendary gear unique to the trials. I've read that they will be replaying the trials once they've run their course, in order to allow those that missed one or more to experience them and get the loot. I hope that's true. I'm already an item behind on Save #2. The items aren't needed, but they're fun to collect. I've hit the point with this game that I always hit with lengthy games with character progression. I want to play again, but I want to keep enjoying all of my hard-earned skills and gear. This leads to my usual request: This game needs NG+. It would need to be paired with a feature that levels enemies to Bayek's level, or something similar. (That feature would be welcome, regardless of NG+.) I don't want to give up my flaming sword, war chariots and fancy fighting moves. I don't want to start over from level 1, though I don't mind starting the story from the beginning. These type of games never give us enough time to enjoy the peak of our powers and top quality gear. Only NG+ will do that. HZD eventually received a NG+ mode, so who knows? I'm not sure if the AC: O community is yet clamoring for NG+, but they should be! In addition to a NG+ and an scaling-enemies feature, I'd like to see a "Very Hard" difficulty. Call it "Master" or "Hidden One" or something. I'd love to fire up a NG+ with scaling foes on "Hidden One" difficulty. SofaJockey , thanks for sharing the Horus pic. It looks as cool as I thought. At some point, I'll have to nab that gear. (I do wish he had sandals, but it's a throw-back outfit to ancient times. I'm sure it's thematically tied to the second expansion.) I'm just not sure if it will be a standalone purchase, or if I'll get the Season Pass. We'll see how "The Hidden Ones" expansion goes.

OMG, Steam just threw in an Autumn Sale! Oh, wow, every title on my wishlist is on sale! Which means I am getting AC3 & BF for sure, they are both down to 10$. Rogue I might wait till Christmas, hoping for a better deal. It's only 50%, and so is Syndicate. No way I will get that far anyway before X-mas Element Zero ACO on pc is discounted by 17% so it is 67, 75 and 110$ respectively for the three editions in Canada.

If need be, you can play AC4 BF before playing AC3. They happen in this order chronologically, and it wouldn't be disruptive in terms of story. Naval mechanics debuted in AC3 in a less developed form. Storywise, though, I can't think of any issues that would arise from playing AC4 first, if need be. AC3 and AC4 BF should both be completed before Rogue, due to Rogue building upon the cast and events of those games and completing its storyline. Unity is really fun to start just after Rogue, since the stories are connected. It can be played independently, though, without any confusion. I know you don't yet have AC3 or Rogue. My input is preemptive.

It's shorter and slightly less polished than BF, but the story and characters were very good. It should've been twice as long. They skimped on it because it released alongside Unity. Morrigan, Shay's sloop, is a badass vessel. It's much better than Jackdaw. The North Atlantic is very pretty and makes for a unique backdrop. Most of all, I like Shay, his story and playing as a Templar. I always liked the Colonial Rite. It's cool to see firsthand what happened between Black Flag and AC3, how the respective organizations arrived in their AC3 states. Achilles told a lot of stories in AC3. Living it was much better.

Well if the ship is called Morrigan I will definitely have to play it, the captain's name isn't Isabella is it? Yeah I can't remember why I didn't play it, AC:BF and AC3 are actually my favourites but I may have been neck deep in DAI (1500+ hrs). Maybe I'll do that till I can play ACO. Just started another MEA simply for something to do after going back to DAI and finishing joH and Descent for one of my PT's (Sera romance PT) that I hadn't done the DLC for. So just bought Rogue will download it this afternoon (was 50% off $20).

So, not sure if I am on the right track in Brotherhood, or doing something wrong. Basically, I have been following the storyline, but the fight I tried to pick with Borgia Captain to burn a tower was impossibly hard, and even a fight in the storyline took a few tries, on a ship that had a Madame captive. Ezio misses a whole lot. I bought what armor I could, but swords are pricey or require something called “shop quest”, which is likely another collection thing. Rome so far is the hardest place to get around, really inconvenient, though very pretty. Anyway, got as far as Ezio buying a brothel, and putting his mother and sister to work there, which I imagine makes him the happiest guy in Renaissance Italy, and going to try to figure out what the heck is that I am missing. Am trying to invest in shops, so maybe I can buy more stuff. Got a bit further after this, seems Okay. Not really piling up florins with all the investments, dunno when they will pay off. Still not sure how to increase his health diamonds

I believe weapons from the shops do too, but I can't remember now, I'll try to look later after dinner. I don't think I've used those colors on Ezio before, they look good!

Still not sure how to increase his health diamonds I'm not sure if you completely renovated Monterrigioni in AC2, but it's the path to riches. Same thing for Brotherhood-- investing in those shops is definitely the way to go. I invest as heavily as possible in order to get rich. The shop quest is a scavenger hunt of sorts. You'll find 7 (I think) rare coins across Rome. You can trade the set for that sword. I can't recall any tricks to increasing his health, so it's likely just upgrading armor and story progress. I love Rome. Once you get to know your way around, it's no longer hard to navigate. The central isle (Isola Tiberina I assume, but can't recall for certain) is sort of windy and congested, but it's tiny.

Thanks, folks. Yup, I renovated the villa, but it is a bit more scattered this time around. I also think I got to a point when I will have an easier time wandering around, doing a couple of tombs, and such. The story’s pretty entertaining so far.

Thanks, folks. Yup, I renovated the villa, but it is a bit more scattered this time around. I also think I got to a point when I will have an easier time wandering around, doing a couple of tombs, and such. The story’s pretty entertaining so far. “The liberation of Roma has begun.” I really want to replay this part of the series. The remastered collection got smoked by one reviewer at release, but I later read a scathing counter-review of the original. The original had cherry-picked screenshots and presented a video of bugged mechanics as the “new, remastered” mechanics. Sound like a familiar review tactic? I feel like I still don’t know how good the remastered is.
