I am still playing Syndicate. I just started sequence 7 and did a snippet of WW1 just to get the crafting thing I do miss Bayek. I admit, I might love him a bit........okay, a lot Yes dazk , I was the one who didn't like killing elephants, though I have done one. I might eventually do the others, some day. I absolutely love reading everyones updates in the various AC games they're playing, I like seeing the games through different eyes and their views. Hope everyone is doing well! ETA: I liked the forts.....mostly. Probably cuz I stealthed around and killed the shit out of all those meanies!

I didn't mind it but it is my least favourite AC game. Like Origins the combat is a distraction for me Bayek is great he grows on me more and more mainly because at this late stage the missions he is doing are better and he has more dialogue. Just did a quest for kid name "Esio" (bit of a nod to Ezio maybe) who wanted me to do leaps of faith off famous buildings it was heaps of fun with all the kids running after me In all the games the forts have been my favourite challenge, there have just been too many in Origins. I just completed the Roman Arkropllis fort in Kyrenaika man that took ages, like more than 30 minutes all in stealth

dazk , the Qattara Depression is a pretty inhospitable place, so it’s not packed with content in Origins. The same is true of the deep deserts, which are empty in a couple of cases. Which areas are you thinking to skip? I can at least tell you if there are lots of quests/sites or not. Hey Element Zero will check tomorrow sorry saw this after I logged out. I hate not finishing things so I will probably just keep persevering, I am about 75% complete after todays efforts.

I have a picture of the herd of children too! I loved that quest And this is him taking his pet lion for a walk: This is one from a while back and I just like it And one of him smiling with some kitties, so precious! Yes, I enjoy Syndicate. The combat was okay for me, I like it better than Origins combat anyways though it can get a bit carried away with the combo animations sometimes. I really enjoyed that there was much more First Civ stuff with hints that it was actually going to go somewhere...then with Origins, I was disappointed Maybe more in a dlc or something. I haven't played any today but hopefully more tomorrow.

I liked Evie and Jacob. The Templars’ goals were intelligent and clear. The Isu stuff was okay. I hated what Syndicate did to parkour and combat. I could deal with the combat if I could remove the stupid rope launcher. It can’t be ignored or left unused, because they chose to unrealistically widen the streets in order to implement their carriage-traffic system. Sigh. I went into that game anticipating all of Unity’s strengths with a more intricate story. Instead, it was like 10 steps backward. The handling of Isu content in Origins is one of my only strong disappointments. There is a lot of great stuff in the game, but Bayek seems completely unmoved by it. He almost never comments on the incredible things he uncovers, and the crazy Tony Stark Isu gear looks and feels totally out of place. Something like that should elicit fear from nearly everyone. Of course, we can ride flaming, skeletal steeds in this game, so... My familiarity with the setting gives me strong suspicions as to the historical events we can expect in The Hidden Ones. Whether the Isu issue gets addressed, who can say? We know there are Isu sites on the Sinai Peninsula, so I’m sure we will explore some. Maybe this is when and where the Assassins begin to grasp the great importance of the Isu. They’re the entire reason the Order of the Ancients was created, after all; and the reason the war never ends.

Yeah the Isu stuff I absolutely love but yes it has been underdone in the games since Black Flag. I too was struck with Bayek's acceptance of what he was seeing but also his lack of any sort of reaction. I thought he'd be WTF I really hope they provide much more content re how this game leads to the Assassin order and the Isu story. As an afterthought man wasn't that Isu thing you hear about time and nodes and time just being maths so futures can be calculated manipulated out there??? Or maybe that was just me not understanding?????

Yeah, I forgot to express how much I liked the pics. The kids in ACO are really well done. They make me laugh, make me sad, and are surprisingly well acted. Kids play some important roles in ACO, and I always enjoy them. There are so many good scenes with the little rascals. (Not Buckwheat and friends!)

dazk , it is pretty sci-fi. It harkens back to the original intentions of the series, though. Nolan North gave some illuminating revelations in regard to the story’s originally intended path. Listen to him for about two minutes and your head will spin. It’s linked in this Reddit thread and cued to the right moment. The AC stuff begins at 34:06 Patrice Desilet’s departure, along with Ubi’s desire to milk the IP, ruined the overarching story. AC4 actually handled the Isu brilliantly. Their Observatory is the carrot that keeps Edward and the Templars chasing. It’s a cool, legitimately dangerous thing. They introduced Sages, which led to cool possibilities. The Isu “Mayan Armor” was even cool. It looked like something one would find in an old crypt, but was made of Isu synthetic materials. Its design is as good as ACO’s Isu Armor design is bad.

Hi Element Zero the link was just to a .jpg but I found the video. Wow if that was what the rue story line was going to be that'd have been so cool, I watched a few videos too of the current day stuff for Syndicate and was surprised how much I had forgotten.

I watched part of video with Nolan once where he talked about how good a character Desmond was to play and how interesting the story was and then he said they kind of lost their way with it. I agree. I really want to see more First Civ stuff and was curious to see where they were going to go with Juno/Minerva and the reborn sages. But it seems like they've flip flopped around so much they don't even know where they were going with it anymore, which to me is very sad. /end lament

I somehow linked my Chris Hanson Talimance opinion-pic instead of the Reddit thread. I’ll try to fix that. The story Nolan describes might’ve sounded sort of weird; but the new Isu angle adds weight and puts context to it.

I am still hopeful even though I am 75% through for a bit more first civ info. Be good if it were relevant to Minerva/Juno but seems like they are specifically back-filling to make sense of Bayek and the start of the Order of Assassins.

I have seen it in other peoples as well as mine and I just deleted them in my post above and it was a huge number of characters????? Not sure. The next time you see it, tag Yummy, our resident archmage of tech. Ubisoft updated the January ACO calendar. There’s a lot of new stuff on the way this month. * Anubis returns tomorrow, January 9. Sobek returns January 23. We can start working toward our Golden Sets, if speculation proves true. * Two new item packs arrive this month. Meh. They are the “For Honor” pack and the “Almighty” pack. * The “First Civ” and “Nightmare” items will finally be dropping in Reda’s chests. There were unforeseen technical challenges that slowed their addition. * A new quest connected to The Hidden Ones will be added for all. * A “For Honor” outfit will be added to the Club Rewards. Harlequin and Chop-Chop, previously locked, will now be accessible. (Don’t do it! They’re icky purple rares! ) * The Hidden Ones Trophies are now listed on PSN. This implies an imminent release. Maybe it will be earlier this month than expected. Link: assassinscreed.ubisoft.com/game/en-us/news/152-317052-16/this-month-in-assassins-creed®-origins-january

Update on the current Trials of the Gods (starting January 9, 2017)
* First, the rules are important. They weren’t clearly explained, initially. You can only earn up to three items per cycle. This means one from each deity. You can earn the fourth and final piece of a set only by participating across two TotG cycles. I think that’s pretty annoying, but meh. It would be nice if the entire set could be earned each cycle.
* The current trial does not award items from the Golden Anubis Set. It strictly awards the standard Anubis gear.
This means the following:
* If you have a save with a partial set, you can round out your set and get the “Dark Side of the Moon” outfit during this cycle. (This was true of my Save#3. I got “Scales of Judgment” and DSotM this morning.
* The Golden Set is likely to be awarded via community challenges; and not via TotG alone. This was true of the first item, Sunslayer.
* If you have a save in which you already own the complete Anubis Set, defeating the deities in the current cycle awards only XP and drachmae. (This is my Save#1 situation.)
I was hoping the update would be released today, but I guess we have to wait at least another week. That means they get extra time to build fixes into this update, I guess. It makes me think that next week will be the update, including the new quest with ties to THO DLC that everyone gets. Then, January 23 would be the likely DLC date. That’s the date I’d long expected, so I guess no big surprise.
I thought they might put one of the two new item packs in the store today. I don’t buy them, but I do look over those stats and images. Nothing new, though.

I m a g e f v d When I have some time later I'll try and find it in a post, I have seen it in the large PM as well. I have also noticed the scroll bar come up as well.

dazk , I see them regularly in the PM. They often say “I FRAME”, if I remember correctly. I imagine the expanded box (totally ignorant of the proper terms) and resulting scroll bar are a symptom of the expanded text/pic-FAIL. If you have a post that can be linked, we can tag HowYummy. Alternatively, we can create a thread in the Forum Suggestions subforum, again tagging HowYummy. Proboards is pretty barebones. She created all of the custom browser themes; most of the advanced functionality; and generally made this place 1000x better. She’ll figure it out if she’s made aware.

dazk , I see them regularly in the PM. Yeah I remember the iframe bit if you start deleting at the top a stream of letters replaces what you delete and then numbers. I went through multiple pages this morning and couldn't find an example but the next time it happens I'll tag HowYummy in a response to it. Element Zero only have the three bottom sections of the map to go before going to pick back up with Cleopatra going to meet Caesar. I am hoping that the three bottom sections are as sparse as The Qattar Depression

I assume you’re referring to the Desheret, White Desert and those western Sand Wastes (I can’t recall the in-game term. It should be The Dune Sea.) There is exactly one thing to do in those areas.

Yep was pleasantly surprised but only did the Desheret (the one with the big Isu tomb that looked like the Builders Chasm on Havarl) and I went back and cleaned up MORE icons I found that I had missed and a couple of extra legs of quests I didn't realise had generated!!!!!
