Does anyone know what the 23/30 (example) means over each area? What does that mean I need to complete? I'm 99% completion and now I'm set on getting 100% I would think that would mean you are 23/30 quests/events to be done in that area. That's a good thing for me to check, I've been stuck at 99% for forever! Edit: So I just started up the game thinking I'd missed some counting thing they'd implemented, but I think the numbers you are seeing are the zone levels. Sorry!

Finished the main story and the hidden one continuation. Very bittersweet ending, it has been quite some time since i liked a AC that much. Since when Desmond and Ezio were the protagonists. I kind of understand why they couldn't be together at that point having to mount Hidden Ones centers across continents during a time when a journey between them would take weeks or months from ship sailing and horseback riding: she in Rome and he in Egypt, at that period they were pretty much worlds apart. And add all the lives of many weighting on their backs since The Ancient Ones were pretty much a endless army of scum always trying to get riches, glory, power etcetera at the cost of countless human lives. Besides they never trully recovered from the loss of their son. Bayek throws himself at his revenge quest and Aya at her blind loyaty to Cleopatra and by the end revenge doesn't really fix things and Cleopatra is just like her brother but smarter. edit: that being said i do believe they still miss each other a lot from that hug with heads bumping they did at the end of Hidden One DLC.

Can you post a screenshot? Number, shield symbol, then number. I'm sure this is in every Asscreed game, but I'm not clear on what it means. So are you talking about the white numbers for example in Khensu Nome where it says 13 <> 15 or Iment Nome where it says 6 <> 8? If so as Kaidan Fan said they are the level recommendations for doing the missions in those areas. I can't see any other numbers.

I’m sitting here without internet service in my new home. There’s apparently some confusing wiring issue between my location and the lines off the property. I hope they figure it out and restore my service before I miss the community challenge. I’ve been wanting the Sword of the Duat for months. Now that it’s here, I might miss it. ☹️
Apparently, this upcoming patch is a big timer. It’s both large and significant. A bit of new content is added in advance of CotP. Ugh. Get my service working, fools!

I just logged on, intending to download and play at least a bit. I find that “the PSN is undergoing maintenance”. Riiiight, it’s maintenance day on Tuesday, middle of the day EST. I hope this is just mundane FAIL and not a cyberattack. I feel like no one can keep our data safe. I guess I’ll do “housework” instead. 🙄
EDIT: Apparently, some users have had issues since Update 5.50 was implemented. I’m reading speculation that 5.50 is not going well on this first PSN Tuesday since it’s inplementation. As to housework? Pffft. Too much pain. I’ll sit on my butt and read.

Nope, I’m a peasant. I’m glad you didn’t realize it, though. I mean... Good news is that the PSN was quickly restored. Sony is pretty good about this, in my experience. I’m going to download now. I’m glad I have pretty fast download speeds. 15GB is a decent size.

I’m taking a momentary break from ACO and thought I’d share some thoughts on CotP.
I booted up to play CotP, but spent an hour riding around for Reda and killing Anubis and Sobek (TotG). I was worrrued I’d miss a trial w/o internet service last week. Instead, I’ve acquired to Crimson (?) Anubis items in two days. Yesterday was the Sword of the Duat; today was Sekhem, a scepter (I don’t use scepters).
I arrived in Thebes by way of a caravan driver in Siwa. I killed a shadow immediately, but haven’t had much luck since. They appear far from me and time out before I can kill them. They’re extremely hit-spongy, even against Level 45 weapons. I did get killled by the big dude with the hammer. That was cool, since I never get killed. He grabbed Bayek by the ankle and slammed his head into the pavement. 😖 Rough. I’ve already decided that I’ll only attack shadows near my location. I’ll not chase timed enemies who just waste my time and resources. I hope we get weapons (in Aaru, maybe?) that can harm them more quickly as the story progresses.
I like the story and NPCs okay so far. There’s been a humorous level of bewbage. Bewbs everywhere! Topless generics and flamboyant named NPCs are flaunting their bewbs. It has to be pretty noticeable to get my attention. 😆 I suspect that CotP will be better than THO, but I’m justly barely started, so it’s hard to say. We shall see. I want to explore the town a bit, but the narrative seems to want to drive me forward.

There were beaches where there were heaps of topless women and some villages like 50% of the women were topless!!!! I am guessing it is random cause my brother in-law who plays on X-Box didn't seem to have near the same amount of topless women that I did on PC. Hey I am going to play some Hidden Ones today, any tips Element Zero ?

Hey I am going to play some Hidden Ones today, any tips Element Zero ? No, I saw those ladies all the time. It was just background scenery. This is a conscious design choice with named NPCs. You’ll see. For THO? You can visit the areas mostly in the order presented. If you explore like I do, you’ll end up backtracking a lot. In CotP, I’m in the first “Afterlife” area I found. I’m clearly not supposed to be here, as everything is at least four levels too high. I’ve only had to run from giant scorpions that were so high-level that they just had red skulls. I was just beating the ass of a guard captain who had the same. He was nearly dead when he one-shotted me. Ah, well. That’s to be expected. I’m stopping to hang with my wife for a bit. I still am not sure how a Piece if Eden can explain all of this, but I’m barely at the beginning. I’m sure it will offer some explanation, good or weak. It’s fun, though, definitely. It’s way larger, better written and more polished than THO.

It says its downloading at 4.3 MB/s but it lies it has downloaded 20GB and says its going to be another 1hr40m to do another 25GB So may have to play AC:O THO tomorrow I haven't bought Curse yet as it's $29-95 AUD but hopefully in the next week.

That will give them time to patch it, anyway. I’ve had two crashes in the few hours I’ve played it. The last was pretty frustrating. I know I’m choosing to continue against over-leveled foes (leveling in AC is stupid), but I’m owning these bitches. Then, crazy crash to black. I thought I was going to have to do a manual shutdown if my PS4Pro. 🤨
There’s some cool stuff here, but I probably need to leave and return when I’m higher level. I’ve found a coupe of new legendaries that I won’t be able to use for another 5 levels. Ugh! 🙄 Edit: Pfft. Wimp-talk, that. I stuck it out, gainer 1 level and now I’m getting payback! (Further proof that the leveling itself is stupid. 46 was too low, but 47 is fine?)
I just upgraded my bracers and chestpiece one level each. The stupid cat head is no more, and the archer’s bracer is now in the correct arm! Sadly, the new chest clips through THO Outfut. Damn it, Ubisoft. There’s no way that went unnoticed. With the newer gear, I’ll switch back to my old favorite— the Protectir Outfit. The new gear looks 100x better than THO stuff, but not as good as the top tier upgrades from the base game. That’s sad, really.
Raided a scorpion lair with my new level 47 Bayek. Pretty badass up close.

It's funny I am normally really concerned with outfits etc but none have really grabbed me except the ones I'd have to buy.

I’m not sure. I beat it and never replayed it. The story concept was good, but its execution superficial. The region was difficult to navigate and forgettable. CotP I’m enjoying. It’s a much prettier place, Upper Egypt, as opposed to the desert plateau of the Sinai. I think I know how the PoE is doing what it’s doing, but we’ll see. I still have a ton of stuff to see. I am super sleepy, as I played too late last night. I hope this post was coherent. I’m going to nap.

I'm liking the DLC so far. It's definitely challenging. You gotta take care of those shadow enemies fast or they disappear again. Honestly, I might need a break. I have 150 hours in this game and a lot of it really is the same design. I spent all last week grinding and completing all the arena enemies. Story so far is more intriguing than the last DLC.

I've been playing CotP today and I had a few questions, I'll spoiler them just in case. But if someone knows the answers I would appreciate it. If I finish a tomb, will the shadow of that particular pharaoh stop spawning in the world?
If I kill all the shadows is there a special reward for that? That's all for now, hope everyone is enjoying it I'll check back in a bit! Thanks

If I kill all the shadows is there a special reward for that? That's all for now, hope everyone is enjoying it I'll check back in a bit! Thanks I "platinumed" CotP earlier today, so I thought I'd share some spoiler-free opinions. I'll start with these questions. Yes, defeating a pharaoh in the afterlife will eliminate that particular pharaoh's intrusions into the world.
There's no reward for killing shadows, beyond XP and shards, both if which are abundant regardless. Obviously, there is one or more rewards for defeating each pharaoh in person in the afterlife. First, this DLC is good. The production values, writing, pretty much everything is head and shoulders above The Hidden Ones. It's very much on par with the best segments of the main game. In some ways, it felt like CotP was the fantasy game they'd actually wanted to make all along. That doesn't mean there aren't some minor complaints, but they are nothing that can't be addressed via patches or that aren't simply part of playing ACO. First, in order to get them out of the way, a few gripes. * When I first fired up the game, I found myself getting annoyed by things that didn't bother me in the main game. I was tired of hearing the same 5 lines of pseudo-Egyptian gibberish. I didn't feel like traveling around the world. I was not interested in fighting. All of these things faded away quickly. As soon as the story got going, and new enemies and equipment started appearing, I was back in the groove. After I first entrered the afterlife, I was completely hooked. I think this was simply ACO-fatigue. * The lighting is a bit iffy. The sunlight looks distorted. I'm not sure if it's buggy, or if it's part of the curse. Essentially, the sunlight around Thebes matches the weird light in some sections of the afterlife. It's weird and slightly annoying. It probably could've been cool, but the odd lighting messed with shadows and colors, making much of Bayek's character and equipment textures look washed out and unfinished. It looked moderately better this morning. I'm not sure if that's because I'd lifted the curse, or because of patch 1.41. * I had issues with sound cutting in and out. Patch 1.41 listed thus as a fix, so hopefully it's resolved. They've been good with ongoing support. * The new equipment upgrades (bracers, chest, quiver, etc...) are a huge improvement over THO gear. That said, the chest piece clips through THO Oufit, which is the primary outfit of many players. Seriously, Ubisoft? I hope they devote the resources to fixing this, even if it means redoing THO Outfit. It's too iconic to leave in this state. That outfit is Bayek's "legacy outfit". Maybe thus should go here: some of the new equipment looks half-assed. It is mostly great; but a couple of pieces look virtually untextured, or very amateur. Specifically, the new "best shield" in the game. It's so crappy that I stick with Tomb Guardian and the Shield of Aaru. Okay, now for the good. * The story is really enjoyable. It often feels like a really good fantasy game. I wondered how tightly tied to the true AC universe it was going to be after playing about a third of it. It ended up tying the fantasy elements into reality very well, in opinion. If anyone is on the fence because of the fantasy nature, I'd encourage you to give it a chance. It's firmly rooted in the Pieces of Eden and actual Egyptian history, despite featuring some really crazy (and awesome) fantasy and mythology. * The new gear-- weapons, outfits and mount-- are really cool and effective. I've been a critic of the fantasy stuff in this game, and I still feel that way. I prefer realistic looking gear. That said, this new stuff fits the insanity of this story very well. Fighting godlike undead pharaohs? Well, godlike weapons are the right tools for that job. I do think the undead makeover of many outfits was a bit overused; but those outfits do look awesome, so I guess it's a wash. (I'm taking about new and old outfits, collectively.) It was fun to finally dress in Anubis, Horus and Pharaoh gear and feel totally at home. (They should just go ahead and make an Egyptian mythological game. It's obvious that they have tons of great ideas.) * New Skills! These new skills are fuggin awesome. They seem like minor upgrades, perhaps, until you use them in-game. I went for the super useful melee skills first, since I was fighting those damn shadows. When I finally got to using the ranged upgrades, though, wow! Bows are even more deadly than before. There is only one skill specific to the afterlife, and it's an awesome, passive perk. The rest are skills you'll use throughout the world (NG+ anyone?). * I've probably already made this clear, but the realms of the afterlife are incredibly well done. They're beautiful, tragic, amazing-- it just depends where you go. I'll not spoil anything specific. Visiting these places made me really want to play a full game visiting these mythological places. * Quests: there are some really good ones, especially in the afterlife. * Bayek is the same dude we know, but there were at least three moments in which I felt he got some well deserved development, support, comfort, etc... If this is the only game we get with him, he's already right at the top of my list alongside Ezio. (Nothing in this DLC suggested to me that this is the end for him. I'm just talking.) Okay, tips? * Don't feel pressured to chase down every shadow that appears. I quit pursuing them after the third one, and it made the experience much better. You will get plenty of materials whether you fight them or not. It's cool to save people if the shadow is nearby. Still, until the curse is lifted, these things will keep coming. Don't waste time rushing to fight an enemy that will only persist for a limited time. My general approach was to fight any within 200m and/or any along my current path. Otherwise, I just let the Ptolemaic guard fail deal with it. * Progress the story. If you watch the "suggested level" for missions, and approach them roughly in that order, things will flow well. I mostly did this just by chance, only venturing off the rails a few times. I am glad that I explored the final afterlife section before the story took me there, since it let me explore at my leisure. Overall, though, it flows well on script. * Do the side quests. There are cool NPCs and great loot to be had via side activities. * Get the trophies/achievements. They're easy, and will lead you to a few things you may not have discovered without those carrots dangling before you. I'm very pleased with this DLC. It's long, probably in the 15-20 hour mark, I guess. (This is so subjective, but I'd say that's a fair estimate.) All of the bonus content for months has told me that they felt a bit handcuffed by historical Egypt, in terms of creativity and design. They seemed to have tons of ideas centered on fantasy and mythological elements. The good news is that they killed it when it came time to build an expansion upon those ideas. They really brought the mythology to life, while still tying it to the "real world" AC history. People always said that AC4 BF felt like a great pirate game that just happened to be AC. I never agreed, given the Sage, the Observatory, the Templar Hunts, etc.. Still, I had that feeling about this DLC during the first 30%-- This is an awesome Egyptian fantasy game that happens to be AC. To my surprise, they tied it all together and made it both a great fantasy game and a great AC game. Some of the content in this expansion satisfied my itch for truly "ancient Egypt" AC stories. I cant decide whether I'm ready for a NG+. If I got to keep exploring the afterlife, battling fantasy foes, etc... Hell yeah! As it is, though, I logged a ton of hours on the base game since release, and kind of have a MEA itch. I will absolutely revisit this game via NG+; I'm just not sure I'm ready at the moment. I'm on a mobile, and starting to get buggy site performance, so that probably means this post is getting long. If I had to rate this "Buy" or "Skip", I'd give it a definite "Buy". I have had a really good time with it. I eagerly await Ubisoft's Ancient Egyptian fantasy game, since it's obvious that they really want to make one. Apologies for typos, many of which are autocorrect actively sabotaging me, changing words, adding articles. 🙄 I always have to go back and clean up my posts. It's just part of the BSN experience while on mobile.

The afterlife realms are stunning, no question. This game represents a high bar for level design imo. I found the first realm just exploring and I have to say it was a special moment. The way I went from one to the other was really cool. It felt like I was playing some surreal fantasy game, not AC, and I mean that in a good way. But fuck the shadow enemies. Playing on hard and I just can't kill them before they vanish.

Playing on hard and I just can't kill them before they vanish. I had the same issue with Shadows early in the DLC. After a few levels, they got easier. I play with auto-scaling, too, but they definitely got easier. I’m sure the new skills helped. Once I started getting the new, powerful weapons I started shredding them. The early going with those guys was a resource-draining grind.
