I collected all the flags and feathers...he doesn't think I'm awesome?!
Also, I don't want over the top combat. I liked AC combat AND out of spite, I hope they NEVER make a game set in feudal Japan

The afterlife is something else. One of the prettiest areas I've seen in a game. I have a picture almost exactly like this as my desktop. I'll see if I can find it later

Collectibles are too much trouble in Ubisoft games. If only some of them, like the feathers, were half or one third, I’d find some energy to bother myself with them.

I actually am not a big fan of collectibles in Ubisoft quantities, at least. Oddly, I did clear Unity 100% twice. I played CoOp with Unity. Between SP and MP, I spent a ton of time in Paris. The map-clearing just happened naturally. Origins cut back on the collectibles, but then made the game so damn huge. I feel like it peaks in the middle. By the time I reach Kyrenaika, I’m ready for it to end. The CotP DLC was pretty good. I think they ought to just make a fantasy IP, rather than polluting AC with the more nonsensical stuff. The site is nearly impossible to use on a mobile device, at this point. What happened? Ugh. If my post is riddled with typos or worse, it’s because I can’t even see the screen.

So, some think the voice acting for Alexios is terrible. I think it's kinda charming, as if he were in a theatrical play. Still gonna go with Kassandra.

Yeah Collectibles are not something I NEED to do but I always found the challenge of some of them great fun and they made you cover more ground and discover stuff. What I really hated was those damn underground tunnels in AC3 in Boston and NY. The site had an update a while ago Element Zero and the themes changed, is it something to do with that?

dazk the picture is from CotP DLC. It's fun, but as Element Zero has said, it's very much fantasy. slimgrin727 I like both their voices well enough. I'll reserve final judgement until I actually play the game myself. It may be that Ubi just weren't used to directing voices for branching dialogue in an AC game? I dunno. Okay, so I'm a woman, but.......I'm going to play as Alexios first. I think he sometimes reminds me of Ezio and maybe that's why I'm leaning towards him. I love Ezio. Did some of the smileys go away?

Its funny I nearly always play more as a female character than a male, in MEA I played 11 Sara's and 5 Scott's. Re smileys, I thought they'd actually added some???

CotP is actually some of the best of the game, as much as that annoys me. I'd buy a full fantasy game like that on day one. I'd definitely be much more excited for that game than for Odyssey. They do tie the events into a PoE, and Bayek realizes what's actually happening. It doesn't diminish the impact of the events, though. I'm actually trying to motivate myself to play AC Origins or No Man's Sky, at present. I'd prefer to just play CotP, and may simply take my NG+ Bayek directly to Thebes. I'm excited for Spider-Man, actually. Worst case, it's a "Spidey's Creed" in Manhattan. I suspect it will be way better than that. Sony exclusives aware nearly always great productions. I just tried the Theme change. Thanks for the recommendation. I still can't browse on my phone, but it was worth a try. I've never been able to read posts on the mobile site, so I always use the desktop site on my tablet and phone. It is no longer doable on my phone; so I guess I'm now limited to BSN-ing on my iPad. Meh. That won't do anything to increase my time on BSN. I need a good game to get me reengaged. Maybe Spider-Man will do it? DOS2 is also hitting PS4 very soon. I'll likely play that, sooner or later. I usually split 50/50 if given the option of each gender. I hated Sara Ryder's voice and acting (sorry, Fryda), but still managed about 50/50. I originally played FemShep heavily. Changes to the CC throughout the trilogy whitewashed my FemShep. Then, Hale delivered some creeper moments in ME2 and 3. By ME3, I felt she was totally over-acting. Meanwhile, Meers had gone from good in ME1 to phenomenal in ME3. Sheploo is Shepard to me, now. Always will be. I don't like either protagonist for Odyssey very much, based upon what we've seen. I like Alexios' voice better, but have an irrational hatred of his terrible hair. Kassandra looks cool, but seems to use the same rig as Alexios, meaning that she'll walk like a dude all the time. I hope I'm wrong about the rig. That was another strike against FemShep in ME2. Ugh. It's just jarringly weird to see.

Re CoTP I'll check out the price based on your comments as I'd like to see the PoE stuff but I hope the combat isn't like the Trials, man I sucked at those and never finished one, no patience. With Shepard I had no real preference except in regards to LI's, MShep got more of a run from that perspective especially in ME3. I am having trouble remembering the walk but it couldn't be worse than DAI.

Probably the strangest request for an Assassin's Creed game I can think of is something set in the Medieval Period. I know there was the first Assassin's Creed which took place in the Crusades, but I'm thinking proper Dark Age Europe. Actually, have it be in Sherwood Forest, making our character the unintentional inspiration for Robin Hood.

The first game was over a decade ago, and they're now much better at building worlds. I'd love to see another medieval game. As much as I appreciate and actively study (amateurly) history from around the world, I still feel that medieval and Renaissance Europe are the most appealing settings for me.

AC Black Flag is my favourite AC game and I played it three times but when I went back to it again a year and a half ago I only got half way through and stopped. It just didn't engage me plus the whole I knew how it ended etc..... That being said not sure where you are in Origins but it took me 120hrs to play it in total and I was pretty over the repetition by about two thirds through. The main missions were good but the repetitive nature of the forts wore me down. It is a beautiful game however and I enjoyed it but the combat I struggled with.

Even among the older games there are innovations, like the personas in Liberation and the rope launcher in Syndicate, which is my favorite for now (Steampunk aesthetic ftw)
It isn't like the Tomb Raider franchise, where the old stuff didn't age well and pale in comparison with the reboot.

I get what you're saying. Each game definitely has something unique within it in terms of a mechanic or tone. The problem I have though is that I actually like the RPG mechanics of Origins better than the previous games which had a more fluid/automatic system that's mostly counter-kills. Syndicate I liked but didn't liked at the same time. While exploring Victorian London is pretty cool and the rope launcher is nifty, I didn't like the combat in the game and parkouring across london proved to be a lot harder than it needed to be (for me at least).

I liked the earlier combat better but that's partly cause I suck at combat that requires me to be a keyboard contortionist. I totally agree with you Syndicate comments, for me it was the worst of the games in many ways.

I know at first I said I would like to see an AC game that explores Medieval Europe and possibly explore a Robin Hood like storyline, but I have a feeling the next logical step for Assassin's Creed based on the current combat systems and whatnot would be Ancient Rome or maybe Feudal Japan. The point is, there are a lot of historical periods the franchise could go to. Hell, if Odyssey can take place before the Assassin Brotherhood even existed, maybe the game could go even further to Mesopatamia and follow up on the lore's first ever assassination.
