Only nitpick I have really so far is wolves need to not wander into populated zones. I think I've had a few npcs I was on my way to talk to get murdered and breaks the quest. Also its hilarious when I'm fighting a merc around people and I dont hit them yet they aggro to me fighting and start trying to punch me or grap a nearby weapon and assault me, rude In a similar vein, I have an issue with the fact I can one hit an Ibexes in one zone but cross an imaginary white line and they are un killable. I have also experienced Wolves killing NPC's after I have just rescued them but not before I have gotten to a quest NPC.

Just bought Odyssey. Can someone explain what the Blind King bonus mission is that came with the game? Where are you in the game, you meet a blind NPC in Megaris called Ataxerxes who you can talk to and then come back and tell him about certain things (like the Zeus lightning statue in Kephallonia) all over Greece to get rewards. I am 100% guessing but I am assuming that he has something to do with it as he is blind and because of his name.
I'm at level 5 touring the island I started on. Just killed the mercenary. What's funny is I spartan kicked him down the hill watching his health drop. He ran back up the hill for me to finish him. I did the plague quest. I let the priest kill the family. What's interesting is that when a choice like that pops up, it has the red marker indicating the choice that isn't the best. To answer the question. No, I haven't come in contact with a blind character.

You'll find him at a temple when you travel to Megaris by ship. Not sure if you read it but I posted before that I cheesed a high level mercenary, I was at the top of a watch tower and he climbed up after me, as he got to the top of the ladder I hit him with my sword and he fell and lost 75% of his health. EDIT: I find the spartan kick fun but also useful for fighting multiple guys it at least takes one guy out of the action as they get knocked down for a few seconds.

I haven’t been using the Kick, yet. There are too many good skills to use at low levels. I noticed that we eventually get a second page (?) on the power wheel. Maybe this happens at level 30? I’m not sure how that will work on a controller, but we’ll see. I wish assassination skills didn’t take up space on the melee wheel. They are used in very different circumstances.

I got the game since I'm getting quite fedup with Pathfinder Kingmaker and I'm in the mood for real time some fights or rather key mushing. Chose Kassandra and started off leisurely; I'm not going run all over trying to grab everything and get everything done all at once. There's no timer. I guess this game will take me weeks to finish. Had a bit of confusion with dismounting from the horse, the key binding didn't even list it and if the tutorial mentioned it, I missed it. I liked that the horse auto speed up once he's in stride. Back story is nothing new though it's missing bits, I supposed it'll be revealed later. Kassandra being taken in is also rather shallow / empty, no proper build up; just some guy walking along the beach picking up strays. yay.

I have to go away for 10 days at the end of next week, had hoped to finish before then but it just isn't going to happen. The dismount confused me to, I can't even remember what it was now as I never use the horse unless I have to, too many crafting materials to gather and random things to fight.

I don't want to pick up too much busy work so I'm going to make sure I keep the list short. Nor am I going out of my way to do that 20 something kill wolves or whatever blah blah blah.

This isn't the first game to make me go; NPC said that when you met them. Why are you asking the same stupid question again? Why can't it be phrased in another way, eliciting more meaningful info? *shrug*
Too, I find the combat moves not so responsive. When I try for a kick, I expect a kick, not the protag standing there like a dummy.

Element Zero saandrig and Obsidian Gryphon what skills are you using atm? I have the zoom for aim and extra damage Poisoned weapons, Leonidas Spear, Spartan Kick and 25% Health refill.

Few hours in on nightmare difficulty and exploration mode. I do find exploration less predictable here than in Origins for some reason. Egypt was more unique but Greece is an incredibly welcoming place to roam around in. There's almost an Oblivion atmosphere to it. The game looks stunning but I do wish night was darker. Combat is much more fluid than I expected. It lacks the visceral quality of Origins though. Some of that is sound design I think. Is anyone else stealing? I can't figure out whether I want to play as an honest mercenary or ruthless rogue, and chances are I don't really need the extra loot. Speaking of which, the loot icon is hard as hell to notice in a lot of areas. Very annoying.

For those who have played Origins and are currently playing odyssey. If you had to choose between the two, which one would it be? Just curious since I will get one of them tomorrow when the store opens. In my humble opinion I would say Origins, Odyssey starts to feel a bit like a grind after the first 20 hrs.

I just respecced again, having raised the spear from level 1 to 3. I won’t be able to remember most of the proper names for the skills. 😣 Ranged: Devastating Shot 2, Multishot 2, “Area Shot” 1 or 2 Melee/Stealth: Rage of Ares? (upper-most melee skill), Shield Break 2, Healing 1 or 2, Teleporting Assassination 2 Of course I have a bunch of passives as well. The damage boosters are maxed, as is the armor passive. I have Arrow Master 3, or whatever it’s called. (It allows you to craft the various types of arrows.) Once I get that second melee wheel, I’ll grab those elemental weapon skills. I have Overpower 2, which might be the most important melee skill in the game. Unleashing Overpower grants heavy offense and temporary immunity.

Spartan kick, Bull rush, Weapons master, Shield breaker, Stealth master, Critical assassination, Devastating shot. ***** I find the dialogues could be better and more structure to back story. So far I encountered one romance option, if it can be called romance, and it's shallow. Didn't go for it since I'm not interested, I know nothing about the char. The devs still have a long way to go before they can even write chars like Bioware did.

I romanced Odessa and I am guessing that's the one you were talking about, yeah its pretty shallow but I didn't mind it. I'd call it a fling more than a romance and the main benefit is I got to recruit her to the ship as a Lieutenant and she's pretty handy in combat.

Man, do the bows do some serious work; especially when your stealthy. Granted, I'm on easy but still. Once you get the zoom perk it helps a lot. I am finding its almost impossible to stealth just using the bow. I took down a fort today using the bow 3 times and the rest were assassinations from cover or using Leonidas spear ability.

I was exploring, minding my own business and came upon a small camp with a name. The moment I came into view, they started attacking. It was nuts. One of the women has a special name so I guess maybe she's part of a quest I may have taken up. Maybe the one about bandits. Then I ran to open a new location and its says gymnasium. Then the big guy attacked me and his pals joined in. Ok, whatever. After that, it was another bunch called the cultists. In the midst of this, the fight went over to a stall and an old lady started attacking. I killed her. Well what was I supposed to do? There were still baddies running in to melee.

slimgrin727 , I chumped out on Nightmare. I even dumped it down to Normal for a while. I just wasn't feeling the combat and thought, "I'm going to burn out 40% through this long ass game". I also turned off Exploration mode because of the same concern that I'd not finish the game before burnout. If I replay it, I'll need to do it the right way with Nightmare/Exploration. It's not quite the same having completed it once before, but meh. I'm still worried about finishing it once. I definitely steal quite a bit. I leave no chests unpillaged. I try to steal while no one is looking, but occasionally I gotta just do it, regardless. The people getting pissed makes it humorous. dazk and Obsidian Gryphon , the "romances" are all cheesy as hell. It's less romance and more hamfisted come-ons and one night stands. I did have Alexios bang an old chick and got paid, afterward. Hilarious. (Completing at least one awkward encounter will bet you the trophy/achievement, if that's something you do. I like getting them, myself. A few always make me try something bonkers that I'd otherwise not have tried.) In general, I'm finding the protagonist pretty dry. He's okay, but not that good. The NPCs are pretty average for AC, but none yet have stood out as good. The dialogue options aren't really all that meaningful in the vast majority of cases. It's a lot like MEA, giving us two flavors of the same statement, leading to the same outcome regardless of what is said. I suspect that the major decision points will really amount to a half-dozen or so. If they want to continue on this RPG route, they need much better character writers. Are you guys sure it's a bug you're encountering? There are a lot of protected/restricted zones. If you don't use Ikaros to scout ahead, it's easy to stumble into one. Some of them have a yellow warning zone around them before going full red (referring to the HUD/compass color-coding). Commoners aren't afraid in this game. If they see you fighting the ruling army, or committing a crime, they're not unlikely to grab a makeshift weapon and attack. I've had to kill a few from time to time. I'm having some fun with the game, at least. I played nearly all day today. I briefly set foot in Attica, but immediately backtracked to close out a timed quest. I knew I was about to quit for the night, and I wanted a fast travel point close to Attica (which I've not explored at all.) I ended up choosing a nearby location that allowed me to continue hunting down cultists, I'm enjoying that thread, simple as it's been so far, and it brings concrete rewards. I'll likely continue on that path for a number of hours, yet. Don't worry my NPC homie who shall go unnamed. I'll get to Athens eventually. dazk , what's up with the uber-long, empty space in your post? It takes me 10 seconds to scroll past it! 😆

Element Zero, I was thinking they're safe and it turned out they're not. I guess I have to use Ikaros to open up the unknown locations than to walk straight in. Echoing Element Zero, dazk, that's a lot of space to roll through.

slimgrin727 , I chumped out on Nightmare. 😆 No idea sorry, I didn't intentionally do it re the long post and it wont let me edit it. I enjoyed the game a lot more today just roaming around doing quests and taking down a fort and lots of camps. You need to let me know re the old woman romance, if it helps with an achievement. I am not sure its a bug but it is a stupid mechanic having civilians join in. I remembered that its just out of the main city in Megaris it happened to me. The port one I told you about earlier may have been a bug though that was just weird. I was over 100m away and completely out of sight and the fort just emptied and came after me.
