I must mentioned the four points that often rile players but are eliminated in this game. The ability to loot on horseback. No loot animation. The speed of the horse. Look ma, no "contrails" *cough* DAI *cough* I like it that it auto trot when entering a village / city / passing a fort. Easily climb everywhere.

I was able to loot from horseback today, some Iron was almost by accident. I just hit E out of reflex when I was near it don't think I got a prompt.

So, I didn't know which character I wanted, so I played a bit with both, and I finally took Alexios. Just because I thought his facial animations were more expressive. For what I'm going to roleplay, it it quite necessary.

I am enjoying the combat more and more after hitting level 30 and having so much skills to try and use. The game does get alot better with the proper tools, but needing to play 15-20 hours to reach that point is not a good design. I used to have to be real careful if I tried to raid a fort. Now I almost feel like I stroll in it. The enemy scaling matter little when you have a guaranteed 3 kills with the spear chain, then use your vanish bomb, go again with the spear chain or maybe do a single stealth kill to get 3 adrenaline and repeat. The exploding mega arrow is awesome for leaders and their bodyguards. It doesn't kill them, but really weakens them. I am yet to try the Ghost arrow, but I feel I will get hooked to it. It can make you cocky though. I ended up in a fort brawl with 3 Mercs and 3 generals plus loads of red shirts. It was a barrage of poison, fire and arrows that I had to flee from and approach it more carefully later

I feel exactly the same. The combat grind is long gone, but now I’m a demigod. I get that this is by design, but it’s sort of a terrible design. I don’t mind a protagonist who’s a bit of a superhero, but it’s not what I look for in AC. I miss the days of more mundane weaponry and tools.
I wish Unity hadn’t bombed. It was a bit too shallow on the side content, and glutted with filler, but the mechanics and visuals were almost perfect. Improve the combat a bit, add back in the whistle/lure and the ability to move bodies, and we’re good.
I’m playing on PS4 Pro, and this game does not look very good. The character models and gear are respectable, but the environments are rough. They have that gritty, granulated appearance of AC3 on Xbox360, as if I’m viewing the TV from the far side of a window screen. This is the first game I’ve played on PS4, let alone the Pro, with such dated presentation. The Pro has raised my expectations quite a bit, too. I know it’s a console, but it generally offers a good experience with UHD+HDR10. If this is the cost of having a giant world, I’d prefer it be reined in for the next game. I may prefer that anyway, given just how big this world is.
I guess the good thing will be that there could be post-story content left if I’m not burnt out on the game. I want to conclude the three overlapping stories, but I’m sure I don’t need to go to every location in the world in the process. I’m fighting my own completionist nature in that regard.

It was a barrage of poison, fire and arrows that I had to flee from and approach it more carefully later I think I get that even at my lowly L11. Having stayed in the same area for a while now and gone above the area level combat even with only a few low level skills is no longer really an issue. Unless of course I get mobbed by about 15 enemies. Then its time to run away.

That's weird, the graphics on PC are superb and that is enhanced by the actual environments themselves compared to Origins. I actually spent a fair bit of time just taking in the scenery yesterday rather than running Helter Skelter to and from missions. I forget to do that sometimes and as there is no way I'll finish the game before I go away at the end of the week, I am really trying to stop myself rushing through it and enjoying it.

So trying to decide today whether to go see Stentor and kick off the story side again. Can someone spoil me as to what I am in for when I do that mission, is it going to be one of those big open battles where I have to take down a certain number of enemies? Do I get to decide if I fight Spartans or Athenians?

Do I get to decide if I fight Spartans or Athenians? Yes, it’s a conquest mission. I suspect you’ll have to aid Sparta if you want to meet the Wolf. You really should move forward in the story. You’re like a frog in a well right now. The rest of the game that you can’t see is so much better than that crappy little battlefield. I did a conquest battle at sea earlier today. I’m in the pirate isles right now, hunting pirates and cultists. I saw Kassandra in the Amazon Legendary Armor Set. It’s so badass! I love the less ridiculous, less ornate gear. She looks like a more realistically garbed Wonder Woman. It’s the first time I felt a pang of regret at not choosing her. 😆

Any of you guys on PC experiencing ghosting around the character when moving the camera around? I figured it might be due to the aa used, but even when off I'm still seeing it, it's getting distracting

I will do the battle this afternoon and move on, I am not rushing because I am going to have to stop playing for 10 days on Thursday and will lose all momentum anyway. Will pick up the pace after that. How do I get this Amazon Legendary set? Must have it, must have it I must.

I do not want to grind through this game with Kassandra. I just completed a quest that frustrates me to no end. Both choices are idiotic. I can’t be explicit without spoilers. Alexios/Kassandra are bad with children. Five more minutes of effort could’ve changed a kid’s life. Ugh! Bad writing. EDIT: Alexios did say, “I should check on her later,” after walking away. There’s still hope. He’s also still a dolt. There’s middle ground between permissiveness and being a jackass.

I just found an octopus figurehead in a wreck positioned between Attica, Argolis and Seriphos. It’s looks badass! I also gained a Barbarian crew in another wreck further north. Adrestia is finally feeling a little bit less generic, though she’s not nearly as cool as Morrigan or Jackdaw.

I assume the dialogue is similar whether you play either one, a couple of Kassandra's dialogue choices yesterday were strange. And also why have a dialogue choice to ask someone to join the ship if they are just going to say no? I get that it may add some realism but it was a waste of time having the conversation at all.

Ok, this is crap. Level 34 pack of wolves in a map for level 12-13? I wandered into a neighbouring area and went to kill an Ibex or whatever they are called, can kill them one shot or one hit but the ones in the next area couldn't even damage them!!! Pretty sure a goat is a goat is a goat. Definitely. It doesn't make any sense does it? They should have left the prey alone. Do you want to fight a level 34 chicken?

No I do not want to fight a level 34 chicken the damn level 10 ones are bad enough. It'd be cool though if you killed too many chickens the the Robot Chicken from Robot Chicken appeared. Yeah but seriously I hope this is another thing they change, all the animals should either stay the same level or be realistically ranked based on their real world abilities. A chicken should always be Level 1, a dog L3 and so on...… it shouldn't matter where they are.

Now I have a mental image of chickens charging at the protagonist screeching "This is Sparta" and then launching into a double-footed flying kick with claws.... I...may never sleep again.
