Chickens, pigs and deer.... Are are any of the people in this game dangerous? Or are you constantly on the lookout for murder-rabbits and other furry killers? Well, the mentioned boar and deer are Legendary type of beast bosses you hunt for a quest. So they are really tough. The chickens are just regular badasses. I had just one angry chicken on me so far and I was kinda had it coming because I almost ran it over with my horse. Just beware the wild cats (leopards?). They like to hide in bushes, just like you do, and ambush all of a sudden. So far 1vs1 I have seen those cats defeat a lion and a bear. There's a location solely dedicated to murder chickens. GOTY. 😁

I think i would have prefered with each region having a singular choice: Sparta or Athens. I don't know, this system feels kinda cheap and not really meaningful. Including the occasional pause, the Peloponnesian War lasted 27 years. An ultimately meaningless bloody squabble is a pretty good summation of what happened. Sparta would eventually gain the upper hand, but only for some decades until the rise of Macedonia and Alexander the Great would stamp his feet across Ionia, Egypt and Persia.

I almost got the porker but the keys are not very helpful because it kept dropping down to desktop due to to the stupid win key located next to the spacebar. It forced my fingers into an uncomfortable position. I changed it to ctrl key and it kept doing peculiar things (like small screen) every time I hit dodge. I suppose I have to switch to controller. I'm not happy with that either since I can't use a bow right with a controller; can't hit for nuts. And I'm not overly fond of controllers when it comes to shooting / targeting with weapons.

Ok, I've enough. Not trying for the porker or any legendary critters. That means all quests relating to them I will not do.
I tried the controller and I forgot there's the need to keep the camera angled properly which is just as bad as trying to shoot something with it. It's precisely these bad points that I swore off controllers.

Level 14. Why 50? Elementary Zero said the critters level along with the player. Some locations are level gated. Erm, yeah, but the big porker is in the level 13 zone. I suppose I can get to 30 and then march back for some bacon. No doubt the xp is 0 but I want its hide for being such a smug porker, waiting for its piggies to corner me and then charge in.

I have to say the quest markers suck. They're hard to see. At times I have to stop moving, take a moment to move the camera left or right to see where the marker is. The other thing is the game gives off a DA2 vibe. Meaning repetitive environment. I did x number of contracts and bounties by going to the same locations a number of times to kill this guy, that group of bandits, soldiers or politicians.

Yeah, that's the timed quests available on the message board. They are infinitely repeatable and are the same spawns for every zone. There are some in Phokis I believe which you can sorta exploit for quick cash and loot since two of the camps you need to raid are right next to the quick travel point and there is also a quick travel point next to the message board. I don't even bother with those hourglass quests.

I happened to check the message board and picked up a level 13 quest, my protag hit 15. I expected to see mobs at level 15 but they're 13 and I still get some xps. So the porker is a level 13 quest, that means it'll stay 13. Hopefully.

What level are you? I'm waiting till I hit 50. Level 14. Why 50? Elementary Zero said the critters level along with the player. This is true, but the power curve is totally wonky. What was a difficult grind for 10+ levels is a cakewalk by the time you’re over level 20. All of your combat abilities and passives are locked behind the damn level-gated/story-gated skill system. Once you get some decent points invested, you really start to feel super-human. It’s a poor design, in my opinion. If you go back in the mid-20s or later, you may find the beasts much more manageable. I’ve killed two so far, and have way out-leveled the entry requirement for the Nemean Lion, wherever he’s hiding. I just hit level 40, so I can safely venture most places, now. This game is insanely large. I’m still in the early parts of the story. 0_o Athens is pretty impressive. It doesn’t look as good as Origins’ cities, but it’s cool. I’m sure it would look stunning if the PS4 Pro weren’t locked at 1080p for this game. I figured out what was causing the grainy, gritty look. It was easy once I left the forests. The foliage, particularly in the tops of the trees, is pretty roughly rendered. A sea of that stuff, as we have in wooded areas, makes for a mess. Things are less clear than I’d like, but still much better, outside of wooded areas.

Yes, but what does this have to do with the system they have in place? The war acts as a backdrop for you to stealth or go to war in for coin or loot. You're a mercenary after all. With light RPG elements, you can ignore it, play one side against the other or even take sides. Choices.

Just discovered an interesting game mechanic. If you sink a ship without boarding it, the treasure chests that are on the ship are not destroyed and actually sink to the bottom of the sea. Really to the bottom wherever you are at that time. Noticed that by using the eagle after a big battle against 4 ships and suddenly the sea below me was full of chests. But I dived to try and get one of those and gave up. It was really in deep waters, no islands nearby, so...deep. My air ran out just when I reached the bottom for the first chest and my health went to 40 % or so before I managed to get back up. And it's so disorienting down there, I couldn't tell which way is up. Good thing for the "swim up" button

Ok after messing with some ingame options, it appears having screen space reflections on high was what was causing that strange ghosting issue. The ingame aa does cause a small amount but not nearly what i was seeing. When ssr was on high it was almost as if the character had an entire outline around them, dropped it down to medium and that is all gone! SO if anybody else ever comes across the issue I was having give that a try Glad you sorted it out, that would have been so annoying.

I totally agree re the quest markers, I think I raised it almost immediately upon the start of the game. Its funny you mention that the game has a DA2 vibe, yes there is an element of repetitiveness to the quests but so far it doesn't seem as bad as AC Origins in that regard. And it is definitely not as boring/repetitive in terms of environments but the other similarity is I think in the combat. Some of the abilities and how they are executed remind me of DA2's combat.
