AnDromedary , I’m pretty sure there is such a mode upcoming. I miss Sean’s historical entries in the animus menu, but do really like the tour mode. I think Origins was just a bit more polished in terms of background NPCs (and in most ways), but Odyssey is impressive. Origins had great theatre productions. Odyssey has theatres, but I’ve only seen subdued, huddling actors; no performances yet. I saw two woman, or rather heard them initially, laughing loudly in Chios’ theatre. Since it was midnight or later, and they were alone, I decided they must be high. Obsidian Gryphon , I love these reactions to our actions. I’ve witnessed mercs mourning their animal companions, and animals mourning their humans. Bears are pretty adorable, like big teddy bears, when they’re sitting on their butts all cute and not attacking. I feel a twinge of guilt shooting them. I’ve found that most caged animals will flee if their path is unobstructed. I free them and head in one direction while they sprint in the other. Lynxes are a-holes and always force me to kill them. As in Origins, predators will sometimes eat fallen foes. Vultures and crows quickly descend upon the dead I leave in my wake. that's one way to solve RAM problems.

Element Zero , everyone, let's make a list of what they do. * men / women dancing in the street * small groups talking (gossiping?), drinking from bowls of wine as they talk * men playing hockey * woman scrapping leather * woman scooping beans from a bag, used a roller to crush them and make it into a dough, rolled it and put into a bag * boy playing with a wooden horse * people praying at temples, etc * street performance I just did a quest for a woman who's trying to prevent her husband from dying from wolves. The quest slated that the man die so I went back to the woman and told her the outcome. While exploring, I came upon the woman's house again and saw her kneeling at the porch, crying. I went into the house and found a boy (presumably the son) upstairs, weeping. Did the quest of the doc at the vineyard. I stayed to see what she would do. She examined his face, hands, arms. Then she took a sponge and wiped his chest before handing him a bowl and helped him to drink. Just outside Athens I stopped and watched some couples dancing, playing music and drinking around a fire. I too wish I could understand the lyrics and what they were saying to each other.

I dropped by a Message board. A Mercenary was standing near it, taking notes in some sort of a pad/notebook. I guess they had those in ancient Greece? The Merc told me "You won't last long in this business". Alexios would have replied with something like "I am number 3 on the Merc list, b***h, you are number 20". But I just read up the message board and there was a quest "Bounty on a Mercenary" which was showing "distance to target" as... 2 meters Guess who didn't last long in this business 10 seconds later...
I have seen NPCs going romantic in different poses in the evening (nothing raunchy, just hugs and kisses). Artisans working on statues. Soldiers wrestling. Teachers teaching children. People exchanging money in the streets. Some slaves working in the gardens while they master walks around talking to each one. There are lots of stuff the NPCs are tasked to do to give an illusion of a live world.

Some of the mercenaries are more kind. There's one who passed an encouraging remark that when a bounty came up on him, I didn't take it. Then there're some who just said that Kass has some way to go. Then there're the rude arrogant ones who I joyfully hunt down. Now that Kass is #1, I have yet to pass by any mercenary, I wonder what they would say? I pretty much ignore business competition quests; my competitor is outgunning me by etc etc, kill him. Nope, do better you dope. Bandits? Any time, any where, they make my day. Kosmos Cultists? I'll make time. No mercy! Hades Cultists? Shut up you maniacs! I so detest your yodeling. I hope you sing well in hades. Every time a big fortified fort comes up, I'll be gleeful. Why? Because ghost arrows and because I like to climb along the walls and pull the poor sods over the wall. Short way, long way, they all fall to their deaths. Showcasing all armor sets. Acquiring the sets. I'm unlikely to equip a set because I like to mix and match as the design of the armor and how practical it would be in rl are a factor. Another is that of all the armor sets, I prefer the overall Spartan look for Kass. The stats and benefits are of secondary consideration.

I saw two guys in the poor area of a town punching the hell out of each other and not only a one off every time I went past them.

I just brought a used copy of Assassin's Creed Origins. Good game, very polished. I really like Bayek and the setting. I feel more invested in his fight than in that of Alexios/Kassandra. The second DLC, The Curse of the Pharaohs, was really good.

Just hit level 32, really enjoying it so far. Only thing I don't like is even with the last patch upgrading gear is still pretty expensive resource wise. But I do like the gear set up for my Kassandra.

I'm noticing a lot of areas don't clear properly. Sometimes, the objectives will all update to be completed, but the area still won't clear. Other times, the objectives don't update even as chests are looted/supplies burned.
So far, the loss is limited to experience, which isn't a big deal because I'm over-leveled compared to the story. But I'm worried that this will prevent achievements. Because of the way some objectives are completed but don't update, I won't ever be able to go back to "re-do" the areas. Does anyone know if this is something Ubisoft is working on? I have some bounties/contracts that won't update because the source camps never did.

It’s annoying, but doesn’t seem to be a persistent thing. If you pass through again at a later time, whether minutes or hours, the “Completed” status will trigger. No enemies or items will respawn while the site is partially completed. themikefest, I guess that would be pretty annoying. I never use subtitles ongames, so I’m always in the dark on this one. Being able to easily read them is the entire point, though. They should better test this type of thing beforecrelease, let alone it being an issue a year later. I assume there is no option to adjust them? Games in general are getting better about accessibility options, but most are still lacking. In Odyssey, I found the icons a bit difficult to track in bright (in-game) settings. I think they may have given them a slightly stronger black offset in an update. It was noteworthy in my last session.

The reason why I have subtitles turned on is because background noise, in-game and in my house, can cause the occasional dialogue not to be completely heard.
I do agree about the icons in Odyssey. It's one of the first things I noticed about the game that was annoying. It's not bad during the night. The other thing that is annoying, for both games, and other games in general, is white subtitles are at times hard to see in bright scenes unless the player moves the camera to where the subtitles can be seen clearer.

Great updates to the game are on the way in November. I’ll post a link, but first a PSA: If you have saves for multiple PTs as I do, be choosy when tackling Epic Events. I sunk the new Alpha Ship today with Alexios. Presumably because orichalcum was attached, I could not then do so with Kassandra. This sucks since I care less about the orichalcum and greatly about the new Ship Appearance at stake. I consider my Kassandra PT my “primary save”, fully stocked and equipped for future NG+ outings. Missing out on the new ship customization with this save was a bummer. Don't make this mistake if you are as cognizant of these little things as I am. I assume that eventually this sail will repeat, so it will work out in the end. Still sucks for now. Anyway, cool stuff is on the way. A new level cap of 70 approaches. The XP overages we’ve accrued (over 34M for me) will be directly translated into extra Skill Points. So, you’ll still be level 50 after this update, but may get a slew of additional skill points. This sidesteps the costly upgrading hurdles you’d encounter if they simply bumped you up in levels. Speaking of upgrade costs, they economy has been reworked. Costs will be reduced in patch 1.07. Cool. Steropes the Lightning-bringer will appear soon. He’s a big ass Cyclops that everyone will be able to fight. He drops a legendary bow, I believe. A (disappointingly tacky) new Odysseus Pack will launch. I’ll admit the Trojan Horse makes me chuckle; I love that it’s Hunter gear; and the jerkin looks cool. The blue hood and bow look like ass. The merfolk crew is bizarre, and the sail is meh. Good thing we’ll be getting control over item cosmetics. We’ll soon be able to change the appearance of each item we wear, meaning we don’t sacrifice our good looks for good stats. If you paid attention, you might’ve noticed that items changed with levels. A design that was iron at level 15 might be gold by 50. New designs will also appear for the additional 20 levels we’re about to acquire. All of the new and existing looks will be available as cosmetic options via the new feature. This is really cool. All RPGs should have this! I can’t wait to try new looks and to ditch all that gaudy gold for iron and silver. Here’s the promised link. Enjoy: assassinscreed.ubisoft.com/game/en-gb/news-updates/339685/this-month-in-assassins-creed-odyssey-november-2018

Hey Element Zero I recruited a Mercenary I just took down but she doesn't show up on the list of Lieutenants. Is their a fixed number of people you can recruit cause I'll be really pissed if there was no slot for her, she this strapping big blonde woman (Enyo War Seeker) and I so wanted her as a Lieutenant. If there is a limit I have freed some slots up now so hopefully the game will slot her in when I log in next. The merc menu says she is recruited. NEVER MIND WENT BACK TO AN EARLIER SAVE AND RECRUITER HER AFTER CLEARING SOME SPOTS.Also I changed back to my epic gear from the Legendary Pirate stuff, the stats are ridiculously better which is pretty silly really plus I get added bonuses cause of the extra stat slot.

Yep, Epic is waaay better. You can pile on engraving perks, including multiple legendary engravings across a set. Currently, not every piece can bear a legendary engraving, but maybe in time. I think I’m going to train out of Second Wind. It seems universally useful, but there an exception to everything. It’s of no use to a build that runs continuously at 25% hp. Nearly every hit is death at 25% hp on Hard. Even if I used it, it would be a terrible payoff for an adrenaline point. I’ll look at alternatives. I could add Vanish, as it would be very useful to escape a melee situation, but so is Ring of Chaos, which I already have. I may use those points to level Revelation, or something. (My very first skill point goes to Revelation, and then I never invest another in that skill for the rest of the game.)

Great to hear they're going to tweak the costs further and adding more levels. I've not done the Tales of Greece yet. I'm pretty meh on new alpha ships because I don't fancy sailing around and around looking for them, I'd rather they attached them to quests. Also meh on new creature to kill, sounds like monster of the week thing to me. I've finished the second Kass PT. On the whole, I've a feeling the book is going to be gritty and dark unlike the game where it's lighter and possible to get happy endings. I'm not certain I want to do the Aexios PT considering what happened to him (canon) and I've grown attached to Kass. PS. Oh wait. Just found out the special ship is tied to a bounty mission. Well, that makes it easier.

Make sure you do it on your preferred save file. I’m eager to thrash another cyclops. I’m curious as to what the new collection of PoE orbs will mean. I’m also glad that we’ll soon get behind that Mykenaean door beneath the volcano. Never put an unopenable door in my game! I fully expect the linked quest to suck ass, but I’ll give it a chance.

Hey, stupid question, that has been bothering me since I started playing the game: Is there still a possibility to push and jump off from walls? I can't seem to figure out how to do it anymore. It was a mainstay in the old AC game that you could jump away from a wall. Now, all I can do is press shift to climb or ctrl to climb down but I can't just let go anymore. That's is pretty annoying, especially in caves. But I feel like I am just too stupid to figure out the right button. Anyone got a solution for me?
