Not much to tell in Kassandra's journey yet, she's still mostly just wandering about. I should really be doing more story Here's Kass going in her first tomb: And Alexios swimming with the fishies A bit disappointing the tombs in Odyssey compared to Origins. They're just there for ability points. Love the whale picture

Just got the platinum trophy for Assassin's Creed Origins, excellent.
I might get the Assassin's Creed The Ezio Collection for 19.99. I also might get Assassin's Creed Syndicate for 19.99

Got to level 30 on Kass. Stopped at Mykonos, haven't talked to Kyra, but I guess I will soon. Killed a blood priest or something,

Oh finally, that blacksmith is going to be useful. I have been wondering why he's stuck in that place. Between buying training/access to those perks and investing in the mastery perks, there’s now a substantial amount of mechanical customization. The skills might be necessarily limited in number and scope, but this passive, under-the-hood tinkering is great.

Oh finally, that blacksmith is going to be useful. I have been wondering why he's stuck in that place. I'm so proud of finding him all by myself, not even knowing he existed. Otherwise that area is a mess with huntresses slaughtering soldiers right and left. I just hide in the bushes and loot the bodies.

I haven’t gotten too exotic with it, yet. I’ve boosted each damage category by +10%, thinking that this might diversify my play experience a bit behind the constraints set by my currently equipped gear. There are some really cool, specific perks that open up some really interesting builds. I’ll dig into those whenever I return wholeheartedly to the game (likely after NG+ arrives). The new gear packs for January look horrible. I wonder how many they’ll sell. The legendary perk on the Dionysos armor is really good. The perk on the weapon is intriguing, but likely not terribly useful.

Odyssey question (partly in your opinion): In previous Assassin's Creed games, I've always liked to play my character as mainly stealthy while also using long range weapons to silently pick off distant enemies, but still have the capability to fight back if spotted and can't escape. Seeing as how Odyssey really seems to be going all in on specifically building your character for certain play-styles (both through their ability trees and equipping certain armors and weapons), what would be the most recommended advice for choosing abilities or armor equipment? (basically what branches of the tree should I be focusing on and what types of stat boosts should I pay most attention to when selecting armor or weapons?)

(basically what branches of the tree should I be focusing on and what types of stat boosts should I pay most attention to when selecting armor or weapons?) I have basically played with a heavy lean towards Assassin stats on my armour/weapons followed by an elemental specialty (Poison or Fire) and also at least one stat/engraving that boosts Adrenaline. Secondary I try and boost Hunter stats for the bow to be effective at one shotting people and I usually have an engraving that adds damage to the "Devastating shot" ability so I can one shot higher level guards etc. I use a weapon that has the elemental ability I have chosen and obviously invest in the mastery ability that goes with my chosen element. Rush Assassination is a must have I think and Shield Breaker is essential for shortening melee combat and I like Hero Strike and Ring of Chaos once you can get it to level 3. Second Wind is necessary for me because it heals. Multi shot is also pretty useful and of course Ghost Arrows once you can get it. In terms of the assassin build I also invest in Critical Assassination, Stealth, the skill that makes bodies disappear etc.

(basically what branches of the tree should I be focusing on and what types of stat boosts should I pay most attention to when selecting armor or weapons?) I actually always train essentially the exact same skills, mapping them the same way, regardless of my playstyle. The gear you have equipped will determine how effective you are at a given tactic. Hunter builds are the most powerful (as in completely overpowered), but each playstyle is fun. Assassination is the heart of the series; high-level Warrior is glorious to behold; and a Hunter is unstoppable. It’s definitely worth building toward a particular style early on. You will eventually get nearly all of the skills, and can retrain whenever you wish. It’s hard to be effective in the early game, though, if you don’t pick a particular playstyle and focus on it. Branch out only once you’ve accumulated the skill points and gear to make it worthwhile. Boost your playstyle’s relevant damage stat (Assassination, Hunter or Warrior), of course. Crit Damage is great for Assassins and good for anyone. Perks that boost Crit Damage and chance are going to get most of your attention for Assassins. Warriors and Hunters benefit from using and boosting elemental damage. The +Stamina per hit is great for Warriors and Hunters, and the assorted Archery perks (like headshot perks) are pretty great for Hunters. There are lots of great passive skills and a few standouts among the actives. I’ve pulled up the skill trees on the wiki so that I can list my typical build. The only glaring absence you’ll note, from an optimization standpoint, is Battlecry of Ares. It’s very powerful, but I just find that I don’t need it. It’s overkill for me, given my gear and general skill level, so I instead train something more interesting. Hunter Tree Sixth Sense 3 Arrow Master 2 Multishot 3 (one of the most powerful skills in the game) Predator Shot 3 Devastating Shot 3 Archery Master 3 Overpower Bow Strike 2 (eventually 3) Ghost Arrows of Artemis 3 There is a Rapid Shot skill set to arrive with the next DLC chapter. If it’s good, I may ditch either Predator Shot or Devastating Shot for it, since each can effectively occupy the other’s niche. Warrior Tree Second Wind 3 Ring of Chaos 3 (awesome to behold and uber-powerful late-game) Weapons Master 3 Gear Master 3 Overpower Attack 3 Charged Heavy Attack 3? (But only because I had extra skill points to burn) Shield Breaker 3 Flaming Attacks 1 as a gateway to... Fire Mastery 3 (I prefer fire on Warriors as it’s more flashy than poison and spreads like crazy) Assassin Tree Shadow Assassin 3 Rush Assassination 3 (a premier, universally awesome skill) Critical Assassination 3 Stealth Master 3 Shadow of Nyx 3 (of sketchy usefulness, but fun to have the few times it’s relevant) Venomous Attacks 1 as a gateway to... Poison Mastery 3 (I prefer poison for Hunters and Assassins since it’s cleaner than fire) Hero Strike 3 (note that this is a combat skill that uses your insane assassination damage figures) Slow Time 3 (I often forget to use it, but it’s incredibly powerful. Even 1 point is powerful.) Revelation 1 (The first skill I select. 1 point is enough. I eventually top it off at 3 once I’m swimming in extra skill points.) Death Veil (Comes via the DLC. It should really shine in any future NG+ when it will see more substantial use.) There are arguments to be made for a couple of other skills, and plenty of ways to build a fun character, but these are my preferred skills. I find them universally useful, for the most part, equipping me for every conceivable situation. This was essentially a highview info dump, but I can be more specific if you have more specific questions.

Finally got round to starting Odyssey this week after receiving it for Christmas and now I’m in love with it! I’ve only just left the beginner island with Kassandra and have made landfall at Megaris and now I’m counting down the hours until I can play it again. Really can’t believe that it’s taken me this long to play it!

Seems understandable. A couple minor questions: 1. Are you suggesting that the armor and melee weapons focus on Assassin stats and the bow focus on the hunter stats? 2. What style have you personally found more useful in your play-through? Hunter or Assassin style?

What style have you personally found more useful in your play-through? Hunter or Assassin style? Have you played any AC games before? If you have what appealed to you most playing those games, stealth and assassinating enemies or taking them out from range? Me personally. my goal is to take down all the guards etc by stealth and not be seen at all, so I invest mainly in Assassin damage, however I also invest as much as I can in Hunter damage because some situations for stealth are made easier by clearing out guards with the bow from range so you can get to other targets. My weapon stats dictate what elemental I use (poison or Fire) and my bow usually has Hunter Stats. The key with the armour is once you know you are going Assassin or Hunter getting gear with good primary stats that support that and with secondary stats that boost your other play style. So I look for pieces with a primary stat of Assassin damage and also that have hunter stats and then I look for whatever works best for me like, extra adrenaline, ignoring damage, melee resistance, critical damage etc. Here's a pic of my detailed stats below so you can see what my build leans towards. I recommend having a read of Element Zero post above if you haven't already, I'd mostly just be repeating what he said.

Well, in previous Assassin's Creed games, I generally prefer playing stealthy, trying to take advantage of hiding spots and picking off guards one by one. It's usually made easier when I have a silent long range weapon to also assist with the picking off. That said, whenever I get spotted I usually refrain from pausing and resetting the checkpoint and opt to fight my way out unless things get too hectic. Judging from your suggestions, I think my plan right now is to equip armor with a primarily assassin focused stats and certain buffs like extra defense or stamina regen. Maybe have my melee weapons increase some warrior damage, and primarily put hunter damage on my bow.

N7Pathfinder , whichever you choose, I’d suggest going all-in. If it’s Assassin, then stick with +Assassin equipment. You’ll still be adequate with the other skill trees, but they won’t be your focus. Boost the stuff you intend to use most. An assassin shooting from hiding can do some great bow damage. (Poison is an awesome way to boost this damage, and Hunter skills are beastly even without gear perks.) Assassins can fight okay in melee with skills like Shield Breaker, Vanish, and whatnot. Hero Strike is a great combat ability from the Assassin tree. You can be plenty effective at archery and fighting while fully leaning into Assassin. What you don't want is to spread out your equipment perks only to find that your assassinations don’t one-shot polemarchos or the like. If you want to kill easily from hiding, go all-in on that assassin damage. Disclaimer: I’m posting from a mobile device while distracted. Typos and needlessly repetitive advice could be an issue. 😕

I've been reading the other AC thread (the spoiler one) but I won't post there because I don't want another thread to keep up with when I can just poke my head in and read the last page all the time So this is something on saw on that other thread The Deimos question: Alexios makes a more violent kind of Deimos. Kassandra comes across as more unhinged, which imo, made her seem more convincing in the role. My Kass is level 40 now and I think I can say, I still prefer Alexios as my main PT and Kass as Deimos. I played Alexios as assassin/hunter and had great fun with him. Kass is warrior/assassin and it's fun too. As much fun as I've had with Origins and Odyssey though, last night I realized, I really miss what AC used to be. I want to go back to the AC/Templars and assassin's really being assassin's. I want to be rid of Layla in the modern day stuff, I just can't stand her. UGH. Anyways, Alkibiades is great fun and all, but here is Kass with her true love
