I love that scene! That`s one of the things that i like about Cullen`s romance, we have the passionate scenes but we also have tenderness moments like that hug, moments where he shows that he cares and worries about her. And Cullen gives great hugs :

And Cullen gives great hugs : He really does. And let's not forget the face caressing during the sex scene. That was pretty neat. By the way, good riddance to those hideous gray pajamas. I'm so glad the Inquisitor doesn't have to wear them anymore.

Is becoming lyrium addled the inevitable fate of every templar, much like the Calling is for Grey Wardens? Only if they continue to take Lyrium regularly.
Those who stop taking it altogether (like Cullen), or only use it sparingly (like Alistair) will likely not end up addled.
Cullen occasionally has lapses in concentration, but it's not clear if that's due to ten years of lyrium-usage or him going through heavy withdrawal? Or both?

Saw this quote on Pinterest (lost it again before I could get a source), and thought of Cullen - particularly the epilogue slide where a romanced Cullen just looks so happy and free after the Inquisition is disbanded. So I combined the two images into one Cullen occasionally has lapses in concentration, but it's not clear if that's due to ten years of lyrium-usage or him going through heavy withdrawal? Or both? My guess goes to both. I have a very strong feeling that for most of those years (basically the time during DA2) Cullen was taking "more than the recommended dose" of lyrium - for two reasons: 1) After what happened in Kinloch Hold, I suspect Cullen would feel that he needs to be stronger and "better" to ensure that it didn't happen again in Kirkwall's Circle, and that taking stronger doses of lyrium would help him become so. 2) In Inquisition, Cullen mentions something about the lyrium having helped with his nightmares. I wouldn't be surprised if he took extra doses of lyrium when the nightmares/memories/PTSD got too bad. All that extra lyrium use may have caused him to develop a few of the early permanent effects sooner than a Templar that was taking the normal amount/strength of lyrium during the same time span. And if I remember correctly, memory and concentration issues are among the symptoms of lyrium withdrawal. And the headaches and other body pains the withdrawal induces would certainly affect his concentration (I know I have trouble concentrating when I get migraines). Then all the stress he's under probably exacerbates the withdrawal symptoms in general.

I always head canon for a Warden not of the Human noble origin, the mabari you recruit in Ostagar has their name on their collar or something I mean a grown dog generally refuses to listen to a new name (even if generally they just listen to the tone of your voice and not the actual words), especially a smarter breed like the mabari I think

hm...what do you think Cullen would name his mabari? (If it didn't have one already that is) Hmm, something military-orientated would fit his personality and Mabari being traditionally bred for war.
But Cullen's a bit of a softie at heart, so I could see him picking something to remind him of happier times when he didn't have the weight of the world on his shoulders? Maybe the name of a relative, childhood friend or place he felt content?

heh, I think it might also depend on whether or not he has a relationship with the Inquisitor (I imagine she would also have an input on a name for the mabari)
it's funny, both my current Warden and Hawke didn't exactly give a military related name to their mabari (my Warden's mabari is named Roach, and my Hawke named hers Buttercup )
the only place I can think of Cullen would name his mabari after would be his home village Honnleath, but that's a bit hard to give as a name for a dog me thinks it might also be funny if he named the dog Carroll or Samson, or maybe even Greagoir (he seemed to respect him at any rate)
heh, the first dog I had was also named Samson (great dog, though he's gone now (got to be 11 'till he passed away)

I tend to name Dog based on the Warden's origin;
"Salroka" for the Dwarf Commoner, "Deshyr" for the Dwarf Noble, "Shartan" for the Dalish Elf, "Garahel" for the City Elf and "Aldenon" (Calenhad's "Merlin") for the mages.
The only one I don't do this for is the Human Noble, which I use "Rabbit" after the unofficial name suggested by one of the writers. But if I did follow the pattern, I rather like "Arl Woof".

I think I had a Salrokka in the past as well...not sure
also apparently Alistair would canonically named the mabari Barkspawn (as seen in the Darkspawn chronicles dlc)
I do the same as well, though sometimes I also just named them silly things such as Biscuit
my longest and oldest Warden named Lisanna Amell (who I sadly no longer have, but I plan to remake her eventually) called her mabari Miguel (at the time I had just watched Road to El Dorado and kinda liked it)
for my mages I tend to name them after a head canon templar who was nice to them, my last mage Warden named the dog Bowen
and another old Warden (Dalish) named the mabari Aravas
those are the only ones I remember from the top of my head, I've no idea what I named my first one...probably just Dog

though I guess it depends, if later it turns out the person you admire turns out to be a huge prick...it might as well be an insult to the dog
