Or maybe some people find swearing inappropriate in many situations, like a business or professional setting. I like to roleplay my PC as someone who takes their job seriously and also keeps control of their emotions and doesn't fly off the handle and curse at the first sign of irritation. IRL, I know it isn't the current culture to show respect or deference to others by not using offensive language, but that is the way I was raised and the way I have raised my own children. Yeah I agree. People that delve into cursing simply because they have nothing better to say don't present a very mature impression of themselves. I'm not against swearing, in fact I barely noticed it in MEA. I'm talking more about folks that think it should be used several times in every sentence. What if it is done in an Irish accent though?

I don't think I've ever paid attention to the swearing in the game, then again I do live with it everywhere I go so maybe it won't be noticeable to me to begin with.

I think the forum is close to having a complaint about everything in this game. Kinda hard to see where you go after the pyjak and too many f's threads.

Eh, chalking this one up to differences in vernacular. I know that excessive swearing is just how I talk regardless of my emotion or circumstance, unless I make a conscious effort to avoid it. Funnily enough, it's worse when I'm in a good mood. So I guess my point is that it could have been much "worse", for example I could have written Ryder's dialogue From what I can tell, Quebec is a pretty foulmouthed vernacular in both English and French, so it makes sense. As for my sensitivity to swearing, well: I relate to this. "Fucking" is basically my equivalent of "umm" or "you know" if I'm not in a professional or family environment.

So I take a peek in this section and people are complaining about the amount of times the character uses inappropriate language?

I'm liking it. I don't remember many, if any in the Trilogy. I always expected to hear more in an M rated game. Fuck was in the trilogy. It kinda feels like people didn't read my post. I'm okay with the words. But when I half expect the word whenever something remotely 'badass' happens, it reminds me less of a 20-something story and more of a pre-teen trying to impress. EDIT: Seriously. I'm okay with swearing and I'm okay with the word 'fuck'. Its about the frequency I personally thought there was with so many characters at so many times. Have 'Fuck off!' Jacks around all you want. It just felt like the writers considered adding more 'Fucks' (and sometimes 'Shits', but that was more sparingly used) were all that was needed to add to the 'dark' edge to this 'lighter' story. Well, and sidequests like tha cannibals.

When you use that specific word, it gets silly. Like many critisize about this script, it can feel juvenile and in need of edits. This is down to options for final mission dialogue. I'm not against swear words, I've been fine with it since the start, but I really don't like MEA's implementation. O= the amount of "f's" I give about this post. Ok.

So I take a peek in this section and people are complaining about the amount of times the character uses inappropriate language? Not that in itself. What I was alluding to is how I considered it bad writing for the game, in this particular implementation. I'm sure others complained about ME2 as well (the 'dark underworld' ME) though I found that okay enough. I swear all the time lol

"Fucking" is basically my equivalent of "umm" or "you know" if I'm not in a professional or family environment. Yeah, that's great, its just that I ended up expecting half the characters to exclaim with specific swears (mostly 'fuck') and it gave off a false edgy sense to me compared to the previous games (save for, as I brought up above, parts of ME2 maybe; though I mostly liked it there). Like newer writers were allowed to put fuck in their scripts and they giggled away at all the lines they could put it in, even if it might be more tactful for certain characters at certain times to use other expressions. Anyway, I think I explained myself enough. Judge away.

I don't think I've ever paid attention to the swearing in the game, then again I do live with it everywhere I go so maybe it won't be noticeable to me to begin with. I've lived around people who string several f-bombs in the same small sentence. Newfies. (Newfoundlanders) So I'm not talking about 'too many fs' in general, but 'too many fs' in the situations and characters in this game script.

People getting up in arms about a few swear words when you're killing hundreds of living sentients and creatures during gameplay. I mowed down over 2,000+ in a single playthrough. The achievement you get for doing it is literally called The Terminator.
Whenever I hear people whining about curse words hurting their sensitive dispositions, after they've spent hours exploding the skulls of their foes, I'm reminded why swear words exist as a form of expression.

This. Being more offended by "dirty words" than depictions of violence leads me to suspect some people have screwed-up priorities.

Fuck off mate. (no offense intended just there for humour... if you can call it that)
It's a very expressive word that has many meaning and uses, leave it the fuck alone.
Ryder is a few years younger than me, and uses the word much more sparingly than I. You can definitely overuse it, however i think Ryder may say it like 5 or 6 times throughout the whole game that i noticed, that's a not a lot and when they do say it, it's in a very reasonable circumstance, he/she is very frustrated and angry in that particular scene as well so i think what they said expressed their feelings perfectly.

I don't think this is whining, more that it is actually bad writing, and i agree. This isn't really a problem just in Andromeda either. Dragon Age 2 and Dragon Age Inquisition was way too heavy on the cussing, in a franchise that started without any. Use a word enough and it loses its power. That is why in Trespasser when the Inquisitor actually uses the f'word (Player's choice) it is that much more powerful. In Andromeda people are throwing it around way too often, and its getting old.
