Somebody please tell me it's just an L2P issue. Her unique ascend power sucks (it goes away when your shield breaks? really? really?). Lance is dumpster fire level awful on all kits which leaves us with pull and throw. It's a cute little thing to launch unshielded unarmored targets off the map a handful of times. It's a nice little gimmicky thing to chuckle at. But this is what you have to build around? This one trick? This is a UR? Currently her only saving grace is she has Barrier passives.
Somebody teach me bc currently she is my most loathed kit.

This is a guide/video that was posted on reddit (not mine). it's pretty informative, and makes the kineticist look pretty fun/effective on gold. in essence, you pull red health mooks (instantly disabling), and throw them at other enemies. if either of those two enemies were primed, the collision causes a detonation.
the player in the video uses the PAW to ammo prime targets very quickly, and then pull/throw them into groups of enemies for a directed tech/fire/biotic explosion.

The developers, such new, much wow... It is hardly recognizable in any fashion.

While that's great for Outlaw, the kett will calmly vaporize you while you'rea chargin' ya lazah, much less the remnant whom will gleefully let you clomp an assembler so three breachers can *GENTLY MACHINE CARESS* you from behind. Meanwhile as you're surveying the fiery results of your 15% damage 'combo' the AsA has already punched three fiends to death and the Ghetto Phantom has stabbed half the map to death while the sting from 'Kill Bill' plays in the background. Her gimmick is a little too gimmicky.

Lance is indeed a stinky Limburger like ability. not sure if it is due to lag but nothing happens half the time when I try and use it. It's fine if I have already floated an enemy with something like singularity.

She is very good as a weapon platform, if you have a weapon that isn't terrible.
Going into ascension mode restores your shields, gives you immunity while activating, and doubles your effective shields. So popping in and out of ascension mode and just going around blasting things while using pull to increase your shields, throw to stagger, and lance to occasionally detonate works very well.

I'm kinda liking the part about using mooks as weapons. If the stuff that's supposed to be your weapon sucks you got to be creative, right? Unfortunately, right now I am still only unlocking the uncommon items so it might take a while before I can try her out myself.

I've only run a few matches with those kits, but they're probably next on my list to take to 20 once I finish off an HSent. I've been bouncing around between all the kits a bunch, until I get someone around 15, and then I power level them up to 20.

It's basically a bullet that detonates biotics.

The character is pretty shit in my opinion. What good is a character that can only deal with red bars..? I've been unlcuky enough to have rng ''bless'' me with this character as my highest UR at rank 6.
Also lol@ that guy who keeps spamming topics about her on the mecoop reddit trying to convince everyone that kineticist with paw is actually a good combo.I should've made a video of me topping the scoreboard yesterday with a venom on a krogan merc trying to tell people it's actually a good setup and they just don't understand the venom (spoiler alert it's not good).
Can you get through gold runs with her and get some gimmicky kills with pull + throw, sure but you can do that with any character. I can top scoreboards on gold with shitty characters like the salarian architect, that still doesn't mean he's a good character it just means the person playing is somewhat competent.
The fact that a character like this is an ultra rare that needs to be unlocked 10 times says a lot about the characters in this game. Imagine if turian ghost, drell adept or n7 destroyer existed in this game, I'm sure they'd be in their own tier of extra ultra rare with a 1% drop rate from premium crates.

It seems like it hits the enemy before the actual projectile gets there, which is what made me think it might be hitscan vs projectile.

The character is pretty shit in my opinion. What good is a character that can only deal with red bars..? A character who is good at dealing with red bars is good at dealing with red bars. I don't understand why that makes her pretty shitty. Isn't having different types of specialists and to make them work as a team sorta the point of co op games? Besides, which kits are good versus blue and yellow bars? Anti-shield/-armor abilities don't seem to do much damage, same thing for combos. I want more specialization in this game, not less. Give me more kits, powers and weapons that are great for one thing and suck at everything else; instead of only a few things that are great for everything plus an endless supply of crappy things that suck at everything (which is basically were the game is currently at).

Why they changed Pull into a non-priming ability is baffling. It is the fucking definition of a "priming" power - it ragdolls an enemy into a state where they are vulnerable to more attack. The developers, such new, much wow... It is hardly recognizable in any fashion. Throw does prime, just very briefly. If you throw, then immediately follow it up with a lance, it will detonate - though your mileage may vary when off host. As for the Human Kineticist, it is a L2P issue. The kit is very effective and fun(yes, even on gold). Ascension doesn't suck, it turns her into a monster if there are multiple mooks/unshielded on the battlefield with zero cd on pull+throw. If your team has annihilation field, she's another detonator spammer, more so than others. People like to discredit red bars, but swarms of mooks and dogs (ignoring blink fiend) are usually what ends up getting you killed. Furthermore, in addition to the 50% DR Ascension provides, you also get full shields and iframes when you pop it: The kit itself is very difficult to play overall compared to something like a nade spam infiltrator. The play style is much different from other kits and if you try to play her like the others, you will get garbage results. Since you need to maximize your value from Ascension, you need to have excellent management of your shields. This means high map awareness, proper cover usage, excellent positioning, and mechanics adequate enough to consistently prime+pull+throw without getting shredded. All the while avoiding cowering in a corner with Ascension up. As for that guide, it gives a good blueprint on how she should be played. I still think the PAW is one of the worst weapons in the game, but on her it, and the shadow for that matter, definitely work due to their priming capability (it outperforms the hurricane and equalizer at range for priming speed and accuracy). Essentially, you want to prime a mook quickly, and then use it as a primed bomb. This works because you ammo primes it and throw will not detonate the primed mook until it makes contact with a surface - ideally, another enemy. Also, as Schreiner has stated, if you throw your target into something primed, it will detonate as well. Grabbing canisters and throwing them at enemies will cause them to explode and will prime as well. You also need to build her with maximum barrier generation in mind (except recuperative barrier...you want unyielding instead). So biotic link, active barrier, biotic drain. With all that being said, she can be frustrating to play at times. Namely when you have teammates who continue to kill sh*t that you have primed and pulled. I usually calmly try to inform them via voip to not do that. Other times I slip and inform them less friendly when they snipe my primed pull instead of one of the flak spamming zerkers or roflstomping Annointed. Also, Remnant are pretty annoying to play against with her, but still very effective. Also, "COVER YOUR BRAINS"! Serious what in the f**k Bioware.
