Would I join a project to go colonize another galaxy? In a heartbeat, that'd be amazing! Would I join a project run by people too stupid to put guns on their ships or make plans for pretty much any sort of emergency? No.

Only if I were in charge would I consider going. The AI's planning and day-to-day were not up to par.

No. Well I assume it would be run by the original members and Jien Garson. So just ignore that plotline and their deaths

well it looks like the numbers of the poll have slowed/stopped so lets see the results.
Looks like more than half of the people would love to sign up for something like the AI, I found this result surprising but then again I am asking Mass Effect players this question who would be way more open to this idea than most (Though I do wonder how many just want a chance to bang an alien)

With all the information we have about the AI and how it was pitched to people at the time, hell no. It sounds crazy and like everyone who went there went for the wrong reasons. I mean, when you think about it, a bunch of people who didn't like their life and a few who wanted an adventure signed up to go across the universe to another galaxy knowing it would take 600 years so they could try to find a way to like their life in another place far far away. It's literally the largest grass is greener over there so I'm going over there hop that there ever was. And clearly none of these folks realize that even if the planets were all viable (which in 600 years other species could have settles and did) they are going to have to start from scratch. Life will be hard because they won't have access to trade hubs already established, an economy already established. This isn't just settling on a new planet within milky way where within the milky way you have Relays. Oh and that brings me to another thought. The whole idea behind ME was that the mass relays made travel quick and easy for all. But here we do not have that quick easy travel. So how are we traveling around as fast as we are from system to system? Are we still using mass effect drives that make relays irrelevant? If that is the case then wouldn't the destruction of the mass effect relays in ME3 be wholly irrelevant? Or was it that the Normandy was the only one with an FTL? Do these shuttle have FTLs? I hadn't really given this any thought before. Really, the only way this whole trek would have made sense is if they were all people who took Shepard's warnings seriously. There is that two year gap between ME1 and ME2 where lots of shit could have gone down. They could have made it much more compelling and believable if they had just gone with that as the reason why. Then they could have sold the idea about why these people left and upped the stakes on it and made it look like a truly wise choice. We know in ME2 that there are a handful of people in the Alliance that believed Shepard. It's not crazy to think that people who were involved in the battle of the citadel (and there were many who were there or involved) would have believed it and those people would have told people it was serious as well. In ME3 we meet more people who took his/her warnings seriously. That they didn't make it that people saw that Shepard's warnings were being dismissed and wondered how the protheans, such an advanced civilization could have been wiped out and put the pieces together so many ultimately put stock in shepard's warnings is beyond me.
Not using the Reapers as a solid reason why the AI exists feels like it just makes this more of an absurd adventure. We are not talking about a few thousand people. It's like 100k. Was it not plausible that in a galaxy of probably tens of billions (earth has six billion after that we've still got turians, asari, and salarian coming in with pretty high numbers as well before we add in the other races which are less represented and appear to have smaller numbers based on the rarity of seeing them within the game). I don't think finding enough people who believed in it along with just deciding to go for the reasons already stated within the game would have been difficult. During the time frame after the game the theory of moving people to another galaxy did come up as a way to save the races from extinction. I remember reading posts and people saying that that hoped that the Alliance or some other group actually was doing this. I think it would have been great if we learned that Hackett and leaders from STG, Turian Military and Asari got together and decided this needed to be done and then secured the help of a benefactor. It would have been great if they made each race's hyperion have military on board. As of now we know there are some military on board but were they actually in alliance at some point? We know nothing about that. tl;dr : I will always think that having this AI take place at the same time and not having it even remotely connected to the Reapers with some top people in the military of other races involved in this is dropping the ball. For me, I think it would make more sense and it would be a nod to the original series as well as the realization that while it looked like Shepard's warnings were being dismissed, there were high ranking people who decided the council was wrong to dismiss it and they planned for the worst. Then we might have had a better group of people joining and we would have had a more logical reason to go.

Of course not.
Absolutely everything I can have travelling with the AI I can find in the Milk Way, plus none of the drawbacks and risks which are massive.

It might be more about your philosophy on life then I guess. What's the point in staying in the boring old MilkyWay when you can take a chance into the unknown? Yes, there might be some danger, but I think the danger and the risk of dying is worth it to see a new place. Who wants to live a boring old life anyway when there is a chance you could become something better(or worse possibly). That's the gamble I would be willing to take.

Hmm... Well lets see...
1. I don't get to wake up until I'm actually deemed useful - Sounds great!!
2. If something happens - like say some idiot crashes the ship and my cryo pod gets damaged I could go into a coma - AWESOME!!!
3. If the pathfinder can't find a planet we all die - Oh boy!!!
4. If pirates attack we could probably die since because we don't have ship weapons they'd just send boarding parties and bleed us slow - All right!!!!
5. We could find a planet and contact the....
No wait we can't contact Earth... So how do we tell them we found the.... Oh wait we could totally go back.... which would take another 600 ye..... oh wait the ark is busted so we can't.... uhh.... I should go....

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!! No. The whole thing seemed half-baked even before we learned what actually went wrong. I I ever got the bug to go exploring, there's a 100,000,000,000 stars right here in the Milky Way to check out.

There has always been a side of me that wanted to break away from the familiar.
I would go just for that reason alone, despite knowing that a there would be a ton of hard work for pioneers.
